"woah thats a nice guitar" *googels it* "oh cool its 5 thousand dollars *closes tab*
I think your profile picture accurately portrays your comment XD
Gotta love the life of being a guitarist. Everything just keeps getting more and more expensive. Lol
You can get an auditorium/concert hall/000 guitar that’s good for fingerpicking for much cheaper.
I just picked up my first, a seagull concert hall for $400
i have 25$ guitar but thats ok im only a beginner
Zbird Music my car cost £400
don't mind this. it's just a list for me! :)

Paul, i am a semi-professional guitar player, still, i always check out your instructional videos for how beautifully they are produced and for the precision of your explanations, as well as your calmness in expressing some basic techniques, which, in some senses, are the harder to explain.
You are doing a great job for future talents-to be. Thank you for enlightening potential future musicians.
Ozzy Martani, I would like to agree with you. I am 16 years of age, soon to be 17 this coming up March. Ive been playing for about two years now. Ive played live everyweek for a few months now. And my recent hurdle is teaching my friend how to play guitar. Im doing it for fun. He wants to know, and he seems to catch on faster in the enviroment we have. As in it's not structured. He'll ask me, "How hard would that be for me?" After I would play a song. I would tell him and then we would start. Or I'll show him how to transition to chords. But my point is I do my best to be calm, joking, and non-strict while teaching. I think it helps beginners learn better that way. That way they are not stressed out if they mess up.
@@TheVirginianRambler how did you get confidence to play live?
wilson fisk well now I’m 18, but back then I would just put all anxiety or nervousness into my playing, even Turning it to excitement. After a few shows you start getting used to it. After a few songs in the set, you’ll loosen up and start playing better. Overall it’s a great experience.
@@TheVirginianRambler I have been playing for 1.5 year but I dont think I would have confidence playing live. All props too you mate
wilson fisk I say start getting chops down and just try and find people to play with. Learn theory, it helps you communicate what ideas you have. And overall keep at it
I love how you make videos for people of different levels! The tougher ones inspire us and the easier ones keep up our confidence.
I came here only to listen to Paul playing
Erwu 1337 + to fall sleep because as a guitar player I never felt the feeling of someone playing guitar for you to sleep
So am I haha
He is great
Same and his voice is soothing...no homo hahah his accent is calming
Erwu 1337 that's fantastic
I dropped my finger and cant find it, what do i do????
Robert Gillespie did you drop it inside the guitar? Try and shake it out, fingers suck to fish out.
Amen
Use a pick
be happy ^^
Robert Gillespie shake your guitar, if it makes a rattle noise it’s probably in there

Thanks!
Anouk-Lost is the Song my dad played before i went to bed 9 years Ago and now i found it again thanks Paul :)
Such a quality channel with great attention to detail. Thanks Paul.
This is exactly what I needed Paul just beginning to learn finger style. I'm a guitar player for many years, but learning the fundamentals of fingerstyle with songs is so key and not just playing exercises. Thanks man!
"top 10 easy song to learn"
i'm sure they'll take a couole months
This shit is never quick, is it:
"Oh in just a few *months* you'll learn it."
I freak out after hearing that lmao
These songs are very easy... I learned 3 from this list and every song took about 3 hours
If you really wanna learn a song, you can learn it in just a couple hours. I learned “Future Days” by Pearl Jam, or at least a rendition of it from a video game, in just 2 hours
@@DH_Artist i played the play along tab to that and learnt it first try its short and simple
James Arthur's Say You Won't Let Go is also a very simple fingerstyle song. Has 4 chords, the same picking style of those 4 chords and the order of the chords doesn't change.
Tutorial on Lizz Wright - Speak Your Heart please. That song has such an amazing rhythm.
A few suggestions for your next fingerstyle video:
1. Bloom by The Paper Kites
2. Jacaranda Tree by Josh Garrels
3. Just Breathe by Eddie Vedder (or Willie Nelson)
4. I'll Be Here a While by 311 (why not)
5. Rivers by Allman Brown
Keep up the great work Paul!
+Dylan Standard Noted. Always up for learning some new songs!
