  • Today we ride one of the absolute best mountain bike trails in all of southern Utah. The trail it is known to all as Gooseberry Mesa. Before I started mountain biking just a little over three years ago. I watched a UA-cam video that inspired me. The video was by a guy named Brian Kennedy who has a successful UA-cam channel called BKXC . He was riding with the chasing epic mountain bike tour group. The story he told, along with the sheer beauty of the video inspired me to buy a bike and start riding. Fast for three years and I'm doing the same and try to inspire others to ride as well. Gooseberry mesa is no joke of a mountain bike trail. Even though I was just a beginner when I started to ride this trail, I would not recommend it to anybody who is not at least an intermediate Mountain biker. I sometimes wish I would have waited, as the many crashes that I have had on this trail have actually left scars. The thing that makes gooseberry Mesa so difficult, is that it never gives you a break. You are constantly forced to climb over or down large boulders and through type and narrow shoots. It also has some very extreme exposure both on the south and north rim Trail's. What are the nice things about gooseberry is that someone has painted white dots how long the entire trail which makes it very difficult to get lost. If you can keep track of these dots and follow the trail it makes it much easier to survive. Gooseberry mesa is a must ride trail, for those who are up for the adventure. It is one of the best single track mountain bike Mesa Trail's and all of the world, and certainly one of the best in southern Utah. I am created this video in hopes to inspire others to ride add to share what has become one of my favorite trails to ride. thanks for joining me and my Yeti SB130 as we adventure through life . simply put I'm riding my best life

A friend and I met Mike and Morgan Harris on a 1997 trip to southern Utah. They are the locals who scouted and created the trails on Goose and Little Creek. It's an honor for me to think about my time riding with Mike and Morgan over the years. All the vids I've seen of Goose (Goozbree, in local parlance) remind me of their amazing riding technique and smoothness of effort. They were in their mid-50s at that time, and they SHOWED us how it was done. After a few twice-yearly visits to Goose, we were able to ride the whole South Rim (from the parking lot toward The Point) without dabbing (okay, certainly a few spots took a few tries). Our inspiration to try and try again, of course, came from the creators. Unbelievably wonderful men. Kind, humble, and crushingly funny! The point of all this is that we must recognise the folks who came before us. We have this fun because they did the work. Peace.

Just rode Wire Mesa a few weeks ago, very easy easy trail, nothing difficult about it, all rideable without getting off the bike counter clockwise. If you are a mountain biker, its a piece of cake, very fun. rode .69 miles of gooseberry and turned around, was alone. that .69 was easy, beyond that, hell if i know, but the black diamond trails are really easy, if you are a mountain biker. if you just started MTB, then best be ready to walk and walk alot.

Truly my favorite trail. Zen is incredible but steeper terrain, harder. I love Little Creek Mesa for a Goose warmup. Been here 4 times, not nearly enough.

Did gooseberry for the first time yesterday. What an amazing trail. Definitely a technical challenge, but honestly the hardest part for me was just following the white lines. Never crashed, but got pretty close a couple times when I lost the white dots and took some not so great lines. Can't imagine completing the trail with no dabs, but maybe some day.
