Fantastic course. Very technical without being overly risky.

Did no one notice that Peder Fredricson lost his stirrup after the oxer at the end of the line which started with the triple bar? I think he lost it doing that sharp turn back to the triple combination. But if you pay close attention, he only had ONE stirrup before starting the triple combination, and never got it back. So the announcer was wrong about him jumping 5 jumps with only one stirrup- he actually jumped ELEVEN jumps with only one stirrup!!! Now THAT is a fantastic rider! Those jumps are HUGE, and I wouldn’t be able to stay on over them with BOTH stirrups. To be able to go clear while only having one stirrup for the majority of the course is mind-boggling!

at 56:46, that lead change before the second jump and STILL clearing? Hello Jefferson is amazing. Also, if that lead change between the jumps hadn't happened, the striding would be late, super impressive.

There are reasons my biggest dream is that i would have at least one riding lesson instructed by Peder! Like he is the best. He did eleven jumps with only one stirrup and still went clear.

The fact that peder didn’t have a stirrup for LITERALLY almost the whole round- he lost before the triple combo- WHOA.

Enjoyed watching the riders and horses!! Only thing I found a bit annoying was the camera person that filmed the jump right after the triple zooms in so much and so fast on EVERY round that you almost go cross eyed. It's distracting and unnecessary.

CAN someone explain to me why the top 3 are men, but the sport is practiced by 98% of women ?
I think there is only one women in the top 10 of the best riders.
How is that even possible ? It doesn't make sense on a statistics level

Showjumping is seen as more masculine and socially appropiate in the equestrian world, so there tends to be more male riders in this sport. Compare this to dressage, which is predominantly female dominated because dressage is seen as more feminine - you see maybe 1 or 2 men in that sport at any one time at a show. Male riders are often mocked for doing dressage and some insinuate it's because they're gay and that's why they do dressage, which isn't always the case. I think female riders probably suffer from similar prejudice for doing showjumping, but I'm not completely sure on that front so feel free to correct me on that.

Truth is, men are more likely to get sponsors and horses. Even a female dominated sport like showjumping favors men.

@@kichipoppi140You are partly correct, men are more likely to do showjumping than dressage because it's seen as more masculine. That said, five out of the top 15 dressage riders in the world ranking right now are men, and men definitely don't make up 30% of dressage riders in the world. Men and boys are favored by sponsors and horse owners.

@@kisikisikisi Yes, unfortunately. Think that stems from a bit of a sexism in the industry as a whole considering riding horses used to be for men only ages ago (not completely sure on that statement).