Im totally down for these songs. Nice selection :)
Cool songs but the paper kites usually use 2 guitars playing in harmony with both extremely complex movements. Its a great song but a beginner would struggle big time.
I learned bloom :) I love playing itttt
Just my fav ones. I will learn them all for sure. Thanks ! ❤❤

Donkey Kong U should replace Paul.
creations of my own bored mind 121 genius reply, literally awesome
@BackToHeelflip same
master, is that you?
Nerd of Skittles Master, Master
This is a great tutorial, but the intro song was the best part. Could you make a video on that or make tabs?
I love the fact that by watching and listening to you play I know I could learn most of these songs in a day or two. I’m doing it guys I’m learning to play!
I don't know how I ended up here, but it is the best thing I did today. You videos transmit peace and harmony. I admire you at this moment for the way you play the guitar and the tranquility you generate. I hope to one day play like you. Keep making these kind of videos because you are amazing ✨💕
I Am An Indian Living In Kuwait.... And This Is Amazing.... This Encourages Me To Play The Guitar More... Because I Used To Play Guitar Since I Was 5 Years Old!!!
These got me really started in fingerstyle, esp when I was starting, I only know ,"Nothing else matter" and these songs are nearly identical when it comes to patterns
Been learning nothing else matters for a week as my first finger picking song (ive had the guitar for a month) .. i can play the first like 30-40 seconds its amazing i think it makes my hands adapt better to the guitar than normal chords even tho i learned CAGED but am learning more from this song .. yesterday i spent the day mastering the hammer on haha had a blast
You deserve a lot more subscribers
FromTheArcticCircle true but not everyone is interested in learning the guitar.
Can you make a tutorial on Wonderful Tonight please?
Chris Diaz yes please!
pleeeeeeez I was able to learn the part from the video but the rest of the song would be nice
I've noticed you have a ukulele in the background of some vids. I'd love to see you do a vid on a few of your favorite songs to play using it.
You always have so much passion when you play, I can’t tell you really do love it!
Thank you for making this man and thank you man for existing
dust in the wind was the first finger picking song i learned. Highly would recommend to any beginner to finger picking
Just learned it as my frist song to. What song do you recommend next?
@@imreagv5499 fast car by tracy chapman. The girls love it
We're going to be friends was the first song I learned on guitar and one of my favorite songs of all time I'm so happy you included it
I love how these are actually really easy to learn and play. Most of these lists are usually “easy” as in easy for someone who’s more experienced in playing guitar. I personally think that any beginner could learn to play these songs pretty easily.
But how will I learn without the tabs
That guitar (and your playing) sounds incredible
Would love a tutorial on queen of california by john mayer (his accoustic version)
Saïan Cantin Alright! But, nine out of ten times a tutorial gets flagged by the record company, and chances are the vid gets taken down!
Thats alright with me! ill stare at my pc screen and hit refresh until that video gets out and enjoy it while it lasts ;) but kidding aside, that version is really nice, as well as "like olivia" he plays in that same session.
Hi Saian, while Pauls version would likely be better there are quite a few things out there to learn that song and as most of it is a repeated phrase I found it quite easy to learn. Check out the acoustic version of the man himself on youtube and you will be 90% done as you can see most of his fingering/technique, depending on how your guitar playing is I suppose. I am nothing special. Match that video with tabs you can find online.
That said, when he goes to the C, Am and in the next bit the D chord I would be interested in Paul's thoughts on exactly what his right hand is doing, seems like some mix of picking and strumming
Put it on your Patreon!
Thank you, I'm new at playing guitar, and I was looking for song like this, really appreciate!! Keep up the good work!
Paul: in a few months, i'm sure you'll get it.
Me: Challenge excepted.
From one Dutch man raise in Utah to one raise in Holland your great reminds me of me when I was 10 yrs old guys if you buy a guitar and play it .It will be your best friend for ever. Enjoy
I really enjoy your videos!
I'd like a: "Top 10 Intermediate Finger Picking Songs"
Top 10 hard fingerpickig songs!!!!!! Can you ? Please....
that would be awesome!
