I am a Christian. And I see people make these “exposing” videos where they blame the creator of music or movies or whatever for putting bad stuff in it when usually the person had no idea or that wasn’t their goal. I like how in your video you realize it’s not necessarily the people doing it on purpose but just the sin in the world and the devil deceiving them

Even Katy perry states to get famous she made a deal with the devil. They take the main track to a room, perform witch craft on it for success then send it out. Then u play it & invite demons into ur home. Artists like Madonna mock god. Honestly it's demonic. Watch what u watch & listen to.

As a Christian, I have to say that I feel many things in this video a bit "reaching". I mean, in 90% of stories ever told, including pre-christian ancient pagan mythology, to medieval fairytales, and many other tales, we find the idea of revolting against authority. I mean, this is one of the most common plots, how some people are oppressed and they rise, they revolt. Whether this "oppresive" force is meant to represent the christian God is debatable. I agree that animated movies, especially the new ones, and especially disney ones, have indeed a hidden message that literally corrupt our children, but not so much about gnosticism, but about the woke agenda, which includes shadow-banning christianity, and promoting atheism. In my opinion, christianity is indeed attacked in today's media, but not in a way of promoting an alternative faith, but they try to get rid of religions completely

    • @boobah5643
      @boobah5643 День тому

You say this as if 'woke' is not a religion. It is, and one can trace its lineage back to Critical Theory, to Antonio Gramsci, to Karl Marx, and to Hegel. It's a twisted, inconsistent gnosticism (sex is an illusion/all in the child-god's mind, but somehow race isn't?) but it _is_ gnosticism.
Mind, even without connecting woke to gnosticism it's pretty obviously a religion; you don't need to believe in a god (or God) to have a religion; see Buddhism and Confucianism.

It would be heartening were it true that the corporate media has been trying to get rid of religions, but that's not the case. You provide no evidence. Mainstream media has one goal: profit, because it's capitalist. It doesn't care about faith at all. Does it drive people to advertising (who are the true customers of the media)? If so, it will be promoted.

I’m confused with “The Truman Show.” The movie isn’t putting God in a bad light, it’s putting MAN in a bad light. It’s showing how we don’t have control over other people, we can’t dictate the weather, what will happen, and most of all we can’t create life as he did. Whether you think the movie was made to put God in glory or not, the main message was that ACTING as God isn’t right. Which is actually a very good moral lesson, especially in a world where power is placed above almost everything.

They all use different story entities (metaphors) for the Aeon or Archon Creator. In the Truman Show it is advertising interests. In a Night Gallery and TZ plot it was the writer at the typewriter. In Babylon 5 it is the Vorlons and the Shadows and the 1st Ones. Each season a layer is being revealed to show a higher layer or level. A principle of Masonry and Gnosticism.
Gamers and comic readers love the layers of mystery to be conquered. This they love these movies.

I saw the movie and messaging differently from the first time I watched it. To me it was trying to make God look bad constantly. As in God is only trying to control you and one must break free from His oppressive reign and rules. The town was Eden - perfect and controlled. The director was God - oppressive and only in it for his glory. Truman gained knowledge and broke free from the oppressive god to finally be able to gain autonomy.
Though I can see how you described it as well. Thank you for your thoughtful insights.

