Riding My Best Life .. dedicated to sharing the love of mountian biking . My mission is to have fun and encourage others to get off the couch and get out and ride .. Mountian biking is the perfect sport to get in shape , meet new friends and get that much needed stress relieving adrenaline rush every time . As I grow , progress and learn to be a better mountain biker , I will share my journey .. My journey started 2018 with the passing of my Mom after a brief battle with cancer. I was depressed out of shape and overweight. Started riding and it helped heal me mind body and soul. RMBL is Riding My Best Life , I really am.
My plan is simple:
Have fun
Inspire
Learn and share MTB skills
Explore and share new trails
Mountain Bike and Product reviews
Trail reviews
How to film great videos
never take it to seriously and approach life with fun and humor
I may even throw in some ASMR who knows.

I'm still alive.
Its been over a year since I've posted any UA-cam videos. Sorry! I'll try to post more. Ive been pretty active on Instagram. @ridingmybestlife . A reel there gets 30k views vs only like 1500 views on YT. And it take so much longer to create for UA-cam. But regardless, I like the format and will return someday with something fresh. Until then here is proof of life.

Pain After Riding? It could be from poor technique.

It seemed every time I rode my mountain bike I had to deal with body pain. After watching the GoPro Footage of a few rides, we figured out what was causing it. Poor Mountain Bike Skills or general lack of technique.

As usual the trails were epic the stoke was leveled up and we all had a great time. If you have ever wondered if a trip to Sedona was worth the effort, the answer...

When your ride starts with a call to 911 and a visit from search and rescue you might ask your self what was iithinking. I was way out of my comfort zone and riding super sketchy terrain and loved it. One member of our group was not so lucky and crashed on the first feature. It is a pretty somber start to a ride. It reminded me to ride with in my limits . This is a cautionary tale of sorts with...

Looking at this model on sale right now and we live in the same area. Happy to see that it slays the local trails (Prospector?)
Or of church rocks and Dino but yes, and that sale it’s pretty amazing. I’ve actually sent a couple friends over to look at them already. If you get one, I hope you love it.
Heading over there Saturday for a week. Thanks for the order of operations tip. Wire Mesa, Guacamole, Gooseberry Mesa.
Enjoy . Camped up there two of the last 3 weekends . Love those trails . Little creek is also very fun , just across the highway from Gooseberry .

