What a win tonight 😃 A performance like that in derbies with that intensity been missing for far too long now. Every single player were immense. Up the Toffees!!! So proud & so so happy tonight
Not really a football fan but am happy everton got those points today. Relegation would be a disaster for the whole city. Don't need a half finished stadium on the waterfront.
Great timing to catch them in action on the long South Stand stretches of Standing-seam, naturally-anodised aluminium. Point of order: there will be no turfing involved in the pitch laying. They will be planting rye-seed when they have finished all the under-structures of the pitch. Firstly they will have to dig out the top layers of the current surface to remove the hardened material which was placed there to support the heavy machinery and equipment, such as monster cranes, sea containers, truss supports and then also many materials etc. Then the pitch will have drainage and water-pipes laid underneath (I think the blue pipes that you could see sticking out of the concrete base of the East Stand was the water supply from the reclaimed water tank outside the NE corner of the stadium), and then a plastic mesh skeleton underneath before more sand. The rye-seed will be planted in that and then lastly around August they'll inject/sow more plastic (about 5%) to hold the young rye-grass firm. It's a hybrid pitch design. COYB, let's get some points tonight and cause trouble over the park.
Good morning David, hope you don't mind me asking you, as you have so much knowledge about the stadium. I have noticed that the final roof covering on the west stand is several different shades. Do you think this will naturally change and blend in so it all matches, or is this an oversight from the manufacturer? Thanks Glenn
@@glennblundell976 Glenn: No problem at all. Always happy to oblige with an answer if I know it. Anyway, who wouldn't want to extend happiness after such a fantastic result last night? I'm envious of anyone that attended as the atmosphere must have been off the charts. I hope that is repeatable at BMD. So, to the answer to your question. It takes time for Aluminium to 'naturally anodise', the process where Aluminium chemically reacts with air to form a layer of Aluminium Oxide. At some point there will be no further Aluminium exposed to air as the Oxide layer will complete on the surface. The reels will have been manufactured at different times and when wound up in a reel, air can't get at the surface of the Aluminium. It most certainly will have no problem anodising on the roof, given time. As a point of compare-and-contrast, the barrel-cladding is anodised Aluminium (i.e. not 'naturally'), which means it's been chemically and industrially treated. The Aluminium is bathed in acid in what you might describe as a battery, so that the impurities are removed and the surface is clean and smooth-ish before it can then be treated with colour, if required, and then finished off with a kind of lacquer lamina. Hence the barrel-cladding has a bright metal finish, whereas the naturally-anodised Aluminium has a matt grey finish.
@davidbadcock2225 Couple of questions about the roof that I haven't been able to figure out: the gaps between the side and north/south roof(s) will presumably have some kind of guttering attached to one side underneath? Also any idea why the west roof rafters are tied down to the terracing with cables (they've been there for months, you can see one at 9:16 but other vids focusing on the west stand show them more clearly)?
Great videos nick as always As a liverpool supporter im jealous I love anfield But me opinion is liverpool fc need a 65,000 stadium Anfield as it is now not gonna be a 65,000 This new stadium gonna be a striking force for everton fc
Great to see the roofing rolling out. Today is my wife's and also my daughter's birthday. It'll feel like mine too if we can beat that lot tonight. UTFT!
Great video as usual Mr Drone but an even better result for you last night, amazing three points. I feel like this result means your PL status is going to be safe. Best wishes, Graeme from Portsmouth. Play Up Pompey.
Great video Nick, as per. Just went back and watched your video from a year ago, 25 April 2023 which was only a few days after the topping out ceremony. Amazing to see the progress you're documenting
Great video Nick as always nice to see the roof sheets going on there aren't many of those profile rolling presses in this country I did a project year's ago where it came from Germany then went to Belgium after
Greetings from Georgia Nick I arrived Monday evening flying over the snow-covered Caucus Mountains. Great timing getting that roof covering installation even if it was the second one it was good to see the worker's coordination, your next video will find that completed I think. Best of luck to the Blues tonight. My TV box has been damaged during travel so I might not be able to see the game. I am in Tbilisi trying to get it repaired.
You deserved that, Nick. At the time of writing it's 23.13 and Everton have more or less just secured our PL status for another year. Well done mate. From Micky
Spurs and Everton will have the top 2 stadiums (stadia?) in the Premier.....but Everton have the best location......pity it's not a 60,000 seater......
As a United fan im routing for you to stay up..would be a massive shame to move into this amazing stadium in the Championship. Been watching these since the beginning, even been passed and had a look. Enjoy!
Great video Nick and great timing with the South Stand roof I think the reason they have not started with the seats in the Lower South Stand and Lower Away section is because they are going to be the areas for rail seating which I assume requires a different installation process
looks good nice vid of the build keep up the good vid you do on the channel roof look well thanks four the good vid you do on the channel thanks four all the vids you do on channel
Not much left on the seats, just the lower half of the away end, about 1/3 of the West Stand, the south stand (probably being done last in one go) and then some other odd areas missing a couple seats
As for the pitch works, they’ve completed the NAL Multiduct down in front of the east and north stand, that will carry all the electric and comms cables around the pitch for advertising, irrigation pumps etc. They’re digging down the west now for this. They look like they are butt fusion welding long lengths of hdpe pipe in that little tent, these pipes will be for the water supplies to the pitch. I might have missed it, but I haven’t seen any drainage go in, but I may be wrong, maybe the sand is good enough as a huge soakaway.
Great video as usual, Nick. As far as I understand it, when they removed the bricks from the wall in order to install the gates, they preserved the bricks so they could use the same ones in order to reconstruct the wall around the gates. So that being the case, why are the bricks a lighter colour than the rest of the wall near them? Surely they didn't sandblast them or give them a good scrubbing? I'm sure they will blend in over time but I'm just wondering what happened to them.
Great win Nick, I predicted it on my pics against Sutton on BBC website. Am leading him by 10 at the moment, beat him last year too for my first time. If we play like that on the weekend, we will have a good chance against Brentford.
WoW! What a Scoop! You've got the Roof Roll-out! There's almost too much to comment here. One thing that worries me about the Pitch is drainage. The rain just doesn't drain well at all here and I'm not sure slapping down the Turf on top will solve it. It could act like a sponge and then become a Quagmire after heavy rain? As to those propellers they could be KC's? but I'm not sure if he does BMD anymore because I haven't seen anything from him.
Watching your video if you want to come into the ground with me tomorrow let me know I’ve got a slot hard hat and hi vis is all you need I have to go right into the middle of the pitch

