Next 3 weeks will be a bit hectic in terms of videos. Camera perspective will be fixed. I do have a smaller video coming with a different camera and sound perspective

That’s true! I’ve been into cars ever since I can remember 😅 finally got the opportunity to dive deeper into them 😄

I think you can see how much fuel the car is consuming at any given moment, you select the option on the onboard computer to check the consumption. Hold down the BC button for about five to 10 seconds; this button is located near the turn signal lever. I'm mentioning this because my family owns a BMW X3 2006, and it has this feature. It allows you to monitor fuel consumption in real-time; when you accelerate, fuel consumption increases, and so on.

I have an e92 335xi and it works similar as you’re saying except you click on BC to cycle through options and it should be there. I might have to unlock the special options screen by holding the trip reset button, go to some other screen, add up the values and enter them in another screen. There is some weird procedure for it

@@marcelk_98 This is how it works in my family car: I cycle through the options with clicking on BC BUTTON until I find the fuel consumption display, then I hold down the BC button for about 10 seconds, and it starts showing nothing until I start driving.

@@stefanbs17 interesting, will give it a try. I was able to just code it in with bimmercode on the 335

great video! i just bought myself an 07 e90 335i manual, and its my first manual so this video was great for me lol. I didn't know the m3 wouldn't let you scroll though to the live fuel consumption. If you want to get that option ive seen lots of digital clusters/dashs that have those and many more options, idk of any names but i'd assume there is some if the 335i has some, maybe they are compatible who knows. plus it'd be a great content opportunity.

Thank you! I’ve tried to code it in with bimmercode and saw no option for it. I’ve got autel diagnostics device which also allows for coding so I might try that. I also got alpine MSS so I might try look into that as well. I might be getting apple car play so the option might also appear there. I got a lot of things I want to do to this car, just got other expenses atm which will also make for better content

Be careful downshifting in these cars. Idk if you’ve experienced it yet or not but for whatever reason these cars like to backfire when downshifting. Sounds like an explosion coming from the front. It’s super common. But it makes the o ring inside the plenum come out and you’ll get the annoying intake whistle. The most annoying goddamn thing ever. You’ll have to pull the plenum and put some rtv on it to get it to stop or replace it

That is actually very good to know. I have never come across this info anywhere. I don’t think it has happened to me yet. I do hear some burbles sometimes, but that’s from the exhaust and is to be expected. I know that there is some valve under the plenum towards the back of the engine that can also cause the whistling noise. Only thing which I might be fighting now is the clunking noise whenever I let go off the throttle or press the clutch in. The car also jerks forward. I suspect it’s the transmission mounts as whenever I have EDC set to the most stiffest setting I sometimes hear a squeak coming from the gear lever. I’ve read so much on it in the past day and it can be so many things at play here. I’ll start by checking the diff bolts and the driveshaft before I start removing the heat shield and all other things in the way

@@marcelk_98 yeah the thing at thr back of the plenum is what I’m talking about. If you downshift around 3k-3500k it will backfire and sound like a loud explosion coming from the front. Mine started getting the whistle about 3 months ago. It’s worse with the ac running for some reason. It’s just annoying but doesn’t affect the car at all. So until I have a reason to take plenum off I’ll wait til then to fix it.

@@matthewwaldrup149 I do shift in that range. Hopefully it won’t start happening. Depends how much you drive the car. I don’t drive it as much, but I’m the type of person that wants everything to work 100%. If everything isn’t 100% then it bothers the crap out of me
