Another possibility, just to consider, is that the aliens in the movie trilogy aren't the primary species, but a slave race created to remove obstacles and prepare for the host species arrival. That could be why it also came with designs for basically unlimited energy. Get the terrestrial species to start the frame work, while they're slowly corrupted and replaced from within. Then, when the host species does arrive (as it takes time to travel space, one would presume), it has a planet already filled with slaves and unlimited energy. Just a thought.
My theory is that on the planet Gigeria within Magellanic Galaxy, The Scorn people from the game created that alien species until they turned evil and there was a war between the scorn and their creations. The Scorn lost the war and they were exiled from their own planet leaving their creations as in The Matians took over the planet with Queen L'thiah as their Queen. Then one of the Queen's elite guard was searching for new planets to conquer so he went to the milky way galaxy and he discovered the scorn were colonizing on mars. He was killed by the scorn and The Queen sensed his death and discovered The Scorn's location and she and the rest of her army went to mars to fight The Scorn on Mars until The Scorn Leader The Scorn Mage unleashed a blue aura like shockwave that sent every Matian into a coma like state rendering them unconscious and The Scorn Mage buried them all underneath the surface Mars so there would be no trace of their existence and The Scorn left Mars and went to prehistoric earth and then The Mage used the last of his powers to create the first group of homo sapiens as in the first humans from different parts of the planet and all the scorn had bury themselves underneath earth so no one will ever know of their existence. Oh fun fact, that member of the queen's elite guard that I mentioned? He was killed by The Scorn and The Scorn Mage sent his dead corpse underneath mars for billions of years until Patrick Ross visited mars and took some sample of Mars crust not knowing that the guard's slimy self was hiding inside and with the queen's help via spirit and not her physical form, she melted one the samples and led him into infecting Patrick turning into him hours later and took over his body and corrupted his mind by causing Patrick to mate and kill the women when they gave birth to his children and fought Eve, Lennox, Luara and Gable later on at the ending of Species 2 until he died due to Gable's blood.

Having the Halo soundtrack playing in the background just makes this comedic dissertation on alien/human physiology all the more entertaining. I was honestly waiting on a sound bite of MC getting nuked by a flood when one of the characters got domed.
my headcanon is that empath guy is really good at feigning insightfulness while everyone else was just an out of touch executive or a genius scientist who lacks even an ounce of common sense, meaning he got a job he wasn't qualified for because he just so happens to understand how normal people think.
I always kinda saw the male in Species 2 being quadrupedal as just a sort of symbolic thing. Like "Oh this human is just completely gone now and there's just alien instinct"
I mean, they make a very emphasized point of showing that after he "clears his head," he is basically just a human shell that the alien pilots from then on.
I could never understand whenever someone in a movie finds blood or a puddle of something gross, nine times out of ten they dip their fingers in it to look at it closely and or smell it. They then usually exclaim their revulsion, state what it looks like and wipe it on their own clothes or just continue on with nasty fingers.
Lol I remember seeing this movie available for rent in Blockbuster video. I was like six years old and really into Alien 1, Aliens, Predator, stuff like that at the time and for some reason got it into my head this was that sort of movie. Sometimes on Friday evenings after school, my mom would take me to Blockbuster and let pick out a video game or a movie to rent for the weekend. I kept asking for this, she never let me rent it and I didn't understand why lol. Thank God for that - I would have been forever traumatized. Hell - just watching this trilogy summarized here as an adult I'm even half-traumatized!
Great job again on the trilogy analysis Roanake! Truly your brain is much more covered in mighty wrinkles than mine. Also, I've always found it funny no one ever made a headcanon connection between the Species alien "Recipe" and the "Black Goo" accelerant from Prometheus. Nice try Ridley Scott, no one thought we would notice, but we did!