EXCELLENT! Thanks for presenting!
Hey just found your channel. I have a Wire Peak comp, just picked it up a couple weeks ago. I went back and forth for well over a year about whether to get one. I have light asthma that only manifests when I'm really pushing hard. I rode with some buddies and couldn't keep up, figured it was a problem of getting in better shape (I was 5 10 and 220lbs at the time, so a bit overweight but nothing insane). So I started doing 7 miles 3+ times a week. Not crazy climbs, more for the cardio, +- 150 feet is all. Then my knees started hurting. Discovered I have osteoarthritis in both knees. Had to have surgery. Six months and 20lbs later, I got on my La Sal Peak to start riding again. Started with neighborhood rides, 1/2 mile, 1 mile. After a few weeks of that I moved to a little dirt but completely flat still, 2-3 miles. Did that three times and couldn't walk, couldn't ride. Had to start icing my knees again. So I decided to try an eMTB. First time ever one one, I did 18 miles and almost 800ft climbing. Didn't hurt. I sweat like a bear in heat. Went and picked up a used Wire Peak the next week. That was 18 days ago. I've done 210 miles in 18 hours and climbed over 10,600 feet since then. Stairs hurt my knees, a bit, and standing and getting down on my knees or sitting on the floor hurts a bit. But riding? I can do that all day long. I've lost about 8lbs and feel better physically than I have in years.
In regards to wrecking and such, I've had one wreck since starting up again, due to hitting a sandy, off-camber slope at the wrong angle and with not enough psi in my tires resulting in rolling then sliding out from under me. But I have been really careful. Knowing a bad fall could mean serious trouble, and not being able to stand up for long periods of time on downhills, has made me a lot more cautious about speeds and what I will attempt. But even still, I'm improving my technique faster than I did on my analog bike.
I hope this video isn't you exiting the mtb hobby.
Looks like a great place
It’s been a minute since I rode this spot . But very cool place . Some friends rode this morning and spotted one of our rare endangered tortoises . Pretty lucky where I live 👍
🎉🎉🎉 stoked to see this full trail video from you! Love seeing some familiar faces too 🤘
Thanks .. can’t wait to come up again and ride your shuttle . I’ve sent a few people to your site. Hope it’s filling up 👍👍
@@RidingMyBestLife oh thanks dude! That's very cool of you!
Nice video! What’s the name of this trail? I’m from Brazil. Gonna visit for the first time the trails in hurricane area. Witch trails do you recommend for us with a great view and flow? Thank you so much. Nice job, your videos are amazing 🤘🏾
This trail started on church rocks , and ended on one we call Dino . Most people who travel here to ride love to ride gooseberry Mesa . It has the best views . We don’t have a lot of flow our trails because of how many rocks we have . But you can find short bursts . If you have a few days .. start with church rocks or paradise rim to get use to the terrain . Then head out for a Mesa ride . Gooseberry, Wire, guacamole or little creek . All have videos on this channel if you want to preview them . If you have time and want more flow . Jump in the car drive to Richfield utah , a little over 2 hours away and shuttle all 19 miles of spinal tap … hope this helps , safe travel and thanks for reaching out .
Just rode Wire Mesa a few weeks ago, very easy easy trail, nothing difficult about it, all rideable without getting off the bike counter clockwise. If you are a mountain biker, its a piece of cake, very fun. rode .69 miles of gooseberry and turned around, was alone. that .69 was easy, beyond that, hell if i know, but the black diamond trails are really easy, if you are a mountain biker. if you just started MTB, then best be ready to walk and walk alot.
A friend and I met Mike and Morgan Harris on a 1997 trip to southern Utah. They are the locals who scouted and created the trails on Goose and Little Creek. It's an honor for me to think about my time riding with Mike and Morgan over the years. All the vids I've seen of Goose (Goozbree, in local parlance) remind me of their amazing riding technique and smoothness of effort. They were in their mid-50s at that time, and they SHOWED us how it was done. After a few twice-yearly visits to Goose, we were able to ride the whole South Rim (from the parking lot toward The Point) without dabbing (okay, certainly a few spots took a few tries). Our inspiration to try and try again, of course, came from the creators. Unbelievably wonderful men. Kind, humble, and crushingly funny! The point of all this is that we must recognise the folks who came before us. We have this fun because they did the work. Peace.
Amen! Thanks for sharing . So grateful for their efforts . The impact they have had on me and countless others because of their passion ,can never be repaid .
Hi Erik! I'm writing a story for USA TODAY about biking in Greater Zion. I would love to include you in the article to comment on Mike and Morgan. May I email you a few questions today?

