Jumanji, a game for the whole family. All you need is food, water, a shelter, a gun...or two, tons of ammo, and really...really strong nerves. For risks and side effects, read the game instructions and ask your local zoo or expedition leader.
Lol
😂😂😂😂
Not to mention smart enough players to not play indoors. or if they do, to leave when the house is covered in killer plants, or when an indoor monsoon starts to head out the door not up the stairs.
@@Yugioh420 If you want to spread chaos instead of isolating it, and risk losing possession of the game again, sure.
@@jp3813 yea like all the Isolated Chaos that happened while playing Indoors? Sure seems to me the chaos spread just fine while the game was played indoors. Plus they risked there lives more then necessary, like the possibility of drowning or getting eaten
21:54 Well actually, Michelle, you're quite right. Both the hunter and Alan's dad are played by the same actor, for a purpose: When he was a kid, Alan was scared of his father for so long and he felt that he was mistreating him and that he never loved or cared about him. But when he gets sucked into the game and trapped for 26 years, Alan begins to regret what he said to his father and running away from him and wants another chance at apologizing to his father and repairing their relationship. The hunter looks like his father because he is supposed to resemble his father, because it will give Alan this big chance of redemption and standing up to his fears. But instead, Alan just runs away when the hunter shoots at him. In the end, when Alan realizes how his father's, Carl's, the factory's, and the town's downfalls were all caused by Alan's irresponsibility and cowardice, he gets confronted at gunpoint by the hunter when he's about to finish the game. But instead of running away, Alan finally has enough courage and remorse to stand up to his fears, go back in time, fix the past, and hope for the best between him and his father.
Oh my goodness wow. I did not know they were the same people! Wtf!
omg i did not know that!!
The only thing young Allan did wrong was not confessing that he put the shoe on the
conveyor belt. When Allan stopped running from Van Pelt he happened to roll 'Jumanji' He and or Sarah would have been shot, otherwise. Most of Allan's problems were the result of bad parenting.
@@accam6734 "is _always the parents , a child should never have any responsability for his/her actions_ dud"

No wonder your kids are disrespectful and inmature af
@@Dan_Kanerva Please tell us in what way Allan was a problem child? He was a good kid with an emotionally distant father who had trouble even hugging him. He didn't know it was a gang of kids bullying Allan because he wouldn't listen. And all he could say when he found out was 'You took the beating well so i'm going to award you by sending you off to boarding school.' It's parents like this who have kids who commit suicide.
Every actor turns in top-of-career performances. Bebe Neuwirth, David Alan Grier ("Fine! TAKE IT!!"), Jonathan Hyde as both Dad and Hunter, on and on. And this is what makes this film so much fun to re-watch.
Wanna play the game? Have a tennis racket or two handy. An ax. Rope. Whips. Chains. Bug spray. I thought the Dwayne Johnson new-films are OK but they have all the charm of a video-game instead of this one. It's so apparent when watching this original compared to either or both of these newer films. It's not just Robin Williams that is missing - it's the heart of the story.
I miss Robin Williams.... we really needed his humor and intelligence in this shitty time of covid and war.
Right! Him and Jim Carrey are the only comedians I like
Exactly my friend
He is greatly missed.

Fun fact: alligators and crocodiles have incredibly strong muscles to close their mouths (exerting about 3700 psi, or 25.5 kPa). However, the muscles that open their mouths are not strong at all, so their mouths can easily be held shut with just one hand.
You calling a movie from 1995 an "old" movie makes me feel so old... 😭
They watched Wizard of Oz and that was a million times older lol… 1939

RIP, Robin Williams! Love this movie!
The film was a box office success, making $260 million dollars against a $75 million dollar budget, but recieved mixed reviews by Critics, with Roger Ebert called it "One of the worst kids movies ever made, and said that "the PG rating was a joke and the film is so dark and scary, it should have gotten a PG 13 rating."
He gave it 1/4 star rating.

Yeah. But, to be fair, at least people cared about what kids saw on TV and film, even if "they" were a little overboard in their judgment. Nowadays, nobody cares about the children anymore. "Watch what you want" is the attitude now.

