This was extremely fun to film and even more fun to take part in. The group was not short of funny jokes and remarks, truly blessed to have friends like these. Adam and Heidi, you guys are killing it with these videos and the camerawork/editing that takes place behind the scenes. The videos are truly of the utmost quality. Without a doubt y'all are truly the best exhibitors of kindness and care within the RC hobby! I cannot wait to take part in more challenges soon to come; also, congrats on 2000 subs!!!!!
Just started flying, have an aeroscout . Crashed it a few times . Seriously thinking of getting a stimulator, but I feel that it would be a draw back, as I already started flying without safe . What a good simulator? Thanks I am in the Caribbean by the way no allot of hobby shops and field here
@@kevinmaxwellwilkin4915 Welcome to the hobby Kevin! It's good that you've started flying without safe as a lot of people that start using that don't ever come off of it. Simulators are great for helping you with muscle memory and orientation. Real flight from horizon hobby is probably the best one out there. Best of luck in your RC journey and if there's ever anything that we can help you with don't hesitate to ask.
Fun contest with an important lesson: practice for emergencies! One more lesson, perhaps not as obvious: a plane in trim for normal flight is not in trim for landing. Having a separate trim setting for landing really helps.
I enjoyed this a lot more than the last one (UMX Timber) - it seemed to me much more a game of skill and much less a game of wanton destruction. Gratz to Ryan!
I glad you enjoyed man, awesome. I agree, this one was planned a bit better. We kind of winged the first one. They should keep getting better as we figure it out.
Rename the Episode - Maiden Flights Challenge! This really like having 16 maiden flights from one aircraft. Well, most of my maiden are just like these here! A novel RC fun challenge for sure Adam
Great Fun - she sure took a bit of a pounding !!! - but stood up to all of your abuse - Steve should have said "Talk to me Goose" LOL - somethings go wrong 🤣🤣🤣- you mean like the pilot forgetting to strap in the battery LOL.... Nice one Adam - well done chaps - Loved the video , Good advice Adam - "Just keep flying the plane"
What a fun challenge... This is the kinda stuff that we should all play around with to increase our experience and skills (and have fun)... Congrats Ryan, you are a solid young man...
Oh my gosh, that was AWESOME! First, I actually LOL'd on multiple occasions during the video once the plane broke ground and I could tell the pilots were just hanging on for dear life! Very good job done by all; I honestly can't believe the beating that plane took! Very sturdy for sure! Also, really really enjoyed your teaching moment at the end as many of us have in fact had IFE's (In Flight Emergency) at one point or another, and you offered very wise words for those to perhaps practice with a beater plane on various out of trim situations, etc. Great video, VERY enjoyable my friends!
Hi Adam First thing.... THAT'S ONE TOUGH KITE...... if it gets you out your comfort zone then that's not a bad thing. As Ive said to martyn I judge a pilots skill by how well he or she can get themselves out the poo... Good vid Brian
What a cool challenge and everyone did a awesome job. That Airplane has some stout landing gear 🤣 Thanks so much for putting out content like you do, it's informative, fun, technical, and it demonstrates how awesome RC Airplanes are! 🤙🏼 Also what you said at the end is so true, never quit or give up, or as I do, I fly it all the way to the seen of the crash. 🤣
That plane is not for me personally. But I gotta say you guys did a hell of a job promoting the toughness of it. Ya gotta be impressed that it took that beating and was still air worthy. Cool vid and fun to watch 👍
What a hoot, some great slow-mo action, very entertaining, cheers Adam, good filming from Heidi as well 🙂 I challenge myself on the flight sim occasionally, crashes don't matter so much but you still learn 👍 Great sum up as well.
Thanks very much Cliff. It was fun for sure, and great practice. Sim work is valuable as well. Ryan, the winner of this challenge started flying 3D less than a year ago. He flies the sim for 2 hours a night, and is now well beyond me at 3D.
1 point to hit the runway with all three wheels, but then run off. 2 points to hit it and stay on it till the plane stops You get one go around, if you can't land by the second pass...no points. If you miss the runway...no points.
I enjoyed this one a lot, question for you, are all 4 fliers flying mode 1 or 2? I was thinking about the challenge while watching it and to me as a mode 1 flier predominately I feel having two main axis on the same stick out of trim might be harder to deal with than independant, I'm not mode bashing here, I just tried to picture in my head how I would have gone under same set of parameters and could see a I difference for me, keen to hear peoples thoughts, before anyone wants to attack, I have flown mode 1 for over 40 years, and that is why I prefer it not because I have some other bias too it, I've taught mode 2 pilots successfully and have always allowed people I teach to fly to make up their own mind as to which mode makes the most sense to them.
Alexis we all fly mode 2. I can only speak for me, but as a guy with some full scale experience mode 2 makes sense to me. In a full scale aileron and elevator are on the same yolk/stick, and the rudders independent on the pedals. It just translates better to me. I know several pattern flyers that use mode 1 as they say it makes that easier for them. My buddy John can fly BOTH modes and switch from one to the other back to back and fly one as good as the other. Amazing. I'm not sure why there is ever an "argument" over modes or what is better or worse. Silly. To me, if you're having fun, success to a point that satisfies you, and you're safe...I'm all for it. I don't think there is a "better" mode. Just differences in preference. Happy flying my friend!
@@ModelAV8RChannel we are on the same page, my only food for though on the full-size v model and mode comparison is the sensory feed back in full-size is not limited to your eyesight, eg your butt directly responds to what the stick does, but I totally agree that it's a personal choice and whatever works best for the the person is the best option for them
Great video Adam, brilliant challenge to show us. You are indeed blessed my friend, having so much fun with RC. I guess once you are as professional as you, you are great at landing when stuff goes wrong. 🫡
Thanks Chris. I dunno how professional we are, LOL. Calling some of what we did "landings" is a bit of a stretch! It was big fun and the experience makes you better. I suppose a reusable plane is good enough if the stuff hits the fan.

Thanks so much Ryan! It was a pleasure to have you there and competing. Congrats ace! I'm so proud of the pilot you've become!

LOL!! Thanks Pappy!
that was interesting...surprised it survived 🤣 great flying ! ...
Thanks man! And so are we...lol
LOL! That whole thing made me smile and laugh!
Awesome Robert. Glad you enjoyed it.

Finally people that fly like me 🤣😂 Great fun video Adam, and nice to see Heidi in front of the camera 😀👍

I agree Will. It is fun and it improves our skill set and confidence. Ryan is a good young man. Eagle Scout. Great young ace!
That looked like fun, too bad I have no experienced buddies to fly with I could do stuff like this with.
Keep em coming
We'll keep at it, thanks man. If you're ever in our area...we can set up you being in a challenge. You are welcome to fly with us.

So the young man takes the trophy! How were you figuring the points, 1 or two? If you have to go 2 times for a landing you lose a point.
1 point to hit the runway with all three wheels, but then run off.
2 points to hit it and stay on it till the plane stops
You get one go around, if you can't land by the second pass...no points.
If you miss the runway...no points.
Double bonus round...reverse a channel. After all, how many of us have accidently done this! 🤣
LOL! Actually...there is a plan for a reversed channel...or channels challenge. We may nuke something on that one.
@@ModelAV8RChannel My thoughts exactly. But seeing as so many RC pilot's don't use rudder, that channel might be easily doable.😉
