That speed is only accurate when making a horizontal motion. As soon as the aircraft climbs under a specific angle, the speed indicated on the phone is lower than it actually is.
This GPS speedometer shows only horizontal speed. Just get the climbing angle with another phone and do lil bit math to get the actual speed. So simple. Or there are more advanced app like phyphox which can do advance maths and do some accurate measurements.

It is just wrong indication of the speed, because the plane is in climbing(app shows just horizontal speed), so it may looks like the plane is slowing down, but in fact its speed is even bigger.

Its also possible that head wind increases with altitude. But the phone is only able to show ground speed. But airspeed is important To remain airbone.

Speed goes down on the phone, because it calculates the speed relative to the ground ( horizontal). The plane is in fact going faster, but into the sky

Speed limit up to 10,000ft is 250 knots. After 10,000ft it’s unrestricted and most planes top out at 320kt ias.

I don´t think the speed is decreasing, but rather the app is measuring the horizontal speed in relation to the ground, and since the plane is climbing at an angle to the ground the speed shown on the phone decreases. I might be wrong though.

The speed does not reduce after takeoff. The app uses a gps connection to get the speed and the app uses distance covered in unit time to calculate the speed. But since the aircraft is climbing the there is a horizontal and a vertical component of the speed And the app can only measure the horizontal component that is according to the app the speed decreases
Yeah u r right. So once the airplane reached the stable altitude, then the real speed is almost same as horizontal speed which GPS indicates.
Takes off at around 180 MPH for the people who use imperial units.

Almost after an hour i had seen a peak speed of somewhere around 1150km/hr and that also a domestic flight..
Planes rarely go over 900, especially in these economic days.
