മിക്കവാറും ലോകകപ്പുകളിൽ ചാംപ്യൻസ് ആയവരോട് തോറ്റു പുറത്തായ ടീം.
കാരണം എതിർ ടീമിന്റെ കളിമികവ് മാത്രം ആയിരുന്നില്ല.

Came here because I heard Merson talking about hitting the post from a free-kick...
11:31 - That's exactly the type of thing I remember (peak) Seaman doing on a weekly basis as an Arsenal fan.
Also though, among many bad decisions (including a clearly onside disallowed dutch goal), the referee 100% should have sent Koeman off and 11 v 10 probably England would have won...having said that... Bergkamp, Overmars not to mention others + at home...it's not certain England would have won. Though the free retake Koeman got was the second inconsistent mistake. Just look at the England (clear penalty - Platt and the ball was inside the box) free kick 9:30. Wouters was about 5 yards away when the kick was taken. No retake, no yellow card. One of the worst and inconsistent performances by a ref in a big game I can remember.

Sad that Van Basten had already retired at only 31 because of injury. If only the Dutch had the unity they had at the 1988 Euros, they would have done well at the tournaments they participated in from 1990-2000,because the talent they had, its hard to believe they never won anything

I agree…unfortunately, their best players were rebels: Gullit fought with the coach and was left out, the same did Rijkaard…they retired from the national team when they were in their early thirties…Ronald Koeman also retired early…and of course Van Basten was never able to recover after the injury…all of them could’ve easily played until the late 90s for the national team