He was also the director of _Honey, I Shrunk the Kids._
SO underrated.
Also Jurassic Park III.
I watched lots of reactions on this movie and it really is surprising to me, how almost no one noticed that actor who played Adams father (Jonathan Hyde) also played role of Van Pelt too. I guess he represented Alans weakness.
Also I do not know did you watched new Jumanji movies (which I think are great ones, but this one is THE Jumanji) but last camera shot of this movie is also first camera shot in "Jumanji welcome to the jungle" first of two sequels.
That actor was also on the Macaulay Culkin movie Richie Rich as well as Titanic and Anaconda
If you noticed that was a young Kirsten Dunst, you should see her in Interview With A Vampire. 🦇 Funny how in here she dealt with a giant spider and a boy named Peter. 😉🕷
I'll admit it took me a minute... but once I got it 👍

Oh man this movie is epic!!!
She was more proactive in this movie than the entire Spider-Man trilogy. Just saying.
I remember when this movie came out. I was so pumped. The CGI was revolutionary for the time

And in "interview with vampire"
@@clementchastel899 yeah she was even younger in that 1
While Robin Williams is *amazing* in this movie, Bonnie Hunt is incredible too. Her reaction when they set the game down in front of her really sells the traumatic memory she's been suppressing for the past 26 years. I *adore* this movie. I saw it in theaters twice when it came out (first with my dad, then I dragged my mom to it), I got it for Christmas when it came out on video and proceeded to watch it repeatedly, and I always had to show it to any of my friends that hadn't seen it. Even if the cg is super dated, the story and performances from the cast more than make up for it. I even bought the board game when it came out. Used to play it with my dad and my sister all the time.
And she just doesn’t cry when it’s sad , she really feels the movie every part, I just love her

The Hunter may have seemed familiar because he's also the father. He spent all those years being hunted by a man with his fathers face.

Filmed in my college town (Keene, New Hampshire) about an hour away. The Parrish Shoe Store is still there, too!
Ellie is the only person in this world who'd get scared watching Jumanji XD love her!
This film scared a lot of children. I was 12 when I saw this movie in the theater. I wasn't scared. But, Jumanji is definitely a thrill ride.

as a kid it actually took me a few viewings to realize the hunter was the same actor as his Dad.
and it was in theaters long enough my friends and I to see the movie in the theater and on LSD. it was even better
Robin Williams was amazing as both a comedic and a dramatic actor. He plays a very serious role as a doctor in the 1990 film "Awakenings," which I highly recommend. For a comedy that showcases his more dramatic side and his insane voice acting talent, you might like Mrs. Doubtfire.
Only now, more than 26 years after watching this movie for the first time, I realized Van Pelt and Alan's dad were played by the same actor, lol.
This movie will always be the best version, because there’s real stakes, real loss, and real personality.
"Very old movie."
Me born in 1983: Ouch, my hip.....
I read the book that this was based off of when I was a kid as well as watched this movie. Crazy they made a full movie out of a book that was like 32 pages. They actually did make a board game of this after the movie came out though, and can still be ordered online.
Why not? Hollywood keeps trying and failing with Seuss...
If this is your first Robin Williams movie then you did one of his best. And there are several other excellent films of his to put on your to-do list, "Dead Poets Society" (1989), "Good Morning Vietnam" (1987), "Mrs. Doubtfire" (1993), "The Birdcage" (1996), and if you're real daring do "The World According to Garp" (1982). Robin Williams was a comedian who landed the role as the funny alien, Mork, in the 1978 situation-comedy TV show "Mork & Mindy" and was a big hit! It made him very famous where bigger movie roles soon came his way like these five you would enjoy. ✌😎

I grew up on the cartoon series based on Jumanji. In the series they actually got to go inside the game to solve the riddles and pretty much everything was out to kill you. All the creatures had sharp teeth! The zebras, the rhinos, HELL EVEN THE ANTEATERS WERE MANEATERS!
Thinking back, pretty sure this was my first introduction to horror as a kid. The kid getting sucked into the board and the stampede were _so terrifying_ and intense when I was young.
JUMANJI will always be in 90s kids heart...

