One of the example of their bossa nova influenced works and very noticeable one are on the verse section of 'interstate love song'. Robert DeLeo actually wrote the "interstate" riff at first on a nylon string guitar, in bossa nova style. (For further info you can check his interview on Rick Beato's channel)
Interstate love song is one of the best written songs ever, from the super catchy vocals to one of the best riffs of the 90's it has everything that made the 90's such an awesome decade of rock
STP are so criminally underrated. “core” is a fantastic album that still holds up. It’s a shame the critics were so harsh on them at the time. Genius riffs and despite not being as powerful as Layne or Chris Cornell, Scott was a fantastic vocalist.
Great video! STP were one of grunge's finest bands, it's disappointing that people initially wrote them off as knockoffs, but they more than proved themselves as the '90s progressed as one of the decade's most exciting mainstream rock bands. RIP Scott Weiland 😢
Hell yeah. My favorite 90s band. All of STPs stuff is so cool and unique from the other music of the time, and I love when you can hear the jazz influence the DeLeo brothers bring to the music
Finally STP getting the love they deserve!!!! Undoubtably the most underrated band of the 90’s Thank you so much for this😭😭 Also sick tone thru the whole vid!! Literally spot on almost every song
Thank Robert DeLeo for some of the best riffs of the 90s. Honestly, I'm not sure if a lot of bands could make these riffs work. They sounded really good, even with riffs as simple as "Vaseline". 😆
@@bloxsy_brooooo please hear me out…. Gone, conspiracy, the acending part in cursed diamond, No speak no slave, thorn in my pride, sting me. A lot of these songs are open G and other open tunings but please give them some love 🥲 I m is you can nail the tone so good with these
does the tone really sound abrasive like this on the real songs? impressive how they can slip something like this on songs like interstate love song and it sounds so good
It’s probably my tone that is a bit too harsh like this. I think they layer the guitars on the record. On Interstate it sounds like there is a strat playing over a Les Paul on some sections. Very tastefully done I thought
Yo, those deep cuts! I learned a lot of these on guitar as a teenager, and they're burned into my muscle memory. Nevertheless, I rocked hard as you played every single one.
Boilermaker Pastoral Slave Ship Puss Dancing Naked Ladies Countless Backs of Sad Losers Thumper Postcoital Glow Bloody Mary Starlet Glamorous Sunday You Need Love The Test Anna
It is indeed. I also thought that this must be where The Vines got there inspiration from because it does have a similar vibe to what they did later on.
The DeLeo brothers are bossa nova fans and used to put unusual chords in their songs. STP is certainly underrated in its guitar parts
I didn’t know that. That explains a lot. You wouldn’t think chords like that could work in hard rock music but it really does.
@@bloxsy_ what effect do you use in Plush....? thanks
On Plush I'm using distortion and chorus.

heaven and hot rods is so good. it reminds me of dam that river
DUDE, SAME HERE HOLY SHIT. IT HAS THE SAME STRUCTURE AND ARE BOTH TRACK 2
Nice, good choices there. Ride the Cliche is a slippery little riff. Really like their albums Purple and Tiny Music.
I love Ride The Cliche. It reminds me of going to a barbecue on a nice summer day with a breeze and and blue sky
Love Big Bang Baby era STP. You can hear the glam influence coming through. Great band.
Definitely. Listening through their songs you can hear so many influences.
Thank you sir.
Thanks so much! Really appreciate that man.

Totally. The chords are so lush, and he plays them with such finesse.
We need a full cover of Trippin on a Hole
Amazing as always! Tone and playing style are perfectly on point. Would you be interested in Primus for a next video? Ler LaLonde has some sick riffs.
Thank you! Sure. I'm not familiar with Primus, but I'm always looking for new stuff to learn.
Those drop D riffs are awesome
Maaaan stp as a band has one of the best riff of all time. So classic but at the same time so innovative.
Nice tone btw
Thank you. Glad it sounded okay.
Excellent. I wasn't made on stp personally but I recognise them as all being talented musicians. Scott could sing so well
Sick man was waiting for this
Although I’m suprised you didn’t put wicked garden. That’s a killer riff
I love Interstate Love Song!
Finally STP getting the love they deserve!!!! Undoubtably the most underrated band of the 90’s
Thank you so much for this😭😭
Also sick tone thru the whole vid!! Literally spot on almost every song
Thank you so much. Yeah they don't get enough credit.
Fantastic, you always nail it. I would have included Sin, Where the river goes, and of course Army Ants. Very underrated track
Army ants is my favorite. Hopefully in part 2!
Great stuff! Black again is such a good riff, down is missing though one of my favourite riffs 🫡
Love to see some STP on here, Great job playing the songs man!!!
Thank you!
You impress me more and more, how cute!
You are a tone wizard. You just nail it every damn time.
ride the cliche is underrated as balls
Was waiting for this one. Plush is my fave of theirs . Great job as always !!
My favourite too. Thanks!
I love STP! Thank you!
love this band!
Phenomenal playing as always, STP is so underrated imo. Love them and their riffs are so badass.
Thanks dude. They really are.
Sin is definitely my favorite Stone Temple Pilots riff and song
It’s crazy how plush sounds with just the guitar playing.

Silvergun Superman!!
Very good. Great like 👍
Awesome as always but you forgot Wicked Guarden and Hollywood Bitch, they're great riffs too

Great if you could share tabs or chords during the play. Keep on rockin!
Thank you. Yeah I’ll think about doing that.
Yo, those deep cuts! I learned a lot of these on guitar as a teenager, and they're burned into my muscle memory. Nevertheless, I rocked hard as you played every single one.
It was time to do a video of STP ( great band)
can you do the top 10 U2 riffs?
Yeah I would do. Don’t know if I would need a strat for that or not.
@@bloxsy_most likely haha
Bravo! Some Jesus Lizard riffs would be amazing..
Thanks. Which Jesus Lizard riffs?
Boilermaker
Pastoral
Slave Ship
Puss
Dancing Naked Ladies
Countless Backs of Sad Losers

Crackerman ❤
Is it drop D tuning?
Some of them are. I should have listed them. Will put it in the description. Heaven and Hot Rods, Dumb Love and Silvergun Superman are in Drop D.
#stp4ever!!!!!!
Awesome band. You need to do Alice in Chains next.
Completely forgot what a tune Big Bang Baby is!!
It is indeed. I also thought that this must be where The Vines got there inspiration from because it does have a similar vibe to what they did later on.
@@bloxsy_ Too true. Cant wait for your ‘The Vines Riffs’ compilation…… hint hint 😀
Ah man why didn’t you play the rest of the Plush riff? 😬
Big Bang Baby is inspired by the British Glam of T. Rex and David Bowie.
what amp do you use
Boss katana

Like deployed 👍

Do an Incubus list
Which ones?
I expected to see Down on the list.
