Nikki, I knew somewhat how much work but I didn’t know how much goes into the end game , Next Time s Water Bottle and a Snack Sister ti e is money and your one of the bosses !!! Lol thanks for the video and your wright being outside like like nothing like 👍🇺🇸🙏
I love your videos. It reminds me of when I take a walk in the woods or a walk in the fields and search for arrowheads. People don't know what they are missing.
Pulling taps is enjoyable to me. I do it in early May, as soon as I can. Our season is pretty much April and it ended the 29th this year. The pressure is off and you can just enjoy the birds singing and in my case, get my springer spaniels some much needed exercise.
Hello from Texas. Nice to meet you. I found you from Facebook. I had you as a friend suggestion. I said let's see if they have a You Tube channel and here you are. Checking out your channel. Have a blessed day.
Thanks for sharing about removing all the taps! I did not know the impact on the maple tree health! I have heard that tapping trees impacts their growth rate from a logging perspective. We have some acreage that is leased to Maple operations in Pennsylvania and New York. Very glad to hear you’re strong desire promoting tree health! I also admire the amount of exercise that you get with the Maple collection and tapping operation! Good luck with your UA-cam channel I see you’re growing and it’s very interesting! You bring a lot of smiles to your profession and viewers! Best always, John
It is hard not to love the outdoors this time of year. Lots of wildflowers that change every week, comfortable walking, the woods are still wide open without leaves, so wildlife is much more readily seen.....and a big plus along my creek bottom, the bugs aren't out yet.
Because snakes move and sheds don't, that could be the reason you are seeing more snakes. Days like that in the woods makes me want to camp there overnight with no tent, just stars. Stay hydrated Superwoman.
Hello from Cornwall 🇬🇧. Seeing your bundle carrying struggles, google flat back pack frame. I modded something similar for a company that did tree planting work. Your way smart enough to rig up some pouches and straps to carry way more drops a trip. Hows the turkey count? 😎 👍🇬🇧👍
Its been years since I have seen a garter snake, we used to see them around once in a while. When I was a kid I had picked up one or two of them with my bare hands and what I found was that the snake left behind a very funky stinky smell if I was to smell my hands after.
Sure is a beautiful forest! How long does it take to remove all the taps? Sure beats an office for sure, just think of all that fresh air you're breathing while getting a workout!
@@MapleFarmer In total agreement, I was walking my dog in the country today, and was thinking about the huge workout you get in the forest. You inspire me! Today the dog and I went double our normal distance, working on getting back into shape. BTW, when I was 35 I was like you, super active with construction work, and one day unexpectedly got an ACL injury, was out of work for three months because of that! Stuff like that can happen, just a heads up.
I'm in the complete opposite where the animals are all out hauling azz every where... in total road rage. Some have no idea how to just enjoy a good day outside.
Hi Nikki, when you remove your drop lines do you put a cap on your infrastructure at the quick disconnect? How do you keep the pasts from inhabiting your drops and laterals in the off season?
Hey Nikki, I've started using maple syrup in place of sugar in my coffee in the morning and it taste great with a little added twist of maple flavor. I've used maple syrup in my baked pork and beans and to bast pork ribs before barbecuing them. Being you're in the maple syrup business, do you have any secret family recipes that have maple syrup in them that you want to share? How about any warm adult cocktail recipes that call for a shot of hot maple syrup? I'm thinking about trying to make a dessert topping by melting a stick of butter in a medium size frying pan over a medium to high heat and adding about a cup of maple syrup. I'll let it boil a lot of the water out of the syrup until it thickens and then add a couple of shots of 151 rum. The alcohol would evaporate almost immediately and create a fire hazard, but it will add the rum flavor to the maple and butter without the twang of the alcohol. Let it cool down for a minute and spoon the warm mix over vanilla ice cream for a diabetic's worst nightmare!
Yes you would. That's why loggers don't like tapped trees. There's a hard wood flooring company near me that sells it called maple syrup flooring. You can see the tap holes or marks in the wood. I think it's interesting.
Just curious, if I may ask are you married? I'm 70 yrs old, old enough to be your dad so no I'm not looking, again just curious as you are such a beautiful women with such a lovely smile.
I love this soul, more than my own soul, LOVE a very powerful force....
Nikki the snake charmer...and I would never have thought there would be so many in that region of the US, especially with the 'lake effect'.
Great morning work completed ! 👍👍
Wouldn't be a Boxler Maple video without a snake LOL!
But seriously 😂
Either the snakes find you, Or you find the snakes! 😂
Just wanted to say we got our maple syrup the other day and we LOVE it
Now that's quite a workout!
Yes it is! I always am in my best fitness shape during maple season!
Always love your videos Nikki!❤❤❤❤❤
Love seeing you and explaining maple farming
You need a 4 wheeler to unload droplines on now and then, and carry the picnic bag ;-) ;-)
6 months! Hope all is well with the family.
I usually find snake sheds in my firewood pile or in the lumber pile or on my sawmill.
They love wood and stone piles!
Cool vid. Love the woods. Thanks and keep them coming.
Those Crocuses sure are pretty
They are my favorite spring flowers
I ordered and received some of your maple syrup. It taste great. Thank you for all off you and your families hard work.