It's the law of Jumanji.
It's the rules of the game.

Thanks.
In case you didn't notice, the actor who plays the hunter is the same actor who plays his dad, maybe the game wanted to torture Alan that way
Someone in another video pointed out that while we see what's going on with the stampede/lion/spiders/plants and Van Pelt, the mosquitoes have been behind the scenes discreetly making short work of everyone not long after they escape through the attic window and have racked up a body count of 50 cases in bites by the time we see one of them again,(I'm estimating within half an hour, imagine the rest of the day, there's even a radio news report about people in the hospital due to fevers and seizures brought on by the mosquitoes when Aunt Nora's driving home)them and the monster plants, they made the most out of all this.
Jumanji was, next to Aladdin, the first movie I saw Robin Williams play in.
back when i lived in the states i had the pleasure of meeting robin a number of times since my third wife and i lived in the same community as robin, first time i ever met him he said "bet you get great reception up there and if you dont then you must be with AT&T" since im 7'7" and every single time we encountered each other he always started with a height joke, great guy, was so sad he passed.
also, id had bad luck with wives until i married for the 6th time, weve been together longer than any of my previous marriages and we recently got a fat labrador and called him robin
Fun fact: the guy that plays the hunter is the same as the dad. He’s supposed to resent Allan’s fear of him/the jungle
Zathura is also a fun watch (which is the spiritual successor), and even the new Jumanjis are fine (not as good as the original though). Zathrua first though.
Oh, and if you want more great Robin WIlliams movies with a similar vibe I definitely recommend Hook.
Also, one of the best modern comedies: Palm Springs!

They don't have "Easter Eggs" (i.e. special sections at the very end of the movie) or bloopers for older movies, except for Jackie Chan movies. For other movies, they didn't want people to know about the goofs, misspoken lines, etc. so we normally wouldn't be allowed to see them. However, they MIGHT distributed separately any bloopers they had, but it would usually some out years later, and usually were on a separate medium (i.e. film, disc, etc.) They started creeping in once a few got out and they realized that people loved them.
I love how Ellie says "Hyay guys".

RIP Robin Williams. His tragic end is a lesson for anyone suffering with mental health problems. Please find someone to talk to. This is such a fun family film
What makes me mad is they’re people who have false information about why he committed suicide
Mental health? Nope. Sorry. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's and he was staring down the barrel of his third divorce; he was working in movies he clearly, in interviews, had no interest in doing to pay his ex-wives. The true reason he did what he did was never truly proven. However, considering the position he was in it was, sadly, understandable.

OMG I love this movie so much! Love your channel ❤ R.I.P Robin Williams 😢
Its always crazy hearing a foreigner speak my language, and I feel like English is pretty widespread, but even still, Its heartwarming knowing people learn other languages to communicate better with different cultures, I took 4 years of Spanish in HS and I feel like it wasn't as helpful as actually trying to learn a language, I kinda just took it because a foreign language was required. I wish I could tell my younger self to take it more seriously, Im decent in Spanish but not as much as I should be, I didn't take the class as seriously as I wish I could have. That being said 10 years later an I am studying Japanese, Mandarin and refining my Spanish. French is another language I want to learn the basics of after I get a little more comfortable at speaking and hearing other languages first, But I FUCKING love how language learning can dissolve barriers, Xioama is a perfect example, also Laoshu (rip). Its basically because of them that sparked my want to learn and to integrate myself into other cultures, Speaking someone's language goes straight to the heart. Loved this video, subscribed!
Also, I am a complete idiot this is clearly a Russian Accent, sorry, Russian is a little lower on my list of learning but still I want to get the basics down.
Before the sequel with The Rock and Kevin Hart, there was "Zathura: A Space Adventure," which was basically just "Jumanji" except set in a sci-fi context instead of a jungle. Good movie, though. You should watch that one too...
One of the rare movies that worked that was adapted from a board game.
It wasn't a board game first, it was a book by an incredible children's author named Chris Van Allsburg. The board game was made to release with the movie in 1995.
Now, Clue genuinely is a superb flick based on a board game.
