I'm only 20 minutes in so far, but this is a great video. Needs audio normalisation, especially in the sections where the background music drowns out the other audio, but the content is good. Impressed with how far back you started. My personal history started with the idea of VR in scifi like Neuromancer in the '80s, which became the somewhat underwhelming reality of bad and expensive Dactly Nightmare games at Timezone in the '90s (and the Lawnmower man), and now of course the Oculus revival which has me hooked.
It's amazing how high tech their hardware was so so so long ago!! And it's so cool to see all of the old age stuff... the neon bright line displays, the epic "data glove", the neat vcr video with animated powerpoint slides - it all seems amazing at how advanced they were, yet didn't really have much to show for
This is a great video, thanks for making it. Have you thought of creating on the history of AR and AR glasses? There is some overlap with VR's history, for instance in the cockpit headsets, but then there are many different companies, tech, and headsets which appear. This also has an interesting context with the direction things are going today, as AR glasses are more for industrial uses (i.e. Vuzix, Magic Leap, HoloLens) and VR glasses. which display the real world with objects augmented on it, are becoming more common for consumer uses (i.e. Quest 3 and Apple Vision Pro).
Wow!! What an amazing video. Thank you so much for making it. I literally only knew one of these headset in there. I would love to see more videos like this!
Ive been watching a lotta your videos for a while, but this vid is a very well- made video that certainly stands out, and even if its only once in a few months (intermissioned by other bonework vids or whatev you wanna do) its still great nonetheless. I hope your stuff gets more attention soon, dude :)
58:36 LOL he is just grabbing that dude's head Great video. I knew about some of that stuff, but never connected all the dots. It was like Oculus and HTC just came out of nowhere, but, no, not really 😝
Hey my friend, your video about the history of VR is actually amazing! Im planning on making a project about the history of VR as my design project rn and (oviously) because its a design university in germany the text itself doesnt matter. (I mean yes it matters but only that it should be correct text and about the topic but they dont care if its from chatgpt or whatever they dont even read it, kinda sad) So i wanted to ask u if i could use your video and what u say as the text base for the book? Still thinking if i should do it or not but i love the topic and what u could do with it in the process of creating, so yeah. Have a nice day.
this is a great video however i have two issues, one, early on when you are talking about psychedelics you have this transition that maybe trigger photosensitive people, and during your talking segments displaying images you have it mixed so you are very quiet in comparison to when you are one on one talking to the camera.
Ok im working on a short fir this video that will be on both UA-cam and Twitter as well as tiktok as there is a mich bigger audience for myself specifically that will see it id like to obviously link this video with your blessing not the prayer type more the go ahead from you. sincerely, a big fan of your work, Mr Reviewie.
the music is bringing this down because its too loud and its in a downwards depressing mood and the only other music is more of a confusing not moving up or down in tune for me
Wanna love this video, and while I almost do, the audio is atrociously bad my guy. Inaudible in some parts. Focus more on the audio going forward. Still, well researched and very interesting. Edit: honestly views are low enough it’s worth just re-uploading.
What's with the creepy green face gurning at the camera in various segments. Also the music is too loud and often unnecessary. Both really distracting, otherwise it could be a good documentary.

Haha exactly!
People who made vr headsets: "this was so damn hard"

hot take : 42:10 better than most modern VR games 🗣
Brother, don’t get discouraged cause of your low views! Keep going!
Why did you not upload a video in 8 or 7 months
Bonelab wasn’t what he thought it would be
Why can't people afford a mount for their mics
Excellent!

Great vid, but the audio levels are all over the place. Pity, as it takes away from what's otherwise an excellent presentation.
This video is edited very weirdly
