The centerpiece of SeaWorld Orlando's new Antarctica realm is Empire of the Penguin, a trackless dark ride that takes visitors to the South Pole through the eyes of a penguin named Puck. This video takes you through the entire Empire of the Penguin experience, from the pre-show to the queue to the second pre-show then onto the mild version of the ride and exploring the icy cold penguin habitat post-show.
I've gone to Orlando SeaWorld maybe 5 or 6 times in my lifetime. This attraction, Empire of the Penguin is by far is the best attraction they have ever had. Especially with the Penguin enclosure at the end.

Sad that the pandemic has the ride part closed. It's the best part of this attraction at SeaWorld

Could have been better, but this is a huge breakthrough for SeaWorld. They usually just do exhibitions not ride throughs. And the fact this a ride in which a story is told is even more better. I hope they bring experiences like this to SeaWorld San Diego!

I don't get why people hate this ride so much- it won awards for its theming and for its use of a trackless ride system, just for the record, so I wouldn't call it "cheap" or "boring". Just be glad it wasn't another roller coaster...
It is boring. The queue was NOT worth it. And we'd all rather another coaster.
Because they actually expected it to be an exhibit. Odd that they have to be told...IT'S A RIDE!!!!!!!!!
@@joshuarumsey5639 I wouldn't. SeaWorld and Busch Gardens already have a redundant number of roller coasters. I'd rather have something unique and memorable that immerses me in a themed environment like this.

A tip : watch movies at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching lots of of movies during the lockdown.

I went on it today. It's a lot better if you do it as a surprise and don't watch the video first, but then again...I turned out to be less of a ride then I expected. Though the penguin encounter was pretty cool, now that they don't have glass doors surrounding them and you can just see them up close as they splash water at you XD But OMG it was so cold. You have to watch the penguins while standing in the same temperature they are, I guess it's more of the experience xDD

I had waited 50 minutes to ride this ride the last time I was there just to have it break down. Nevertheless it's an amazing ride, it even holds my favorite song, Home Is Family.

Disappointing that the dark ride part is still closed, I'm at seaworld rn and i was happy to see the penguins but the ride was closed. I remember going on a field trip and riding it. I hope it gets back to working.

i like this ride and all but what seaworld should have done (and i think they might have even considered it) is make a Happy Feet ride instead. i love happy feet and i love mumble. he is my favorite character even more than SpongeBob and Rocko! oh well... we better be thankful for what we have!

Do they make it cold inside the ride...you know...like to feel like you are in Antartica...like one time I went to the saint louis zoo with my family & we went into the penguin & puffin Building & it was like 45 Degrees Inside There
I think they keep it at 32 degrees, which is why they don't let anyone go on if their clothes are wet.

It is pretty beautiful, I can see how some people could be disappointed though, it isn't really what lots expected, but I mean the ride technology is pretty cool, I think it lacks a strong and clear story
We loved it.
Missed potential seems due to size constraints and not being entirely sure how to execute it; the randomness is probably a major factor, they didn't want anyone to miss something so the rooms all end up being a light show that can be viewed from any car. Being heavily story driven doesn't help that either. If it were something along the vein of the Haunted Mansion where you have a setup and then you're basically touring the place it could have been way more fun and make each time more unique.
I never got to experience this ride
well, you look at it as a transfer ride like Expedition Everest at sea world San Diego. The ride was ok but the main point was to see the animals. I think that the part at the beginning is quite confusing, and the story line is pretty vague, but the ride vehicles were interesting. I do hope that they utilize this vehicle for other dark rides.

I would be lying if I said this met my expectations. It is such a short ride and I was expecting SO MUCH MORE...oh well.

@Sean Wilkinson When I hit reply it has your name set as that. You can change what you show up as and interact with people as in settings. That being said, OOOF that really sucks. I hope they don’t do what they did to Atlantis to it! It is in such a sad state right now.

It turned out more of a 'fancy entrance' to see the penguins. But it is really beautiful in person ^^ (It helps if you go on Journey to Atlantis first then Antartica...lol...no...)
It would help though if they sold jackets there...only staff get's a jacket >.>

Wait, from the video it looked like your options were "Wild Ride" (ride the penguinmobile through a very elaborate tunnel while you see not-real penguins and the vehicle spins around for reasons that are unclear) or cutting the ride entirely to just go and see the actual penguin exhibit? Do you mean to say that in order to see the penguins at all, you *have* to ride? Oof.

I wouldnt wait in Line for that, I cant believe this is what they were making such a huge fuss about. Its a Multi Million Dollar time waster, not an E ticket attraction.

He rode on the mild experience due to the cameras. If guests wanted to film the ride experience, we wouldn't let them do wild for safety reasons.
it looks like fun just think it got over hyped. and my god im sure they have handlers near the penguins to protect children and birds. people worry to much. anyways hope seaworld the best with their new attraction.

The exhibit looks good, but the ride seems terrible. It's like they were trying to market on "March of the Penguins" movie, but were about seven years too late.

I totally agree, just takes a few kids to drop some litter or throw something and ruin it. Or as you said I see problems with them being too close, for example one could bite a child then sea world have a HUGE lawsuit on their hands
Disney never got beat, when Merlin showed up at Orlando. It actually created a bigger profit Margin, since who wants to go to a Theme Park made out of Plastic blocks???
Rode this four years ago (and it kept breaking down) when our daughter was too small to ride the wild ride so we rode mild. Thought it was terrible then and terrible last week when she was big enough. Thankfully we didn't queue long. There are some fantastic rides at Seaworld but this isn't one of them!

Why hello dere.
I went on this ride today and it's absolutely horrible. The end where you see the penguins was especially bad because it looked as if the the place hadn't been cleaned of the urine and poop in weeks. I even saw some penguins that couldn't even move around and were eating the ice because it was so crowded in there. There were way too many penguins in there than there should have been. I will never go on this ride again.
That's exactly how it is in the real Antarctica, and anyway I'm almost positive they said that they clean the place every day.
Zoe, you are a person who has no care. think about the effort they put into it. Probably had to go through heck n' back to get those penguins. just think about how long it took to build, track the coordinates of movement for the trackless ride, animate, and put the penguins in. Plus think about the habitat. Thats how they live in the arctic every day!

All works perfectly until the computer on one of the cars goes offline then another (the one I was in) hits it. Waited another hour before riding it again. The funniest part was all that build up was for no penguins because they were ill or something.

Yeah this place is better than Universal and Disney IMO. It's got the best mix of rides, shows, and animal exhibits, plus some really great theming and events. Aaand, it's got the cheapest admission price of all the Orlando theme parks.

another problem is that you have to ride the ride to see the damn penguins and not everyone wants to ride a stupid ride like that just to see penguins. this ride looks like its not worth going on
I've only got one thing to say, Disney.
While the video is awesome and the attraction's design does look beautiful, but as somebody else had said, the story isn't quite there. While the presentation does look neat, the execution just falls flat. In fact, I actually became quite bored on numerous occasions. I really want Sea World to do something awesome so it won't be the butt of so many jokes, but this, unfortunately, doesn't help its case.
As most people say Disney would of done so much better.
