Lawd that hotel is nostalgic af, my elementary school was located in a dutch-indo neighborhood and that hotel reeks of my childhood so bad, I can almost smell the dampness in the air coupled with the movie like ambience that fills every corner of the place. Most Indonesians wouldn’t stay in such hotels because we’re generally superstitious and cowardly, so I hope more and more foreigners would stay at those hotels (for the interesting culture/experience at least!) so that they can keep up with the maintenance cost.
I don't think you're normal Man. I'm Javanese, East Javanese to be precise. But there's no way I could eat sambal with that level of heat and still able to think, talk, smile and looks nice like you did. I'd be a mess, sweat, cry, snot, hickup, cough and probably a bonus trip to the ER at the end of the day. 😂
i was live in Surabaya for 6 years, there are many hidden gems of culinary you should take a look. My favourite one are Rawon Pasar Pucang and Nasi Cumi Jalan Waspada near Pasar Atum.
If you are still in the city of Surabaya, come to the Pabean market and Atom market because there are so many sellers of legendary Surabaya snacks and foods
A Babyface looks when you smile and laugh, Max. I assume you and friends weren't the only guests who hardly to find a room😁. the hotel is nice, classic dutch style, but kinda creepy at night. Unbelievable, how you ate that sambal, Max👏. So comfy the way you eating with fingers. Nice ending😶🌫️🙈.
Paling deg2an pas review hotelnya .. detail bgt.. 😅 tiap hotel harus punya karyawan quality control spt mas Max ini supaya hotelnya selalu terjaga kerapihan kebersihan dan mengganti peralatan yg udh jadul2
There'es a place called Surabaya North Quay at the top of Tanjung Perak. I love to visit there, eating some snacks and enjoying sunset at the port. Last month I tried noodle and dimsum inside Tunjungan Market near Majapahit Hotel. Anyway, I think the difference between ayam penyet and geprek is the batter. Ayam penyet without batter but so flavorfull, the chicken marinated in special spices. Ayam geprek fried with batter. The original style of ayam geprek is from Yogyakarta and it's similar to ayam penyet style.
Wow you lucky dude, your friend bring you to stay at majapahit hotel. The most historical hotel for indonesia independence. The incident for tearing dutch flag (red-white-blue) the blue color one, into indonesian flag (red-white) by surabayanese people, was happen in that hotel...
my best bro max chris you both are looking handsome you guys are the best thank you for your huge respect against cpec friendship countries lot of love from your cousin viki 💙
Wow you are the only Caucasian UA-camr who eats with his hands very well, I really like seeing you eat chili sauce very voraciously❤️❤️welcome Surabaya bro😍😍
Wew Max you getting better eat with your hand! Be carefull to take the sambal by ur hand it could give burning sensation (wedangen) 😂. Btw please try Rawon Pak Pangat Max
I love it when you are with street food. Anywhere else you’re so darned American and crass. Old things, history, basic research and basic spatial sensory awareness, not your thing. Also prefer your nonVietnamese videos. At least you don’t have to show off your schoolboy Vietnamese throwing in your Nuoc this and Banh that which confuses the crap out of us mere mortals. But still, follow all your vids! 👍🏽🙏🏽
I'm surprised that foreigners like to eat spicy... even though there are many vlogs I've seen they don't like spicy food....ok, enjoy crazy spicy in Surabaya
Sama aja macam org Indonesia, banyak juga yg ngga bisa makan pedas macam teman2 saya..Di Amrik ada bbrp daerah yg banyak makanan pedasnya misal Amerika selatan
Cara maemnya udh fasih 😄, muluk nasi sama sambal rapi ga belepotan, hebat 👏
Congratulations!
Skill unlocked: eating with hand technique properly like locals.
