Thank YOU for your transparency, honesty and integrity out here on YT - waaaaay to many women state they’ve only used skincare , sunscreen and clean makeup! As a medical professional over 45 years it’s clear these women are not truthful. Finally someone who is all about embracing their beauty and aging gracefully with integrity ❤️
I am a huge fan of eyeliner. I noticed several years ago that my eyes seemed to disappear....but a little eyeliner defines them & even makes my lashes look fuller. I never wear mascara. For me, liner is enough. I line my eyes entirely. (I'm 72) I think that looks better on me. I used gray for awhile but black looks best. My eyes are blue-gray. I tried all sorts of eye liner colors....but black really is best on me. I don't go heavy w/it, tho.
Just turned 61 and love makeup, particularly liner and mascara. Also learned to tint those grey eyebrow hairs recently. (Just for Men beard dye is quick and easy.) Next plan is to try tight lining.
Great video, Ladies! I’m going on 75 & “don’t leave home without it”! I do the “tight-lining” (putting eyeliner on the inner rim of your top lashes). It makes your lashes look thicker & is a great way to accent your eyes if you’re in a hurry or wanting a minimalistic look. In the evening (or during the day...I usually do it everyday) tight-lining, in addition to lining above your top lashes, makes for a rich, thick look to the lashes. I am a bit squeamish with my eyes (took me forever to learn to stick contact lenses in my eyes!), but if you try it when you have a calm morning without having to rush, you’ll soon learn it isn’t so hard after all. The trick is to look in the mirror at what you are doing....not at the pencil moving towards your eyes. I enjoy your tutorials & the friendship you obviously feel toward one another. Hope you had a great day! I’m in the States, so just beginning my day...with you & an iced coffee and pecan roll. Perfect combination! Sandy (in Nebraska)
Thanks Sandra for giving that technique a name. What product do you use. I always find i end up with 'panda eyes' :-) The color slips to the bottom of my eye too!
I still wear eyeliner. I love to wear a bronze brown color eyeliner for a more natural look and black for a bit more drama. When I wear black liner I like to wear it thinly applied and close to my eyelashes. I don’t have any wrinkles so that’s not an issue. My skin color is golden, my hair is dark (never dyed) so these colors are flattering to me.
My tip would be I always use an eyelid primer very lightly patting on my eyelids. I rarely use eyeshadow. I do use eye pencils to line my eyes. The primer seems to help open up my eyes.
Just found this channel and am so excited. I am 62 and love the ideas. Will be searching your videos for foundation and powders that don’t leave me with grooves.
Gel pencils are best ! Trish McEvoy has a great one in a few colors, for a an even broader color range Urban Decay 24/7 gel liners are a fave. Some super fun colors if the mood strikes but also basics.
What color eyeliner is good for white hair and fair skin? I use black but been told use dark brown. What products work best? Lips bleed need a name of good lipliner. Enjoyed video, but hair color does make difference in choices of colors in eyeliner, lipsticks, and blushes that look best. I have trouble with choosing right products. Thank you.
Hi Margaret, this was a great video as usual when you interview to Ariane Poole, the only problem was the audio, was terrible, I hope you can solve it soon. Thank you for sharing😊
What a great tutorial because liner is faster and easier than blending shadows. Liner doesn't gunk up eyeglasses. My current liner flakes off so I'll try a new one.
Thank you for your tips. Your great! But this is a request...could you address the how and how notes for long eyebrow hair? Can you trim? Or do you pluck? I hate having wild eyebrows like an old man!
Hello Margie, I have had that experience of a few stray brow hairs growing out wildly. Like you, I don't fancy the demented professor look. One time when I had my brows done professionally the esthetician just trimmed the crazy hairs with little sharp scissors. Now, I do it myself. I am finding as I get older my brows grow really slowly and I don't need to do them as often.
Jacqui Fenn i found the felt tip eye liner bleeds slightly (although to be fair I’ve only used one make). Boots No 7 precision eyeliner in brown is good - stays where you put it.
Thats a good tip to hold the mirror and look down IF you dont need to pull a little on the corner of your eye to smooth out your eyelid. So this would not work for me but it is a good concept. I guess some mirrors are hand free and can tilt down unfortunately mine doesn't. In addition I live in a very hot climate and have to use a waterproof gel liner that I put on with a liner brush. Other wise it melts all over my eyes. Cheers
Thank you Margaret. I love your channel - I’ve only recently found it. You have a lovely voice, so nicely spoken and soothing. Are you English? You sound English but every now and then I detect an accent - maybe Canadian? PS. You also have a lovely smile!
I wear make up to get attention and advice from my daughters, it's fun and trendy, I love compliments from the youths, my working to look good and not tacky gives them confidence that tbey will have fun in their older years. People treat me better when I add foundation and blush and subtle lip color. I tested and more people say hello to when I lightly do my.brows! It's fun, try different styles then check the smiles!
I immediately felt in a good mood from your show, so a late cup of coffee...up at 3 a.m. to drivergrannyz youths to work..must look Sharp ... mysterious, slightly magic
I mostly know what doesn't work. MAC pencil smears, ILIA gel liner doesn't look like much, and Maybelline gives me a rash. I saw somebody mentioned Trish McEvoy, maybe I will try that. Seems pricey, but it can be worth it.
Does anyone wear eye make up after 60? Not for me. A good quality BB cream - Clinique - and sunscreen - some glossy lips and out the door! What about you?
Less is definitely more after 60. I do foundation with sunscreen, blush, cream shadow, mascara and lipstick and gloss. I ditched the eyeliner because I can't do a straight line anymore. Tried all kinds but had to hang it up.
I still have not found the perfect liner. Hi, I'm a new subscriber. Even at 66, my eyelids are oily. I have tried various base products, makeup, powder, but the oil keeps coming thru. Seems I'm always blotting otherwise I end up with shadowed eyelid. My face makeup does stay perfect near all day though. Suggestions? Thx🌼
Jean Ann Make sure you use the right cleanser, toner and moisturizer for your skin type. You should probably use an oil mattifier in your T zone. Eye primer helps also. Use mineral powders if you can. Stay away from cream foundations, I’m 64 and love al things cosmetics. I use MAC products and Mary Kay for skincare.