@@davidbadcock2225Thank you David, that explains it very well and makes perfect sense
They'll also add in a non permeable sheet between the sand and the top soil, to prevent the sand from working it's way into the top soil.
Congratulations on the derby win from a Sunderland fan..well done

Another superb video and hopefully a win tonight over that wee team from the other side of the park.
Brilliant catch of that roof being laid out, and beating the shite in the same day. UTFT!

Incredible nick thanks. 👏
Some of your best work Nick, the South Stand roof roll was excellent. Plus a great win last night (never in doubt!). Al

It could be 62k if safe standing regs are ever relaxed.
Had to stay below 53 to get the planning through quickly, can go to 62
Well done Nick, great to catch the roof work. ❤👍

They don't turf it - it'll be a sown hybrid pitch.
I wish we still had Sean Dyche at Burnley.
Thanks Nic - great update! Best of luck to the Blues tonight - I can but dream!! COYB💙

Mike: you're over-worrying about a non-problem again. Please read my separate comment about the pitch.
Looking good. Will the road be closed off on match days?
Could this be considered the best purpose built football stadium in the UK?
You can see the pitch, it’s right in the middle. Prepared just in case there’s a budget over-run.
Hi Nock , great capture of the rollout of the cladding. I wonder how such a continuous lenght comes out of a 20/40' container !
Large spools of aluminium mate, you’ll see them lined up on tge western plaza
Magic !
Reckon you and David Badcock, should dive in the neighbouring dock as a celebration once the roof is complete, great job covering the build lads
🤣. Terry, I value my health though.
Are they not putting rail seating in north stand? Seen a lot of other clubs have them now but wasn’t sure why we weren’t building them as we go
It might be electrical cables for the ADVERTISING BOARDS 🤔 around the ground 😊keep up the good work 👏 UTFT NIL SATIS NISI OPTIMUM

Does anybody know if there's any writing going on the stands ( White seats ) spelling everton??
Longest rolled roof in the country 106 meters I believe.

Belter video again mate.
Any news on the whereabouts of Salah? Heard he went missing? Fell in the dock by any chance?
After many viewings I have not yet seen any evidence of floodlights. Are they yet to be added. When is the barrel cladding going to continue?
Floodlights have been installed. Barrel cladding will start once the west stand roof is finished - they’ll work on the west barrel cladding next
The floodlights are under the roof near the speakers.
Cant believe there was a traffic warden around there - they rarely venture up that way in my experience.
They're not using turf for the pitch. They're going to seed it.
2. nil NICK you willed em
I’m not kidding come with me with pleasure I’m from stoke