Think about this,a game series where the creator of the series,Miyamoto who is Zaoist(I think, I know he's not Christian) in a country,Japan, that isn't Christian, was going to have Christianity be the central religion in a game series and Nintendo of America(the country that supposedly is founded on Christian principles)says Christianity shouldn't be included in the Zelda series. The definition of the word Gnostic is about as easy to nail down as a flopping fish. It is derived from the Greek word gnosis, meaning “to know.” In the case of Gnosticism, what is “known” has shifted over the thousands of years since Gnosticism first reared its head during the formation and solidification of the early church.
Basically, the Gnostic believes in acquiring special, mystical knowledge as the means for salvation. According to Gnostic beliefs, there is a Great God that is good and perfect, but impersonal and unknowable. The creator of the universe was actually a lesser deity-a cheap knock-off of the “true God”-who wanted to create a flawless material universe but botched the job. Instead of having a utopia, we ended up with a world infected with pain, misery, and intellectual and spiritual blindness; all matter is now corrupt and evil. However, when this lesser deity created man, he accidentally imbued humanity with a spark of the “true” God’s spirit, making man an inherently good soul trapped in the confines of an evil, material body.
Contrary to a message of salvation through Christ alone (Acts 4:12), the Gnostic Jesus brings a message of self-redemption. Man only needs to examine his inner “spark” to find the knowledge needed to free himself from his material body and reach God. This alleged purity of heart is the exact opposite of what is stated in Jeremiah 17:9: “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?”
Today, Gnosticism has evolved and branched out from the exclusively spiritual into the secular and scientific. Psychologist C. G. Jung praised Gnosticism as superior to traditional Christianity as a way of thinking. Another form of Gnosticism denies the existence of God altogether, while embracing an eternal-but still flawed-universe. This atheistic form of Gnosticism doesn’t see the material world as totally evil, but as flawed and incomplete. Mankind becomes the “deity,” and it is his right to improve the human body and the world around him through his own wisdom.
Christianity and Gnosticism are mutually exclusive; however, it is easy for a Gnostic mindset to seep into our own thinking if we’re not careful (1 Peter 5:8). The Gnostic is pursuing goodness, but, instead of seeking to be regenerated by Christ, he grabs hold of a man-centered purpose for living. Gnostic thought makes man “wise in [his] own eyes” (Isaiah 5:21), something Proverbs 3:7 pointedly advises against: “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.”
Gnostic thinking claims that deeper truth can be found apart from God. But Proverbs 1:7 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Instead of searching our corrupt, flawed “inner selves” for answers, we should instead test everything against the revealed Word of God (1 Thessalonians 5:21). In the end, it is God’s truth alone that can be trusted.

First of all, I want to clarify that I am a Christian. I have also studied theater and storytelling. I mention this so you don't misunderstand my perspective or think I’m opposing your core beliefs. However, the concept of a "perfect world" or "evil creator" cannot solely be interpreted as an allegory for God and the world. More often, it’s interpreted-note the keyword here-as a critique of conformity to societal norms.
You should also understand that many artists feel like they don’t belong, so their work often reflects a rebellion not necessarily against God or a divine creator, but rather against any form of authority in the "normal" world-parents, institutions, politicians, etc. It’s more about challenging those earthly authorities than promoting an anti-God agenda.
That said, we must remember that sin permeates every facet of human life. Most of the time, the creators of these stories are not Satanists; rather, their work reflects the unfortunate, sinful tendencies of humanity that manifest in their art. Additionally, be cautious with interpreting symbolism. Symbolism can be applied to almost anything, but the context is crucial in determining the creators’ actual intentions. Without proper context, you might reach correct conclusions but through faulty arguments.
For example, when analyzing The Truman Show, the protagonist’s bow at the end was simply an actor’s bow at the conclusion of a performance. It wasn’t meant to mimic a Christ-like pose. So, while you’re correct that much of worldly entertainment reflects worldly values (which is no surprise), and that it is often unsuitable for Christians-especially Christian children-you should still approach these critiques with nuance.
Finally, I encourage you to be more careful in your interpretation of scripture. Context is essential to understanding its message accurately. By paying closer attention to context, you can sharpen your discernment and make stronger arguments grounded in scripture.

I agree with certain aspects of your response, but Hollywood and Disney is filled with pedophiles and a lot of the movies they create involve inappropriate scenes, especially Hollywood. Their music industry is almost only hypersexual and definitely shaped they behavior of the youth. And i havent even mentioned the p-industry that a lot of underage children are exposed to and can’t seem to let go of due to the addictions created by it. So adding all of these things to the movies she just showed us, tells us that there is definitely a desperate attempt to lead people away from God and towards Satan.
It’s not a coincidence that the West is successfully turning back into Sodom and Ghomora.

