"It's different for you and I." It always was. Riley is the only constant female presence in his life who hears him calmly, speaks to him with no agenda, and understands without effort. Even if only friends, their relationship was like breathing: vital and effortless.
Btw, they'd be wonderful parents, just imagine with that kind of friendship/trust/companionship as foundation + both their genius-fun personalities, I definitely would want them to adopt me. 😂
To be honest thinking about their relationship in the beginning I wouldn't call them "friends" - they were work colleagues: Jack and Bozer were always between them: If they didn't work together they wouldn't even know each other. They didn't even keep in touch after Pheonix went down. It just bugs me they can't be honest with themselves - essentially they chose the job over each other and that just sucks.
