Thank you! I came here because all of our strawberries had mold on them. We just got them about 4 days ago. I've never purchased fruits and vegetables, so I googled what to do with each one. They didn't mention the things that you did. This is a very helpful video.
covering cilantro and parsley with a plastic bag works wonders! I also renew the water once in a while. I've had them last over 3 weeks so far :) my cilantro is even sprouting roots
I do not use aluminum foil with my food. For celery, I cut off the bottom and store them in a tall container that has a cover, filled with water, and placed in the fridge. The celery lasts a very long time and no toxic aluminum.
Good information, but I have discovered that storing banana's on the counter top in a grocery bag or the bag you place them in when buying from the grocery, or both, then cover them with a huge dark bowl, as I have a huge Tupperware black bowl slows down the banana's from ripening. Also when freezing banana's, peel banana's, then place 3-5 side by side in a quart freezer bag, zip lock, then fold over freeze tape or masking tape it, write banana's on it and the date of storage. Could last 6 mos or more this way, excellent for banana nut bread, or to make a banana milkshake with.
I have been doing this for several years now it works great. It works great with blueberries as well. I was taught never to wash your berries until using them.

Bell peppers and tomatoes do not go in the fridge. It makes them rot faster.
what if the pepper has been cut already. like using portion and saving rest for later?
Wow !!! Load of needed information !!

What about lemons and potatoes? Both out of fridge
Both can be stored in the fridge to preserve their life and to prevent sprouting (potatoes).
Any suggestions for kale?
Wash it, then roll them like a cinnamon rolls in a paper/kitchen towel. It helps keep the moisture at bay. Store in fridge.
An banana could i dice an store in sealed container in fridge
This was amazing! Thank you 😊
You are welcome. Happy to help
Actually if you unwashed strawberries and put them in a mason jar in the fridge they will last 3 to 4 weeks
Thank's I'm going to try that. 🙂

Great job
Why is it that veggies and fruit that I grow even when stored the proper way still doesn't last as long as grocery store veggies and fruit?
The store picks breeds solely for surviving transportation. They’re also sprayed with stuff you don’t use in your own garden.
@@RoseLane03 totally. I was trying to get people that didn't know to think.
@@handlenot030 what are you going on about?
Strawberries carry worms, wash in baking soda and salt