    • @seanmccormick4137
      @seanmccormick4137 15 днів тому +88

Yeah I think you’re spot on with this. The rulers in these movies are almost always intended to be seen as imperfectly human forces in society, not divine ones. In addition, Jesus Himself called the devil the “ruler of this world,” noting the tyranny and oppression that satan perpetuates in our fallen world through his deceit and temptation. Characters like Turbo from Wreck It Ralph, most clearly align with the devil rather than God.
I believe these stories teach valuable lessons about not submitting to the oppressive forces in our world that would like us to conform to the sinfulness of modern culture. They promote striving for a better and new world, I.e. Heaven.

@@seanmccormick4137 You are absolutely right on this point. Each family needs to make a conscious decision and commit to being mindful of the entertainment they consume. If they choose to engage with content created by worldly individuals, the best approach would be to extract the most beneficial message from it.
I’m not advocating for exclusively consuming worldly entertainment because, ultimately, it is worldly and will not provide the spiritual nourishment we truly need. However, if one decides to watch a movie or engage with other forms of entertainment, it’s important to select the best option available and, afterward, focus on identifying and reflecting on the most positive and meaningful message within that piece of entertainment.

You are very off-base with some of your takes.
Wreck-it Ralph: Ralph is TREATED as an archetype of evil, but he aspires for GOOD. He doesn't fully understand what that means and tries to accomplish it on his own terms (pre-salvation works?) by obtaining a trinket (worldly recognition?). But his true conversion comes from an inward change (justification?) and completes his journey with an act of self-sacrifice (the greatest love?), which Satan is not capable of. He is then accepted by the "good" people once he has undergone this change (regeneration?). And King Candy is anything but analogous to God. He is a direct symbol of Satan who entered the game from outside (the serpent and the garden?) and took on a pleasant disguise to assume control. At its heart, this story is a fairly straightforward analogy for the Christian life, not a promotion of evil.
Truman Show: Christoff is a false god (Satan?). He has trapped Truman in a seemingly real world that leads nowhere and has no real consequence (Secularism?). He has been given a fear of water to prevent him from realizing the means of escape (baptism?). Truman sees inconsistencies and eventually rebels, seeking to find the REAL world beyond the one he has always known - the one that matters (eternal life with God?). And in the end, he escapes through the ocean amidst a storm (water and the spirit?) before leaving Christoff behind, empty handed. He steps into darkness (death?) to be reborn beyond (resurrection with Christ?) into a new life.
I'm sure there is some truth to what you propose for some movies and some directors and writers, but the fact that you ignore the obvious good in order to squeeze bad from the rock tells me that you have allowed yourself to be blinded by fundamentalist presupposition. I recommend you honestly re-evaluate some of these examples since we should celebrate good messages when they are proclaimed and support the people responsible. If we truly want to retake the culture, we can't let the good become the enemy of the perfect.
P.S. Lego Movie is pure evil, so no argument there... LOL :)

THANK YOU, although your name distraction beast is not helpful in the context. BUT Thank you for already breaking down Wreck-it Ralph for Taylor and anyone else that reads your comment. Taylor, please read above and then re-watch Wreck-it Ralph. Also like to add that Penelope was only glitching because Turbo entered into Penelope's game and took it over, so yes King Candy was a bad guy. Oh, Wreck-it Ralph didn't mean to mess up their party or that cake.... oh and if Wreck-it Ralph is Satan why did he meet Satan? Oh and why is him giving away food to the homeless characters a bad thing - because it was red... I guess... Also what does Ralph and Wolf have to do with anything? Why didn't you search the characters names... like Felix or Penelope...
Also, just for fun sake lets just forget Turbo was around and keep it to your retelling of the story. King Candy was not the Good Guy or Father of Fix Felix... so you took quite a stretch in trying to say King Candy was the God in this game being portrayed as a bad guy.
I get it, you want to make content and this seemed like a cut and dry case but did you even watch Wreck-it Ralph for this... Wreck-it Ralph is one Disney made that I felt was pro Christianity. We are all born with Sin, we seek to be good... we want to be good... That is all Ralph was trying to do.