Neon john mayer live
That's all haha
Not to mention Never Going Back Again - Fleetwood Mac and probs the hardest acoustic song to play lol
Yes!
Antoine dufour, love percussive fingerstyle!
I love your version of wonderful tonight! Could you do a more detailed tutorial on it?
Your'e the man Paul. These really are some of the best produced guitar videos on this whole site. Good luck to you and keep up the good work!
Ok i love this channel❤❤
You made me buy a guitar dude😍
Phoenix Never enough guitarists! Welcome to the club 👊
No! You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a guitarist. Take it back and get a viola. You never see enough viola players, and they're ALWAYS a hit at the campfires...
Marc Johnson I already have violin , oud , piano , and lately the guitar😉
But i alomst mastered the piano 💙👌
@Ale A the doodoo
You are so accurate and clear toned it's truly pure beauty to my ears
can you please do a "speak your heart" tutorial cause they don't have one or i cant find one.
How is it i buy a new acoustic yesterday and watched you old finger picking video and now you post this? I think it's a sign... lol
Been frustrated and lost a lot of motivation as I've been trying stuff like Jon Gomm, Andy McKee etc lately.. this video made me happily pick up and play my guitar again! Thanks Paul!
I came here for the tutorial ,but i got so Addicted to this amazing and beautiful sound you make with your guitar and I just watched all your videos for the rest of the night
A tutorial on Lizz Wright-speak your heart would be great, I have looked on utube and there's nothing?
I enjoyed listening to you play
No one tutorial for this masterpiece, it's weird :/
My favorites, the first one, second R.E.M on 4:20, Damien Rice, Speak your heart. Thanks for sharing!
Why did you choose a Collings guitar over a Martin? Btw beautiful playing as always!
+Night An OM usually resonates a bit easier playing finger picking. This collings is one beast of a guitar!
Paul Davids Ahhhh ok, I see
Variety
This video gets to me. I broke my fretting wrist really bad close to a year ago. Trying to play has not been the same. I just want to play beautiful finger style guitar. Maybe with these simple songs, I'll be able to become happy again playing. Cheers Paul.
Absolutely amazing acoustic songs man, keep up the great work!
The way he feels the music while playing it☺😌
You’re so good! I really love to listen to you playing ☺️
What chords do you play in Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight. I havent found anyone that sounds just like this
are there any chance you could do a lesson about the; fingerpicking/fingerstyle/slap technique/percussive plays, like John Mayer does in "your body is a wonderland"
its a really cool sound that happens in alot of acoustic pop music, but it can be quite tricky to play.
i also honestly, dont know what to search for when looking for lessons about this tech
ua-cam.com/video/KMeL5aM2LXM/v-deo.html
Somone has to put a ring on this man😂😂 handsome and talented what else do they want?
Thank you so much! These songs are super easy for beginners! And to be quite honest they motivate you learn more and more! Not like other videos where you type easy songs, they give you bunch of music which is impossible to figure out! working in my second song! Thanks a lot!!! Stay safe everyone!
This was such a great video and collection of recommended “easy” songs. They are simple to play and could help keep beginner and even intermediate players coming back to their guitar, as steady and exciting progress is easily enjoyed. One of the biggest mistakes a beginner guitarist can make in my opinion is to try learning overly complex pieces right from the start, which often results in too much frustration and a loss of enthusiasm, leading to quitting entirely in the worst cases. But you are so right Paul not to be fooled, as the simple and deliberate nature of these songs really amplify one’s fundamental skill level. Knowing the picking patterns and chord shapes may not be such a challenge, but to play them as crisply and cleanly and on tempo as you do, that is what largely defines one’s abilities. These songs as well as many others out there are great to test and improve upon that foundation. Thank you, Paul!
So glad I’ve found your channel. Love it.
I’m sitting here with my guitar, poised to play along.
wow i want a guitar like that 😍
Thanks for all the great videos. I have to add that your home is also a pleasure to watch - it is beautiful.
Wow, you make it look so easy. MAGIC. BEAUTIFUL. IMPRESSIVE. Thanks for inspiration.
