I'm almost positive the GR is sharper along the edges, but seriously not important to me. Slightly soft wide open is easily fixed in post. But GR is a solid lens for those who want straight out of camera sharpness.

Have a look at a mini pod like the Manfrotto Pixie which would also serve as a grip for mobile vlogging. I now tend to carry one with me although not for vlogging.
+OnCam31 yes I was pretty impressed with the audio quality, although wind noise is a problem. You'll see on my next vlog episode. Battery life is good for the size of battery you get, but it's not great. You need a second battery for sure if you want to use it as a serious camera.
So it does record audio? I'm looking at this camera and the G7 X MII. Only reason I like this one more is because it have a classic eye hole. Was this video recorded with the camera mic?
The G7X II does have built in stereo speakers, but there is no easy way to record using an external microphone source, if at all. YEs this video test was using the built in microphone

technically the G7X Mrk II is better with the upgraded processor, but it's basically the same sensor and lens. It comes down to the design. Do you want a flip up or flip out articulating screen? Also, do you need an EVF or not? Those two things should help you decide which one you want.

that's funny because I had no problems with zooming during recording. Make sure you are not in auto mode and also make sure that you don't have the toggle zoom switch changed in custom mode.

+bigheadtaco how about AF comparison? It seems the X70 AF is slow even with phase detect. It seems laggier than even my old X100S. Which surprises me.

both great, I prefer the G5X. However, neither has a microphone input. I would pick the new EOS M6 instead
the m6 is good but it's over my budget.
it's will be mainly for vlogging.
I prefer the swing out screen of the G5, but the swing up screen of the G7X does keep the whole camera thinner.