I'm not ashamed to admit that Species, or rather Natasha Henstridge to be more specific, was my "sexual awakening." When you're a 12 to 13 year old boy on the cusp of puberty, seeing the pair of yabbos & the cake Natasha had back in 1996 (which, btw, she was 21 when the film came out) was the catalyst for my neurons firing.
With how brick stupid the writing these movies tends to be? Yeah I can see that. This is definately one of those movie series you just mute, play on 2x speed and listen to nine inch nails the whole runtime.
So i work 12 hr shifts 4 days on 4 days off. Your videos have helped me through that for a while now. So thanks RG, for the content, consistency and crease ups! Never fails to get a chuckle.

I love how true scientists, like Roanoke, can watch films like this and at least bring a sense of reality and possible logic to the story... and I really love that if the original screenwriters for this series watched THIS video, they'd be like, " yeah! Totally meant to do that. That's the plot line I was going for. No loose story telling or plot holes. I was going for the realistic angle, and not the soft-core, "rule-of-cool" angle that every cheesy sci-fi, low-budget filmmaker goes for in the 80s/ 90s/ early 2000s. Thank you Roanoke, I love your logical breakdowns, in-depth scientific approach, and in all reality, I'd watch your channel for your incredibly poignant, and humorous commentary. You're awesome, Buddy!
@@danielpeckham5520 if you use the books, combined with the movies you realise that not only is Sil still alive, but "the species" are SOOOO much worse than Xenomorphs

