Matt Palmer plays Linear Singularity by Andy Mitchell. This world premiere performance was originally performed for the Baltimore Classical Guitar Society in Spring 2021. "Linear Singularity is about the growth of Artificial Intelligence, as represented by music. If you’re unfamiliar, the Singularity is the event-sometime in the future-when AI will become more intelligent than humans. This composition depicts the calculated growth of AI into something fast, complex, and possibly threatening" - Andy Mitchell
This piece was kindly dedicated to Matt Palmer. Thanks Andy!

It's wild that this just popped up in my recommended videos... Andy Mitchell was my guitar teacher when I was around 10 or 11, his Koyunbaba really had a huge impact on me. This is really well done.
Gettin’ some serious Darth Vader vibes. Well played!
Awesome performance, Matt, both technically and musically--you totally get what I was trying to say in every moment of the piece. Thanks so much for playing my music, I feel like it's in very good hands!
As both a classical guitarist and a machine learning engineer, this piece perfectly fits my expectations. Amazing composition and incredible playing by Matt.
The music captures the concept well - a swirling increase in complexity with a threatening edge amid the beauty. Excellent composition and playing of it. Kudos!
Bit of Usher waltz in spots, cool piece .
Loving the bone dry recording here. No hiding behind the reverb in some big church. Awesome stuff.
@john cash The comment section on UA-cam does not allow me to explain this properly.
Wow! I'm not even an amateur, just a country bumpkin living in a big city, but this is phenomenal! I like too how it starts out minimalist and works toward an unreal complexity that seems to be a sonic illusion, at least for a regular dude like me! This well depicts what I didn't didn't know about AI termed as Linear Singularity as it reaches beyond what seems possible to execute. Thanks for sharing such phenomenal talent!
🇧🇷 great virtuoso
Remarkable! Congratulations Matt! looks like you put some serious time learning that piece!
I enjoyed every moment of it upon first listen.. wow!
