Love the video I currently have 2 uromastyxs red and yellow geryi. I used play sand and organic top soil mix for the substrate because they do love to dig. I used paving bricks to support the stones in there cage . And the bricks allowed me to build tunnels for them
I have that thermostat (if it is the one with the two plugs). I worked great for regulating my two mini heat pads. But when I upgraded the animals to larger caging with larger heat pads, it would only regulate the pad that the probe was attached to (there is only one probe). It still works, but not for two heating elements.

Fantastic job on this video, Mike. This scape looks pretty cool too. I'm sure that the lizards will like it just as much as I do. You mentioned plants, and I have a friend with a uromastyx, he has had luck with spineless prickly pear cactus. Personally, not quite sure about any other plants, as I have no first hand experience. Want to get one for my son. I keep hearing about reptiles getting impaction from the substrates? Would it be ok to use all rocks and larger stones as substrates and hides or will this not be good for the uromastyx?
Hi Mike, Uro enclosures are so dry most critters used for bioactive enclosures wither and die due to the high heat and low humidity. Have you thought about using Asbolus verrucosus (also known as the desert ironclad beetle or blue death feigning beetle) as the janitor? I saw somebody talking about using them in a desert scorpion enclosure as the clean up crew. As a scavenger, Asbolus verrucosus eats pretty much anything. Thoughts?

what is the wattage of your arcadia deep heat projector? What kind of 50w basking bulb are you using? Going to switch from CHEs. I'm only just learning they aren't ideal.