He could even extend the brackdown to feature some of things you can see in the cartoon series. Would like to see this (the cartoon part is optional of course)
Interesting piece of info, H.R. Giger designed the alien form which is straight out nightmare fuel, the guy is the best at what he does. For those that don't know he designed the iconic xenomorph in the Alien franchise.
I mean the most realistic thing would be as humans the idea of “What if I just get jiggy with it?” Seems to be the common theme. Just good old Ooga booga things.
Damn, for a moment I thought I had psychically seen into the future and watched the video already, then I read the description and reality was affirmed; just re-uploaded.
I still say Species was supposed to be almost a prequel to the Xenomorph alien movies, where the "aliens" were the engineers, why it was a mathematical equation to CREATE a species, but because humans were idiots, it wasn't the bioengineered. Where I still LOVE the contrast with Aliens and predators (yatua) as the conflicted aliens, where they're like Doomsday (adaptation) with xenomorphs (Parademons), where its evolution vs Bioengineering.
Yeah I've been thinking that for awhile, that Sil would fit well as a bio weapon sent by the Engineers, and that had done similar on Mars at some point
Doubt anyone will read this but in a situation like this assuming the alien doesn’t escape and a science team can learn everything about it, just introduce religion to the thing and convince it not to fallow instinct.
2:21 "You see, Freezer, you're not dealing with the average Sayian warrior anymore. He has risen above and become a legend." "I feel like we've been here before. Have we been here before!?"
Any chance you can do an episode on Pandorum? Probably not much there but given the psychosis and the creatures, it's like two different scientific studies in one decent horror movie.
Terrifying note on Asaris: With their reproductive system the Asaris could potentially replace any local species with whom they reproduce given enough time, slowly assimilating them in a way. Of course in ME, with their gov', it wont easily happen but let say you had an authoritarian system, they'd likely conquer worlds to slowly replace local population through reproduction while improving themselves with their beneficial genes. A more diplomatic and insidious, manipulative and gradual approach rather than violent one like in Species would make, well Species' alien species even more successful. Spread your species by gradually replacing others and making yours more successful, powerful, in the process and all that just through reproduction.
I learned about the Greater Omentum when I had surgery to place a drain tube for home PD, peritoneal dialysis. The Omentum did it's job so well that I had to have two more surgeries to free the tubing, and finally, moving it to the opposite side of, and lower, in my abdomen. Three's a charm, and all is going well, now. Thanks to kidney disease, I've learned a lot about our bodies. I really do believe we're wonderfully made, but, it doesn't take much to wreck the works. We really do take what measure of good health we have for granted.
The dumbest part in this trilogy is that the alien weakness was discovered in the first movie but forgot about instantly genetic abnormalities so the ultimate weapon against this SPECIES is a dart gun with the blood of someone with a genetic disorder
My mom once came home from a trade show with a box of vhs tapes. Everyone was a promotional copy of the first species movie. There must of been 20 of them. I was in grade 7 at the time, maybe like 12-14 years old….every guy I was friends with got a copy of that movie for their birthday. Species jokes randomly still pop up in conversations as we now enter our 40’s.
I don't get how Sara's healing factor couldn't heal her reproductive system, also wouldn't her hormones be unstable? I truly forgot about the 3rd n 4th movie
It’s because I think the doctor essentially gave Sara a hysterectomy but for aliens once that part of a woman is gone there is no way to get it back or heal from it reproductive organs are complicated even for hybrids. That’s why she and the others went for her eggs as they were the only part of her that he kept to use.
@Mcherri OK that makes some more sense, and a good argument for plot device. It just seemed like a misstep because their levels of regeneration seemed to vary greatly. Like I think it was Peter who destroyed his own brain and then grew it back and he was a 1st generation hybrid.
@@BLKDEVX yeah that is true however the doctor did take her womb and eggs out when she was still young before she went through the cocoon stage and produce no hormones even then I think she still wouldn’t be able to regenerate what she had taken from her as everything was ripped out of her to begin with you cannot heal what wasn’t there to begin with or understand at the age she was. Their regeneration is definitely complicated but remember Sara is still part human so that allowed her womb to be taken it was a different matter with Patrick all together and he was male.
@Mcherri Very true at the end of the day the regen is just trying to build what it considers damage. Also I had not factored in the cocoon phase, if there body reaches sexual maturity it would also probably then develop the regenerate and combat capabilities it would need to survive.
@@BLKDEVX exactly the moment they emerge from the cocoon their alien side Amps up to making them a full hybrid with both sides establishing themselves though the alien side does tend to take over from time to time with the mating. Again this is different with Patrick due to him not being a lab created hybrid I don’t even think he could’ve been considered a hybrid in the end when his full alien dna takes the controls from Patrick. I cannot remember if they stated he was a hybrid or a full alien in the end as he was infected with alien dna and just waiting to take control. Patrick had 2 forms of aliens he could turn into whereas the hybrids eve and Sara as well as sil only had 1.
@@RoanokeGaming iunno why I was talking about a watch schedule, I've come back to both this and the original upload to listen to several times while doing chores and other housework
The funny thing is; if these creatures didn't kill their human partners they probably would've won. "Listen, you can't have amazing alien sex because these things are trying to reproduce and replace us." "Oh, no! So it'll kill me if I mate with it?" "well...no, but our entire species would---" "Sorry, they won me at amazing alien sex."
37:50 personally i always wondered what if mars had a sapient species (like the blue people from avatar ) what would have been the interaction between us. PS the mars guy kids all are male and have brown hair , that shows some sort of dominant gene to the point of custom tailoring . Personally i don't think the alien genes fail because of to much human DNA but because damage to the alien one from all the harsh conditions on mars.
The fact that this movie is inspired by a concept of a xenomorph in alien 3 that would seduce males and shoot a tounge through the back of there head is wild

I mean, they make a very emphasized point of showing that after he "clears his head," he is basically just a human shell that the alien pilots from then on.
Always down for a Roanoke rewatch!
I appreciate you checking it out bro!
Whats interesting is that the SIL/Human hybridization is REALLY similar to the xenomorph embryo formation process in the Alien franchise.
I swear when I first saw the thumbnail, it looked like an xenomorph😂

Makes sense considering the aliens in the Alien and Species franchises were both designed by the same person - H.R. Giger.

