Totally agree - it reflects the rawness of the albums writing. Feels like you're there, in a sleepy American town listening to a local band. Love CHAPTERS x
As an oldie, this reminds me of the best of Billie Joel. Like Allentown, Downeaster Alexa. America, sadly or not, is great at capturing the feeling of imprisonment in modern life. Particularly in towns and cities that history has passed over. Another example is Swing Life Away by Rise Against. Another classic melancholy, small town ballad, that speaks equally to the isolation and loneliness we all feel in the modern world.
Every time I listen to this album, after having taken some time off from it, I come back with a new favourite song. The album is so good that every song can easily be a stand alone single. Their best album, by far, and one of the best albums I’ve ever heard, period.
This band has really matured since my kids turned me onto their debut album, all those years ago. Pressure Machine is an amazing concept album; worthy of standing alongside the classic albums of all the musicians that influenced them.
Is this the life you chose yourself Or just how it ended up? Is that the yard you pictured when You closed your eyes and dreamed Of children in the grass running through the sprinklers? Being somebody's wife Or were you living in another life? When will I make it home? When I damn well feel like driving Down these empty streets That burn though our birthright I passed a couple of kids holding hands in the street tonight They reminded me of us in another life Am I the man of your desire? Or just a guy from your hometown? Are these the arms that you saw when you Pictured yourself wrapped around? Baby, I can vouch for the hopeless dreamer When you look at me, am I the man you hoped I'd be? When will I make it home? When that jukebox in the corner Stops playing country songs of stories that sound like mine I spent my best years laying rubber on a factory line I wonder what I would've been in another life In another life In another life In another life
Their last two albums are a massive return to form, it’s nice to hear them make music that sounds like a band playing in a room together, on this occasion quite literally. That’s what made Hot Fuss and Sam’s Town so great.
this album shows how they matured and grown not only as a band, but also as human beings. Tracks are more down to earth, about something that each of us experience: everyday life routine, struggles, duties. We all starts with high hopes, big dreams to be, to do something important, but after time passes all of a sudden we finds ourself killing precious time by doing something our past self would call unimportant, trivial, boring, meaningless. How many of our friends is still with us? How many of those who remained are doing what they dreamed about doing? This albums just sums up all of this adult life crisis when we realise we lost something important chasing useless things. Just as the lyrics says: "I spent my best years laying rubber on a factory line" How many times people are asking themself similar question? Plenty. I just love this album. It might be unpopular opinion but IMHO it's their best work since "Battle Born". "Imploding the Mirage" and "Wonderful Wonderful" were fine, but "Pressure Machine" is beautiful. It's not only music, it's art.
Can't wait to hear them live again, I went about 6 months before they started touring for Pressure Machine. We had an opportunity to see them at a casino mere minutes from my house but my 6 year old likes them too so we didn't go because we couldn't bring him along. Hopefully they play in South Cali sometime soon again.
Me pasa que esta cancion me angustia por la ansiedad de no poder predecir mi futuro pero se q va a ser una porqueria y es como que puedo sentir esa nostalgia y arrepentimiento de ante mano con este tema aaaa devastada estoy.
The somber theme of the album makes it my least favorite compared to the others. I just think the Killers are at their best when they're up-beat. Half of the songs on PM are fantastic though. This one, West Hills, Quiet Town, Cody, Sleepwalker, and In the Car Outside I all enjoy.
GREAT song. I wish Brandon Flowers didn't give up on Las Vegas and move to Park City, Utah, with Tony Hsieh. He's just not the same anymore, even though he didn't get into the crap that Tony did before he died. They HATED performing these recent Vegas shows and couldn't wait to be out of the city that made them. Sad.
PM is such an underrated album, filled with absolute gems.
Is the best album of them

It's NOT underrated, it got very positive reviews
Pressure machine is a masterpiece. They really nailed the cultural quagmire of rural america towns.
Giggety
Crabbity
Over a year later and I still cannot get enough of this whole album. It is perfection.
This live version is probably better than the studio version... you can hear the instrumentals more! Love it.

Brandon’s fury is matched in energy of the band

Favourite song from the album this makes my heart pick up on its own echo
Absolutely love this comment. Inspiration for our lyrics. Love CHAPTERS x
This is exactly it, perfectly put into words how it makes me feel too
Best Killers album for me. Gems all over.
One of the best songs ever written. Killers, you amaze me.

Best band ever...
Much respect to them resurrecting Gerry Rafferty to play pedal steel guitar, The Killers are always putting in that extra effort for excellence. 10/10

Pressure Machine is one of the greatest albums ever made. Don't believe me? Listen to it! None better.
first time watching this music video, I can´t stopo crying and is 3 am
This song breaks my heart. I wonder what my life would've been if things went differently for me.
What a beautiful song, absolutely soulful
Amazing performance. Probably best on the album after West Hills.
Couldn’t agree more. West Hills is a top 10 Killers song for me and this video is making In Another Life another contender from PM.
Prefer live version to studio version. Awesome!
Might be their best song. Insane
This song sounds like a heart breaking over and over

That backup vocal at 2:52 gives me chills every time. As good as Ed O'Brien's yells on Weird Fishes.
It’s the best Killers album that (virtually) no one has heard. Their best in recent times
‘Am I the man of your desire?’ Hell yeah!!!!
The killers still going strong. Such a brilliant band .🥰🥰😊
He sings with so much passion I adore this band. Thank you for uploading the video❤
Brandon always sounds great underrated singer
Simplemente insuperable. La mejor banda de la historia.
I past a couple kids holding hands on the street tonight 🎵
They reminded me of us...🎵
In another life🎵
That gets me. 😢
Thank you for this song Brandon

Que buena canción la letra esta demasiado buena ❤
i like the atmosphere built in this film, intimate yet powerful for the song's theme
There best album since sams Town
Honestly I might actually agree with you. PM is a top 3 album for me now. Astounding work and a game changer in lyrical prowess

excellent band, always good, Never Disappoint !
❤️❤️🇧🇷
fav off of PM Hope this is played on the tour
It made me sick to my stomach when no one at their concert here in Toronto knew the lyrics to anything off of Pressure and Imploding.
I am sorry if you are canadian! But I went to Toronto for two concerts and it was the worst experience of my life! Worst audience ever!
fresh
This should have been a single.
3:14 of my best life
🔥🖤
I’m not much of a fan with the new album..but this the best song for me out of the others. Add runaway horses too.
in the car outside is the best for me, such a great album

Pinche canción espectaculaaaaar✨ Los amo (灬º‿º灬)♡
Just a boy from my home town.
His voice courted me, proposed married me, got a mortgage, got me pregnant, filmed The birth and raised Our child 😂
👏 👏 🥰 🇨🇵 🥂🍾 bonjour France !!!
Who is playing pedal steel in this video?
👏👏💞👏👏👏

Ive stopped many times in the small town in utah to which this song refers. It makes this song much more poignant for sure.
We are not friends any more, and after all we have been through too.... CLT

I have followed 5 blocked videos of this song. This is the worst. But willing to follow.
There was me thinking I couldn't love this song (and album) any more. Absolute filth

Why did the hate performing there?
Brandon grew up in Utah. Not like Post Malone who had zero history before he moved here.
Almost 3 years late :(
This has a touch a very small touch of "sad eyes" by bruce Springsteen. And btw i just farted
Brandon :)
Zack Bagans looks like him
Guitar rift sounds a bit like losing my religion, REM
Live version is much better
🥲
Brandon looks diferent like botox or something like that :(
