    I've only been playing about 2 weeks since I "discovered" this gem of a game. ALL other games are on permanent hold.😂 I love this game.
    I set up a pretty basic little house at the Mysterious Machine, atop the big rock since day one. I've built a high palisade wall around the device, with spike strips outside. So far it has withheld two red ant and one mosquito attack.
    I built a small temporary base at the research station in the sandbox, and when the black ants attacked, they did so there; which amounted to nothing.
    I am going to start expanding my house and use mushroom, clay and pebblets for a stronger structure.
    Thanks for the tips.

      That’s a similar experience to what I had when I first found out about the game. It’s amazing. I refused to that leave starter area by the machine for a little while. The spiders terrified me 😂
      Then I got into the full swing of things and realized with a little bit of parry skill that no matter how big the bug was, that this parry skill was going to save me in combat.
      Then I started building and realized the variety I of building pieces was great . And that the more I played the more I wanted to play again and again lol. The more I did = the stronger I got.
      P.S. I am glad to hear that I could help you out.
      RPG elements + Survival truly makes for a great game, or at least Grounded does it well lol.

    Thanks for all the great info, especially tip #10! Roofs are one of the most noticeable parts of a build but it doesn't seem like they get talked about very often.

      Of course and thank you. Yeah they definitely stand out. Either in a good way or a bad way 😂 I should have some new Builds out here soon to further increase depth to roofs and details throughout the build 😀

    Btw just a heads up for the chests.. it also helps out if you’re crouched when trying to place the chests on the bottom if you have already placed them on top

    Why does know one talk about what direction the arrow is facing and what that means when pleasing a wall. Is it pointing outside or inside?

      It’s mostly telling you if it’s interior use or exterior use like if you want the details on the build to show up different .. not all building shows up like this tho

    You can build chest under half floors if you’re crouching and looking at it from the side.

    I need help getting the swap variant binding back. I see you have it when you're placing floors, but I customized my settings and I can't seem to figure out which one is used to swap building variant

    • @ChaosBearGaming
      @ChaosBearGaming  26 днів тому +1

      Okay so it’s hard to say exactly what your configuration is since it’s customized. But typically the default button to swap building variants is R1 on PlayStation 5. That same button also throws your currently equipped weapon. If you know what button throws your currently equipped weapon then go into the building menu and press that button. Ideally that button should swap the building variants for you. Hopefully this helps 😀

      @adamanteumn2981 26 днів тому +1

      @@ChaosBearGaming well I tried the huck button and got nothing. When I'm in build mode it literally doesn't have a binding set to change variant, but it's still says "change variant" with no button next to it

    • @ChaosBearGaming
      @ChaosBearGaming  26 днів тому

      @@adamanteumn2981 that’s odd. Are you able to go into the settings and just assign a specific button to it? By default it’s the throw button, so that would be a good option.

    • @adamanteumn2981
      @adamanteumn2981 26 днів тому

      @@ChaosBearGaming after messing with all my settings and repeatedly resetting to factory settings, I've come to the conclusion that you can't change the place building piece button to R1, without permanently removing the ability to swap variant. There is no other binding option that seems to work for swapping once you use R1 for something else

    • @adamanteumn2981
      @adamanteumn2981 26 днів тому

      This is super annoying, as I like my survival bindings to be similar across multiple games, and the devs didn't include a binding option for variant past the default

      Hey there! Addition to tip 1 (I'm still there, so idk if you will talk about it, but highly unlikely): You can press "Change Axis" and you will swap to another building type, where you can't rotate the item, but you are able to elevate them up or down. So if you had placed your half-shelfes/floors and you want to build chests underneath, try swapping to this building mode and press the button to elevate them items down (should be R2 on console, not sure, but you will see what I meant ingame)

    • @ChaosBearGaming
      @ChaosBearGaming  4 місяці тому +1

      @@WingedRonin I did not talk about rotating the axis option, I forget it’s there half the time. But that’s a really good call out. I knew what you meant as soon as you said it, but realizing its potential as a tip completely went over my head. Thanks for sharing that and pointing it out. I really appreciate that.
