In June 2024 I found a great deal on a repositioning cruise from Seattle to Tokyo on Quantum of the Seas from Sept 30 - Oct 15. We booked a guaranteed cabin, virtual balcony, all fees and gratuities. It came to $88 a night per person. We never get any packages or any extras so that helps with keeping our costs down. My husband and I got lucky with a good cabin. We had 4 stops in Japan before our final stop in Yokohama (Tokyo). We were going to Japan anyway so this was a fun way to get there. We kept busy with the different entertainment and shows the ship offered so the time flew for us. As for now, this will be our new way to cruise.

Nice video! We love small, luxury ship repos (less than 1,250 passengers). We can sail all-inclusive luxury cruise lines for less than $300/day, per person, for a veranda stateroom instead of $600 pp, and sometimes with a butler! Some cruise lines (like Viking) will even offer Free international economy air with some sailings.

I guess you have to be on the balcony more to see the dolphins, whales, etc. I saw dolphins and flying fish while on our stateroom balcony on Independence of the Seas in Oct, 2024. (Google flying fish if you don't know what they are).

If you are Canadian then the declining exchange rate of the Canadian dollar makes cruising much more expensive now (2025).
Dollar did take off recently - hopefully that settles back down for everyone.
If someone takes a repositioning cruise then, paying for the trip back could destroy any savings. But, maybe there’s a way.
New ships are best as a reposition cruise since you won’t have 6000 guest on it. Out of dry dock pack your patience new crew training.
