Thought I would drop in and say Hi. Also, I just subscribed to your channel and did ring the bell. I just did a shave with the SLOC and a short Take2 on it also. I like this razor and also have the PAA DOC razor. The Pacific products that you used are great and I have gotten the same results. I bought two DOC PAA razors and gave one to my brother. The screw attachment to the handle was offset. I called them months ago and they said they would replace it...that never happened....but I still like the razor. Have a great day and many more shaves. Hello Chris. I have the PAA DOC, in the longer travel handle, for $45. I bought the RozoRock SLOC, in the Radio Handle, for $20. I prefer the RazoRock SLOC way above the PAA DOC. I like the balance and the smoothness best with the SLOC over the PAA DOC.
I have the PAA Ascencion DOC Flat Bottom, and it is an awesome razor. I can understand how Phoenix Shaving feels though, they took a risk bringing back an old design, it could have very well flopped, but it didn't. They may feel like other companies just wait around to see if their recreations are a success, and then copy them when they are, without giving credit or paying homage to the original, or giving credit to someone who went out on a ledge and recreated it. All of that said, I doubt if RazoRock could produce this copy in the same HQ materials that PAA uses at the same price point.
The original was the Grand Shave King self-lubricating razor. "Inspired by" products are just fine in my book. They may even be developed to a higher level of performance. Be it fragrances, razors, what have you. If it's a good product, chances are the market will reward the manufacturer with sales. Thanks for your reviews and insights, they are appreciated.
I do like this video and I like all Chris’s video’s. As far as Phoenix being peeved about this design that he recreated, I do understand his frustration. This great design has been dormant for many many years and if he did not bring it back, the DOC razor most likely would not have been reintroduced. That said, I am a consumer trying to survive in this overpriced world trying to survive and I do personally like the fact that Razorock created( or recreated,lol) this fine version.
Hi Chris, enjoy watching your videos! In some advice....just got into Wet Shaving a few months ago, after purchasing a $3 Fatboy at a flea market. Couldn’t be happier with how it shaves, however, I would like to purchase a heavier, longer handle, stainless steel razor that will last me for now on? I like the adjustable feature of the Fatboy, except the only setting I use is #6. I don’t want to spend a great deal of money, just want a real good razor that could be passed down to my children some day.....what Razor or Razors would you recommend? Thanks for the help! (I use a DE razor to shave both my head and face)....Thank you!!

I have to agree with you about complaining about someone copying a copy and getting upset. However, no one would have a DOC of any kind unless PAA brought it back out of obscurity. So for my money I support him because of that. Plus I love my el cubano DOC.

JM JM that cleared the confusion. Having a yaqi razor shipped vs the RR SLOC with a choice of SS handle is more expensive. The SLOC is a deal maker!
