Good morning from Khoburtse Camp! After an early breakfast, we're ready to set off on the next leg of our trek towards Urdukas Camp. It’s almost 7 AM, and after waking up at 5 AM, the cool, refreshing morning air is a welcome change from yesterday’s heat.
Today’s trek will be shorter but no less stunning, covering 6 kilometers compared to the 15+ kilometers we tackled yesterday. Our route takes us further into the rugged landscape of the Baltoro Glacier, where jagged peaks and icy terrains merge into a breathtaking wilderness. We'll be walking on both rocky and icy terrain as we ascend, catching glimpses of the majestic Trango Towers.
As we hike, you’ll see our drone capture incredible footage of the surrounding glaciers and the unique beauty of the Karakoram Range. Despite the chilly morning, we're all set for a steady hike, up and down, through some of the most dramatic landscapes on Earth.
After several hours, we reach Urdukas Camp, standing at an elevation of 4,057 meters. It’s been a rewarding journey so far-over 6,500 steps and around 2,000 calories burned! Now, we settle in to rest and prepare for the next day of adventure.
