Yeah I'm happy for Jamaica, my cousin and uncle arre Jamaican (By marriage) and while we were watching the Olympics they were cheering for Jamaica and i was cheering for USA, we all enjoyed the races, no matter the outcome. I wasn't upset until people started saying Americans have to be drugged up to beat Jamaica. It just isn't true.

RIGHT! Also, the 4x100 is simply the 4x100. The lanes are staggered to even out the distance, so, inside lanes only benefit folks for seeing the competition and trying harder...it's not like the inside lanes are shorter, or anything. USA won these fair & square for sure.

VCB would have been a great match-up for Evelyn Ashford, although, Evelyn was much more dominant than VCB. Remember, VCB was an amazing runner, but, fell off a bit, then, came back better than EVER this year, so, don't let her times this year confuse us with consistency. Evelyn had a bit more of a successful career, and more consistently won. She was such a beautiful and humble runner...miss her.

You got the US womens squad 100 percent correct, and that was one of the greatest relays ever because it was out of lane one. One of two things kept them from breaking the record: either the fact that the US was in lane one, or the fact that English Gardner was running in shoes borrowed from Allyson Felix, shoes that were custom made for Felix and a half size too big, hahaha.
Noel Bartley lane one is universally accepted as THEE worst lane in races where you have to stay in lanes because the turn is tighter. Lane 8/9 next worse because you can't see what is going on behind you until the final curve.

I disagree. I don't think Shelly-Ann can beat Felix on second. Felix is an AMAZING 100M runner, but, doesn't start well. With a running start, Felix will smoke the field, because she's got tremendous top end speed. Shelly Ann, on the other hand, has an explosive start, but, everyone passes her. Shelly Ann reminds me of Gail Devers...she explodes and gets a lead, and either wins by a thread, or, everyone will catch and pass her.

That would be a mistake. If anybody, it should be VCB. The second leg is the longest and normally it's a 200m specialist who runs that leg. Wallace Spearmon and Usain Bolt (when Powell is anchor) run that leg for their teams also.

@leonard bolton Americans winning doesn't bother me in the slightest. I love watching Gatlin run, for example, loved watching Mo Greene. I'm just impressed by athleticism in general, no matter who it is.

Are you kidding me? We don't compare? The thing with Jamaica is they have Usain, Asafa, Veronica, Kerron, and Fraser, other than those people I just named no one on Jamaica can handle the US. Allyson Felix has defeated Campbell 3 times at worlds, Tyson Gay has defeated Bolt at worlds, Sanya has defeated Kerron, but so has Allyson. I can go on and on our team has the best people, we have Felix, Richards, Muna, Gay, Clement, Merritt, etc,etc. WE ARE THE BEST.

@chichibud31,the US would have simply beat Ja in beijing .Jamaica only has 100m runners and US has the best team.they were in a clear lead until torri messed up the baton,and i bet you their semi final time would have even been fastest than that of the winning time by the russian.let us just wait for 2011.

Asafa, Sherone, Blake, Nester, Shelly, Bridget, Melanie, Sherifa, Sherica, Elaine, Morrison and Frater they all train in Jamaica this is why we started winning so many medals and creating history.
