A friend and I met Mike and Morgan Harris on a 1997 trip to southern Utah. They are the locals who scouted and created the trails on Goose and Little Creek. It's an honor for me to think about my time riding with Mike and Morgan over the years. All the vids I've seen of Goose (Goozbree, in local parlance) remind me of their amazing riding technique and smoothness of effort. They were in their mid-50s at that time, and they SHOWED us how it was done. After a few twice-yearly visits to Goose, we were able to ride the whole South Rim (from the parking lot toward The Point) without dabbing (okay, certainly a few spots took a few tries). Our inspiration to try and try again, of course, came from the creators. Unbelievably wonderful men. Kind, humble, and crushingly funny! The point of all this is that we must recognise the folks who came before us. We have this fun because they did the work. Peace.
Amen! Thanks for sharing . So grateful for their efforts . The impact they have had on me and countless others because of their passion ,can never be repaid .
Hi Erik! I'm writing a story for USA TODAY about biking in Greater Zion. I would love to include you in the article to comment on Mike and Morgan. May I email you a few questions today?
Just rode Wire Mesa a few weeks ago, very easy easy trail, nothing difficult about it, all rideable without getting off the bike counter clockwise. If you are a mountain biker, its a piece of cake, very fun. rode .69 miles of gooseberry and turned around, was alone. that .69 was easy, beyond that, hell if i know, but the black diamond trails are really easy, if you are a mountain biker. if you just started MTB, then best be ready to walk and walk alot.
Truly my favorite trail. Zen is incredible but steeper terrain, harder. I love Little Creek Mesa for a Goose warmup. Been here 4 times, not nearly enough.
Watched this video a couple of weeks ago, then went out and rode the same loop. Amazing fun. Brutal punchy climbs. Rock rolls. Awesome views. Loved every single second of it.
Funny story, The Goose is Loos Chasing Epic video is one of the first I watched as I started getting into biking as well! But this video is some of your best work and has me itching to get back on the Goose!
Did gooseberry for the first time yesterday. What an amazing trail. Definitely a technical challenge, but honestly the hardest part for me was just following the white lines. Never crashed, but got pretty close a couple times when I lost the white dots and took some not so great lines. Can't imagine completing the trail with no dabs, but maybe some day.
I had some of those zero dabs in my crew .. pretty amazing if you think about it .. glad you got to see first hand just how great it was .. and your weather was perfect 🤛🏻
So now I know why I wasn't invited to Gooseberry Mesa. It looks like such a riding paradise. I will be able to handle it on my next trip there, trust me! Another great video, nailed that camera work 💯
@@RidingMyBestLife my favorite route... start at Practice then across bowls and Ledges to North rim to the point. Then the south rim all the way back to the parking lot. So amazing out there!
Great video Jason and awesome riding! Your videos inspire me to get off the couch and get out and ride everyday!
Now if I can inspire you to make more UA-cam videos it will be a win win . Thanks brother
Me too! The only time I stay ON the couch is when I'm watching his UA-cam videos 😁
Heading over there Saturday for a week. Thanks for the order of operations tip. Wire Mesa, Guacamole, Gooseberry Mesa.
Enjoy . Camped up there two of the last 3 weekends . Love those trails . Little creek is also very fun , just across the highway from Gooseberry .
@@RidingMyBestLife Going over with 55+ Denver Mtn Biking Meetup group. They are all on my list.

Just so you know if you like Mexican food tomatillo is a member of the gooseberry family
Live Mexican food .. thanks for the info. Love learning new things

Gooseberry is soo awesome! I need to get out there and do that one again. Great riding! 👊
Most of this was new routes for me .. usually just go south to north .. I need to explore even more .. it’s all so good

This place looks so amazing! Love the rocks and the up and down haha! Subbed!
Awesome thanks Murray 👊🏻
It's difficult yes but so much grip on the slick rock allows you to ride features that you might not be able to otherwise.
100% looks like I’m riding it again Friday . Hope to clean a couple more of the tough climbs . So fun 👊🏻
Are these the hiking trails also?
Yes 👍
@@RidingMyBestLife why I won’t camp up there anymore.
Great video composition man. Us mountain bikers are gluttons for punishment.
Thanks for watching .. I enjoy making these .. and yes we are gluttons for sure .. pain thrown in with a side of pleasure 👊🏻
I love hiking this trail.. All of the bikers always look miserable...
Miserable but stoked 😀😀