Lovely! Ze staan allemaal in mijn lijst om de komende maanden te leren! Normaal speel ik liever iets speelsere fingersyle (zoals Mark Knopfler), maar soms vergeet ik hoe prachtig zulke simpele nummers kunnen klinken! Dankjewel! :D
This is very nice. Thanks Paul. Great sounding guitar.
I love you so much. Fingerstyle is so much fun and I'm just starting. I appreciate you a lot.
You always make it look so effortless
Renegades, my favorite jam!!!! 💓💓
You should do covers of these songs. I found I enjoyed a majority of these with your interpretation of them.
I love how do you play the guitar, you are my idol 🙋♀️
I've got pretty good at fingerstyle this past year but I'll learn these just to get better. Thanks! 😊
Is it just me but Easton Corbin Are you with Me sounded like Faded of Alan Walker?!?!?!!
May be faded sounded like Easton Corbin
Hahahah yeah not just you😂😉
Probably some influence, or it’s just a coincidence
faded is sampled off Easton corbins song
Bruh these comment are annoying have you ever heard of a sample
Hey man your an amazing guitarists and I really enjoy watching hearing and learning from you man thank you 😊
You can also play renegades without a capo. It's Bm D A G picking the root and the G and B strings
Paul is so good at playing he vibes to his own music
Would be great if u could show the pattern in detail and told us the chords and songs they were for too
I’ve played a Collings guitar before, my dream guitar is a Collings actually, and holy shit I’m jealous it’s so beautiful
Paul playing it's just so relaxing. I'm in love with you
I wish all UA-cam musicians made such beautiful videos.
Thanks for really quality content. I come for listening to your tips and magic, clean sound of your guitar.
IMHO the best balance of video/sound/and content quality. Keep on going.
+Мар'ян Носович Thank you! Takes a lot of to get everything right, but it's definitely worth the effort in my opinion :)
Love the guitar! I love the Zager I bought also. Definitely worth the money if you care about sound. If you don't love the sound you're probably not going to learn to play. Thanks for quality content!
Thank you so much! Beautiful collection. Definitely feel inspired.
I was just looking to get into fingerpicking. Perfect timing :)
Finger Eleven's "One Thing" is also really easy finger style.
Love this list though!
i really need an acoustic now. Thanks paul for helping me make that decision (albeit indirectly)!
Would you please make a video with Going to California by Led Zeppelin and Can't go back by Fleetwood Mac. Thanks so much!
Man that Collings sounds great. I've always wanted one.
Thanks, Paul. These are great songs to play. I was wondering if you could show us some neat ways to spice these songs up a bit? Love your videos! Thank you
His 5 MUST KNOW tips for acoustic playing video is good. Some more slides, pull-offs, hammer ons, and moving around the chords more with melodic notes can help. Plus different volume on certain parts of the song. Percussive elements, muting the strings and striking them, slapping the strings. These are all pretty easy but nice sounding and fun to play, there are harder ones and ways to mix it up.
I love this channel and the videos you make. Thanks so much. It was strange this time around to hear the fingers of the right hand coming off/stroking the strings though, perhaps a cut in the treble was needed, it bothered me a bit and I haven't noticed it before in any of the other videos!!
6:58
God bless you
Your videos always make me want to pick up my guitar and play.
I love Need to Breathe! Thank you for covering this!
Been playing a year not started fingerpicking though. Think I will give Everybody Hurts a go though
I didn't expect to see a NEEDTOBREATH song on here, very nice.
Youth - Daughter is also a really nice sounding easy one.
I notice that in your few next videos, your english accent improved alot :)
😍nice play, I wanna try some of those. Thanks for this cool video😘
Some of my favourites are Home by Emily Barker and Undeveloped Film by Frank Turner
3:12 , learning this. Once the broken 4th string is in order :c
Most local shops will replace just one string for free real quick or charge like less than $5
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Excellent playing as always, Paul. I love watching your videos! One question I have is how often do you change your strings? They always have that crisp new tone.
Thanks! Not that often, these are probably 5-6 months old.
Paul Davids Thanks! Do you recommend any particular strings for a 12 string guitar? It's been about a year since I've restrung and they've *finally* worn out.