You need to toughen up kid 🤡🤡🤡
I watched it when I was still single digits. I watched the alien films and predator at 6, then I just watched species when it came out.
@@Usual2uspect85 Yeah? Did Species traumatize you? Or are you made of stronger stuff than I was at that age? xD
I had nightmares for decades after watching Jurassic Park back in the 90's... I can see that happening
As expected youtube become a huge dragging tool for our favoured content creator scientist. Like they practically want to turn the site into a kids cartoon channel and thats not even a joke
Dude after what I just witnessed the last few videos, it feels like that. Even after getting this thing CONFIRMED suitable, it still got hit. What is even the point of manually reviewing it in the first place?
@@RoanokeGaming the reviewing system is entirely broken and they are letting it rot deliberately. I am practically confirmed they abandoned the whole site on autopilot with bots and they arent controlling it by themselves hence
Man, I love your channel and the concept behind it. It's so awesome when the filmmakers base things on reality. It's equally awesome when you can make it plausible no matter how ridiculous it may seem.
"I appreciate yall checking it out or just running it in the background", honestly both lmao I hit a video atleast 3 times thru sleep or otherwise. your content is highly appreciated.
I love the immediate drop in quality between Species 2 and Species 3, like that budget is GONE besties

good old copyright crap! glad you could re-upload it though. loved the first movie back when i was in the teens (for obvious reasons lol)
love the work you do for this channel! gotta continue with the Giger creatures though and give us the Xenomorphs!!
Or give us Tiberium and the Tib mutants from the Command and Conquer series!
I watched the first Species Movie when I was 12 years old.

roanoke being a fan of mass effect has made my day
At the end of the day, Species is a franchise of softcover fetish/gore porn for people who saw "Alien" and thought "that would be hotter with bewbs".
so, me, got it.
With how brick stupid the writing these movies tends to be? Yeah I can see that. This is definately one of those movie series you just mute, play on 2x speed and listen to nine inch nails the whole runtime.
dont care if its a reupload i will watch anything you make Roanoke always makes my day.
So i work 12 hr shifts 4 days on 4 days off. Your videos have helped me through that for a while now. So thanks RG, for the content, consistency and crease ups! Never fails to get a chuckle.
Just a side note, the driver who was the soldier in Species III could have been a National Guardsman, being both a soldier and a professor at the same time? just a thought
I always thought he somehow infiltrated the collection crew....
Love the descriptions you use. “Idk about this one, flimsy at best” lol feels like I’m watching the movie and commenting, I would have said the same thing lol
If I made a genetic monstrosity thanks to Alien information, I would be guarding that with Nukes, not cyanide.

The "Species" are goddamn Tyranids
Reminds me more of Xenomorphs or some bio weapon of the Engineers
@@danielpeckham5520 if you use the books, combined with the movies you realise that not only is Sil still alive, but "the species" are SOOOO much worse than Xenomorphs
Didnt realize this got re-uploaded. Time to watch it again!
"Tali, best girl." You're goddamn right, Roanoke.
You should do a breakdown of the Audrey 2 in Little Shop of Horrors, the giant blood consuming plant that could talk and likely had indeterminate growth
The jokes about the empath XD
"The car was out of fuel, so she walked." O.o
I actually had an idea for Alien vs Predator in which during the movies conflict, the big twist is one of the Species show up.
That would be pretty cool, they would fit in well with the Xenomorphs really
Amazing video. Sad you had to reup it, but I'll watch it again. Have you ever considered covering the various mutants from the STALKER games?
Saw this and clicked immediately lol. Amazing work my guy, I can’t wait to see what comes next!
Hope you enjoy it bro!
A reupload huh... goddammit Susan.
Nice to have this back.
hopefully its not too neutered lol
@@RoanokeGaming so what exactly got the original axed?
As someone who falls asleep when my kids not around to you. I deeply find long videos appreciated. Thank you
Doubt anyone will read this but in a situation like this assuming the alien doesn’t escape and a science team can learn everything about it, just introduce religion to the thing and convince it not to fallow instinct.

Terrifying note on Asaris:
With their reproductive system the Asaris could potentially replace any local species with whom they reproduce given enough time, slowly assimilating them in a way.

"well...no, but our entire species would---" "Sorry, they won me at amazing alien sex."

PS the mars guy kids all are male and have brown hair , that shows some sort of dominant gene to the point of custom tailoring . Personally i don't think the alien genes fail because of to much human DNA but because damage to the alien one from all the harsh conditions on mars.
