they're not vortex generators, they are boundary layer fences...they are flat plates fixed to the upper surfaces parallel to the wing chord and in line with the free stream airflow, typically wrapping around the leading edge. By obstructing span-wise airflow along the wing, they prevent the entire wing from stalling at once, as opposed to wingtip devices, which increase aerodynamic efficiency by seeking to recover wing vortex energy.
@@RCINFORMER they recover wing vortex energy..ie the wings generate vortex and the fences stop them sliding down the wing increasing the efficiency of air flow over the wing

Rich, I bought one of these, largely inspired by your excellent review. Very impressed at unboxing. However, what is going on with the C of G. Instructions said 95mm, tried this with a 199g 3S 2200 and LOTS of nose-weight, safe, I suppose, but atrocious. MANY people seem confused. WHERE WAS IT FOR YOUR FLIGHTS? Also, when you quote ideal batteries it would save research time if you could also quote the weight of the lipo. LOVE ALL YOUR REVIEWS, AMONG THE BEST.
This plane is begging for a bigger esc and 4s power for a real speed demon! I have the 1230kv predator motor from the mxs same size as stock... that I'm going to put in this baby on 4s with a 9x9 prop she will be a screamer!!
It is available around $200. I got one earlier this year but getting the wing bolt holes to line up was a B****. When I built it with the recommended 3S 2200 the plane was way tail heavy if you believe the specified CG.