is late Feb a good time to go?
Usually .. but we got snow today . Takes a few days for the ground to dry up . Church Rocks and Paradise rim would be good to go if this is mud .
The John Trail in Cave Creek is amazing too ! just rode all that yesterday. Thanks for the vid
Nice video! How did you like the trails in Phoenix compared to St. George?
Both good , but I must say I prefer St George . Seems more grip to them .
Do they even sell these sockets at HF anymore?
Last time I checked .
Ha Gay!
What about the Narwhal mount on your helmet? Did you have any other conclusions? For a bouncy, mtb ride seems a non starter. But for walking, skiing, skating or light jogging on smooth surfaces maybe not so bad? Thanks!
Perfect for that . I’ve seen it in action skiing and it was legit awesome . I would imagine skating is perfect .
@@RidingMyBestLife thanks! Just wondering 'cause you talked about it moving your helmet around.
@@slowsk8r33 it did but not enough to kill the footage . I’ve also used it extended about 4 inches straight on top of helmet and footage was pretty cool .
Great video, you inspired me to ride Gooseberry and the ebike part of the video was f'n funny!!
Thanks Mike . So glad you got to experience Goose . And thanks for watching . I got to ride it about 2 wks ago . It never gets old
I love the GoPro MAX too! It's a crazy cam and I don't see myself turning back to standard sports cams anymore
I’m going to mount it on my drone soon and see what kind of video it produces .
I need better shoes
How is replay on the fly? Imagine shooting a 1-2minutes and wanting to watch it on the spot, more like a quick replay vs go home, editing, etc. Thanks!
It’s pretty easy . I do a quick transfer to my phone , the app gives you the ability to see the 360 footage . Not great if just using the camera video screen .
@@RidingMyBestLife Thanks! I don't need more than several minutes of capture. How much editing on my phone is possible or even needed? I'm not aiming for small world views, I need forward, side, rear views of myself.
@@slowsk8r33 pretty minimal and super easy . GoPro did a great job keeping it simple .
@@RidingMyBestLife Thanks for your feedback. I need to catch action from my waist to the ground, I'm a skater. I'm a total noob on the 360 camera angles. If the camera is on my helmet will be able to re-frame to "see" my hips, knees, and feet? Will I need a side mount? I'd prefer not hold the selfie stick. Thanks again!
Best advice I can give is just experiment a bit till you find the angle you want . 👊🏻👊🏻
Good to see a video from you again, it's been too long.
I have a ton of footage .. just need to sit down and edit . The lure of the easy reel on instagram took away my focus .. thanks for watching 👊🏻
I crash less when I am not following my kids
“That’s gonna leave a mark” gets me every time! 🤣🫠
And it did. 13 stitches 🥹
True story! I drove him to the instacare 😂
I use that same technique... I never really put 2 and 2 together until now? You may have just saved me from a doctor's visit? Thanks for the insight🤣🤣🤣
I crashed way to much before I discovered 90%of it was poor body position on the bike . Now I have balance and have not crashed in a while .. knock on wood 😀
Awesome video. I just did the mod to my rear shock and cut the spacer out to make it a lunch ride. Did you also mod the front for or did you leave it alone at 150mm? I have a Fox Performance fork with 150mm travel. I didn't know if people were just modding the rear shock or also the fork. I see you can buy a air shaft assembly to increase front travel. Or do you have to change the whole damper?
I also changed the air spring to 160 up front . . And I upgraded to bigger brake rotors. Love this bike .. side note cracked this frame somehow Yeti replaced with newer one 2021 brick red .
@@RidingMyBestLife awesome. I will order a air spring. So the damper has nothing to do with it right? Travel is only on the air spring side ? Shitty the frame broke but hey, a new frame is always good. My whole bike is color matches with accessories. So if I broke a frame I would have to redo my whole color scheme lol
@@Brain_3D correct , some call it the air shaft assembly . It was pretty easy to switch out . I’m sure I watched a couple UA-cam how to edits .
This has to be my favorite downhill trail in richfield
I can’t argue that . It’s legit awesome . If you haven’t had the chance to ride the completed 18 miles of spinal tap , it’s amazing as well.
500W battery kinda sucks for 2022. The weakest aspect of this bike by far.
CAn you shuttle this ride?
Yes .. and it’s even better now than when I made this video . They have added more trail and one called spinal tap is possibly the best 18 mile shuttle DH trail in Utah .
WOW Great video! Just saw this for the first time. Cheers man. Thanks for all the nice words. Hope all is well!
Thanks Braydon .. I’ve only ridden this trail once since , but riding it tomorrow 👊🏻 I watched the trailer for your upcoming movie . Can not wait to watch it . Congrats

Church Rocks? Wonder what the weight is on the upper model.
It was close to 50lbs I think . Church Rocks for the win 👍👊🏻
nice riding
Thank you for this great review. I want to strongly +1 the positive sentiment in this review re upgrading the sb130 to a lunch ride. I'm an aggressive rider and have appreciated the additional bite from the brakes, Assegai 2.5" on the front is game changer, and 2.4" DHR II on the rear. The additional travel on this bike is remarkable. The techy climbing is better, stronger cornering, more playful jumping, while expanding confidence at very high speeds. I had the brakes and tires upgrades ahead of suspension and after watching this review I decided to go 160/137 when suspension was being worked on. Thank you again!
Awesome ! Thanks for reaching out . Team Yeti for the win 👊🏻