We certainly share your love for the outdoors, especially the woods.
Hope you or husband got yourselves a 🦃 opening weekend. 🤟🇺🇸
No turkey yet!
Me either 😟
Tap # 3 million done! Lol. It is amazing how much wildlife shows up on a warm spring day,it’s good for the soul👍
The best!
I live in the woods too and understand how lucky we are.
Those broad leaf plants are ramps, a wild onion, and very edible. Dig them up and you can eat the whole plant!
Yup! I made a ramp pesto pizza with them the other day! That UA-cam short will be coming soon!
You have a deft touch, which is impressive while wearing gloves. Much respect
Lovely spring shaping up.
I, like you, love the outdoors. No better place to be.
have to agree on the outdoors
Beautiful spring day!! 🌷
you're doing a wonderful job Niki!!.
I love your videos. It reminds me of when I take a walk in the woods or a walk in the fields and search for arrowheads. People don't know what they are missing.
You are amazing. I love that we can tang along with you.
Ah, springtime. Love watching everything in the forest green up after a long winter. And it means summer is on its way!
So glad that you get to do what you love to do. You are awesome. You look like you cook up some awesome meals. God Bless you Nikki.
Your woods are beautiful. Great video.
Thanks Becky!

Suggestion: put a trail cam in your woods and show us all the timid woodland creatures who are out and about.
You are definitely a hard working lady 💪 great job and great video. 👍
Thank you!

Great video. Please keep showing more - cleaning drops and lines...
That was a lot of drop lines!

Great job love watching your vids all spring! Your wrapping up as we're gearing up for season....!!

That’s probably the reason!
Your dad's invention is really slick for pulling taps. I like the price!
Beautiful,,,

Thank you for mentioning the wild Wood Ducks and the deer. Nature is sharing with you. What did the woodpeckers say?
I interested also in your dairy. Maybe a video on silage
Upstate NY is probably a lot like MN. Only place in this state that has venomous snakes is the deep southeast along the Mississippi river bluffs.
Hi Nikki, How soon do you start running lines for the winter? When do your videos start up again? Hope you had an awesome summer! Jim
I love how clean and organized you’re! Another great video! I get that way to, then I get hangry lol you didn’t seem hangry. Lol
I see you are wearing your glasses again.
Very groovy. How many steps do you get while running all those lines.
The Snake must be your totem or animal guide
That is an amazing amount of lines running through the woods!
Sure is a beautiful forest! How long does it take to remove all the taps? Sure beats an office for sure, just think of all that fresh air you're breathing while getting a workout!
The best kind of workout!

Good job Nikki!! As always, enjoyed the video. Any plans to take your viewers fishing or to the family dairy farm?
Dairy farm- definitely! My fishing videos never seem to do well 😂
I'm in the complete opposite where the animals are all out hauling azz every where... in total road rage.
Some have no idea how to just enjoy a good day outside.
Do you ever get mud dobbing insects plugging your open lines during the summer?
I was wondering the same thing. I wondered how they dealt with bugs getting in the lines over the summer.
How do you keep the larger critters in the forest from knocking down those lines? Or even squirrels chewing on them?
Hope to see a video on the farm side like the milking opp
When do we get to see the dairy operations please? Thanks! Love your stories and videos.
God Bless and be safe. 👌🇺🇸
Soon! I’m almost out of maple videos, only like 2 left before I switch gears!
Hi Nikki, when you remove your drop lines do you put a cap on your infrastructure at the quick disconnect? How do you keep the pasts from inhabiting your drops and laterals in the off season?
How do you clean your line and dry them out. Do your quick couple spouts seal up. Can you do a video on it?
Great video your the snake whisper
Hi Nikki. I really enjoy your content. Do you do anything to your lines (sanitation) after pulling your taps? Is there a video link you can share?

Love your outdoor videos, would a trappers pack hold more taps for you ? I worked outdoors all my life , can’t beat it. 👍
Will you start flushing lines when all the taps are pulled?? Or can that wait? Love your videos! Jim
Yes we will do that once they are pulled!
Oh ! so you do have wild garlic in your wood ;)
If you were to mill one of the trees you've tapped, would you see the taps from over the years in the plank?
Yes you would. That's why loggers don't like tapped trees. There's a hard wood flooring company near me that sells it called maple syrup flooring. You can see the tap holes or marks in the wood. I think it's interesting.
As Dzl said brown heart wood streaks run below and above the tap hole
Just curious, if I may ask are you married? I'm 70 yrs old, old enough to be your dad so no I'm not looking, again just curious as you are such a beautiful women with such a lovely smile.
Yes she is
Yes I am. Rings just don’t mix well with farm work, I tried the silicone ones but they break
Different colors different sizes of tubing or just for usage area in system?
Do you remove the horizontal lines for cleaning or can you clean them in place ?
Clean them in place. They get replaced about every 10 years
What do you do with the lateral stub during the summer? You Leave it hang or you plug it in the tee’s cup
question??? do you plant any trees to replace storm damage, blow overs? or do you just let nature replant for you.
do you clean/sterilize the taps before putting them away for the off season?
Do you know how many pounds per tap this year?
Do you plant new maple trees as well?
Saucy grey brown scutt
do you find many morel mushrooms in your woods at this time of year
How do you choose your main runs?
have fun,,Sweetheart
Good vidio, you need a pack goat to help carry things
👍
Yea like the one you found in your car lol
the CC at 1:41 should be "ssssssssssyrup? I'd like some sssssyrup please."
Do you untap by your self
Hey, call me and my faithful dog to come up there to back you up? ehhh?
Are you single?
Nope. Married!
@@MapleFarmer I think he may be asking if you have children. He is probably thinking you would make a great role model. Now, I may be wrong.
