I felt so bad for Catherine here At her lowest moment she was reminded of everything that ever went wrong since she came to Russia all while holding onto what happened to Peter by herself :( If there’s a S4 I hope George dies in an excruciating and horrible way she was so needlessly cruel
As an audience member I understood Catherine’s humiliation from the play but then again looking back at everything that happened within the show almost all of this is the harsh reality of Catherine’s reign. She came to Russia to marry Peter with a romantic view of him. But that perspective of him died after the first episode. Then she decided to overthrow the Emperor and rule Russia while not knowing a thing about it. There were barely any times where Catherine had taken the time to understand how the country worked and how it’s people lived. She spoke to a couple people in the palace and decided she’d be the better ruler. While Catherine technically is the better ruler, she isn’t by much. She lead her reign with promises she still has yet to fulfill, from what I’ve seen so far. She has many great ideas and is a remarkable young woman, but she lives in a world of delusions. She barely takes the time to think her plans out and how the people will feel. She believes that because she is the future that everything will go her way. She claims she wants to give people a voice but then tells them the people are wrong for sharing a different opinion than hers. Catherine rules with her heart not her mind. Her decisions had been based on what she wanted to do and not ultimately how people would feel. It was to no one’s surprise that the people rose against her in the end because she loved Russia but she did not understand it’s people. She didn’t understand how things worked so she simply chose to change things that she didn’t like. I love this show truly and I love Catherine as a character but Season 2 and 3 were the worst we’ve seen of her so far. She has this childish way of thinking “I’m right and you’re wrong” because she is willing arrogant. Hopefully we see change in Catherine later on in the show 🙏🏾
Perfect observation!!!! I couldn’t agree more especially her arrogance. Her choices affect the people, especially lower class, more and it can change their lives forever. Catherine ignoring her people will obviously cause rebellion or even just straight up hating the monarchy. So people mocking her is NO surprise.
To an extent, however, Kataya’s interpretation is totally biased in Orlo’s favor, not acknowledging any faults of his role in her leadership and making him some unsung hero whom Catherine blithely ignored. It was also oddly crass for a character that never seemed to behave that way. She deserved her extended ‘writer’s residency’.
Catherine was not only a better ruler she was actually a ruler. Peter was useless and never cares about Russia. They actually managed to make him more competent in the series.
I loath George so much at this moment, she knew what Catherine’s feels abt Peter’s death but she just don’t care. Pretending to be Catherine’s friends at the same backstabbing her
If that were real and say I had been Catherine and I had the power that she had and they put a play on like that in front of me , well let's just say they would never be in another play .
I really feel the writers failed with George. The mean girl thing got really flat after season 2. They led us to believe that secretly George was an intelligent woman but an intelligent woman wouldn't have kept trying to undermine Catherine after Peter's death. Being his childhood friend and lover was her only real protection.
Leo nunca fue su gran amor, sólo la ayudó cuando ella se sentía sola y decepcionada. En el fondo, Catherine siempre amó a Peter, ya que este ultimo era un personaje bastante mas complejo e interesante que el pobre Leo.
I'm sure if it was a play mocking her husband, she wouldn't have cared and would have been laughing hysterically and encouraging others to do so. That's really all the series was about.
She definitely would have especially in season 3. After his death Cathrine was worried about how Peter would be received especially with pugachev pretending to be Peter.
This amber island players thing really never disappoints, what better way to throw their own deeds back at a character
Love him or Hate him. This play wouldn't never dare to been on stage if Peter was alive

The show got cancelled smh
read her biography and ignore this stupid foul mouthes show.
One of the best scenes of this show

The most “what the hell did I just watch” moment award goes to:
2:00 buen detalle de catherine levantandose queriendo que paren de humillar a peter
If that were real and say I had been Catherine and I had the power that she had and they put a play on like that in front of me , well let's just say they would never be in another play .
Elle you meilleur actor de Hollywood very nice 🌹
Georgina is hateful but fascinating. Set her up as the next villain!
They canceled it

I thought “the best” was a unitary concept…
Paard riding
No share.
The nerve
interesting, the play I a regurgitation of the show which is just as disrespectful to Catherine. Shame on the producers and the writers.
