Really looking forward to hearing your perspective on the value of the dac in the streamer, versus separates. I totally agree about the touchscreen -audiophile catnip only.

Tested with Rotel 1592 MKII and Audio Research Ref CD9. In both cases the outboard DAC’s are better. No surprise. It’s a perfect streamer. And gets out of the way of the music. It’s perfect when using an outboard DAC. It’s a reliable easy to use streaming unit. Once I got over the network issues.
I agree with you. I do however think that as a stand alone unit it sounds better that other comparable products from Blue Sound, Eversolo, etc. Yes adding an outboard DAC improves the sound but, in my estimation you would need to spend the equivalent amount on the DAC, say $500+. I am so glad you shared your conclusions. Thank you for your view.
Great stuff! A nice and elegant solution for adding streaming to any desktop or existing Hi-Fi system at a very competitive and reasonable price. What more can one ask for? You may need to add a headamp if it was a desktop/headphone. What do you think?

Simon, It is great to see you back. Thank you so much. I agree with you. The most important thing for me is audio quality. Fancy stuff doesn't usually move the needle much. You are right, unless you have an amp with a built in headphone amp you will need an outboard one. I will be testing it on my desktop using a Schiit/Nitsch Magni Piety headphone amp and my Drop 6XX phones. I should have the review out shortly. Thanks again for you view.
Ed, looking forward to your review. I really like my Eversolo DMP-A6. I know, with phone apps, a display is not essential, oh, but it looks so pretty!
Did you say in one of your videos that you use a Fluance turntable? Have you made a video about it? Whats the model number?
I have a RT84 but have upgraded the cartridge from the Ortofon 2M Blue, which I really didn't like, to an Audio Technica ATVM540ML. The AT cart is so much better, granted it is more expensive. I also have a vintage AT125LC cart and an AT-OC9XML moving coil cart. I use a Schiit Mani phono pre-amp. So many people have done reviews on Fluance I am not sure I could add much to the knowledge pool.