Just came across this, great video. Don't put eyeliner on your waterline - it blocks your meibomian glands.
I agree
I agree also. My opthomologist said tightlining is a big no no

These were great tips. Thank you!!
You are so welcome!

Welcome - please feel free to check out all our channels at www.sixtyandme.com/start! :-)
I've heard that if you tight line ... you can exacerbate dry eye!! Nice video! Hugs.
Great video ladies! Thank you for the reminder about lighting up on the color of my eyeliner😉 I needed that

Hi do gel eyeliners stay put throughout the day ?
I love Arianne.

I like these suggestions. I literally never do eyeliner like this. Must try it

I agree ,Im a teenager of the 70s

Try butting liner on an eye curler! Heard this but never tried it!
Pencils don’t last on my eye lids, what brands are you using?
I mostly know what doesn't work. MAC pencil smears, ILIA gel liner doesn't look like much, and Maybelline gives me a rash. I saw somebody mentioned Trish McEvoy, maybe I will try that. Seems pricey, but it can be worth it.

Eyeshadows! Matte, satin, or shimmer?
Yes

Jean Ann - that is a great question. By coincidence I am interviewing Ariane Poole tomorrow for Sixty and Me and will ask her! :-)
What color pencil should a dark skin women use ?
Good video! Can you show us an easy way to tight line?
can you explain Carol what you mean by tight line?
Sixty and Me tightlining is lining the inside of your lashes. Line the top and tightline or line underneath
Make sure the liner your choosing is,waterproof. Doesn't have to be But wears longer and no worries of your liner fading.
I’m 64 sitting here wondering if I’m suppose to dress like mrs. Doubt fire now. Help!!😳😘
I also would like to hear more about this!
This was so helpful.TFS.🙄
I don't know if I should use a liner because my eyes will look smaller.
what about make up for
R women over eightie?
Fyi: Eyeliner on the "inside" lids is a good way to get a "stye". Yes, i had one-yuck - not worth it!
Also, bad for contacts.
I’ve never had a stye from using it in over forty years. Some people seem to suffer more from them.
Oh no. My eyes are so hooded that I cannot see the top edge of my eyelashes when I look down into the mirror! NOW what?!
Focus on your smile :-) I know hooded eyes are a nuisance but I would suggest some lovely cream shadow and mascara and not worry about them! X
I wish she'd stop interrupting!
