It was an honor to have known and heard Ryan perform many times. The last performance I saw was at ITG Conference in San Antonio TX in 2018. Many truly great trumpet players joined him on stage for that performance including Doc Severinsen, Jens Lindemann, David Hickman and so many others; too many to name them all. And yet, Ryan stood out; his tone so pure; his joy of playing the trumpet so evident; his projection and execution was absolutely perfect. I will never forget that day! I miss you Ryan.
Ryan always made playing trumpet look effortless and look like he was enjoying the music as much as we enjoyed hearing him. A happy player and what a beautiful tone. Move over Gabriel! Thank you Ryan for your gift to the world. What an impact you have had on the people around you.