Why is the Lego Movie bad? From what I've seen, Lord Business is representing more of an oppresive system and leader, not divine authority. And the message isn't 'rules are bad' but 'rules should serve people, not stifle them'. This idea aligns with how the Bible's rules function-they guide people away from sin, not to restrict joy, but to protect and nurture their relationship with God and others. In contrast, Lord Business's rules are rooted in control and selfishness, enforcing conformity for his own benefit, rather than helping others flourish

  • @lukesbacon

WHAT NONSENSE! These films could all be interpreted completely differently. The fundamental flaw in your interpretation is that you've failed to see the moral errors in the 'God' figures you've pointed out in all of these films. Nowhere do any of them claim that the ruler of their world is perfect, they are all man-made kingdoms that have flaws, and each of the rulers demonstrate their imperfection.
Wreck it Ralph - People see Ralph as evil, he's not recognised as a peer, and Felix himself (your Christ character) rejects Ralph as he fears the social repercussions of hanging out such with an outcast. Ralph thinks 'there must be more to life than being a villain' and tries to change how people see him by his own efforts, and he seeks out do do something good People have stereotyped him because of his role in their game world (it's like treating an actor poorly because they played a villain, when the cameras aren't rolling the people who play the evil parts aren't actually evil). What's more, God uses broken people like us to do great things, in this case he used Ralph and a glitchy child to return a world to the way it was designed to be.
Your parallels to a 'Sophia' character are truly confusing, especially when it comes to the Truman show which I would interpret the polar opposite way. Truman is trapped in a world without truth or meaning, he goes about his life noticing inconsistencies in the world that's been presented to him. He pulls the thread to see that the whole world he's living in is a lie. He has been deceived by everyone he ever knew or trusted but is helped by your 'Sophia', who actually acts more like Jesus by diving into his life of confusion and opens his eyes to the lies that are all around him, she gives him that desire to keep looking and searching for the TRUTH. She saw the cruelty of Truman's captivity and like Jesus, she came to reveal the truth to Truman. Truman was even Baptised in water on his way into new life, leaving the lie he'd lived in well behind, and there was no turning back.
And the LEGO MOVIE!? You've got to be kidding me! It's about a Child fighting his own impression of his Father who has corrupted the purpose of creation (LEGO). The father in the story has disallowed his children from playing with his Lego, if he's to be equated with God, that's a pretty flawed and selfish God! Jesus calls Satan 'the ruler of this world' in John 16:11. So you have an evil overlord of the world, who rules by fear of the Kragle who's order is uprooted by Emmet, a sinless Master Builder who is forseen in prophecy who together through the power of friendship beat Lord Business, and free the land of tyranny of this evil overlord.
You could just as easily put all of the 'bad guys' in these movies as the Pharisees who Jesus (or should I say your biblical Sophia character) came to disrupt. The Good news of Jesus changes the way we perceive the world. He calls us to look after the outsiders (Wreck it Ralph), to forgo legalism (Lego Movie) and and to pronounce and to seek truth (Truman). And at the end of the Lego movie, we also see how to treat our brothers and sisters in Christ when we disagree or fall out.
Aladdin fo sho is a rogue, but tying any of these stories to the biblical story is unwise at best as the parallels are fleeting and don't hold up when you look at the story as a whole.
Also, you seem to be hung up on your idea of perfection being this very legalistic Pharisaical, controlled and micromanaged order that doesn't actually care for the sick or outcast, but discards them. Uglyville is a perfect representation of your misunderstanding, and the Uglies are the exact people who Jesus came for, 'it's not the well who need a doctor, but the sick' Mark 2:17. Though the Uglies aren't visually perfect their harmless world of good natured fun where it doesn't matter what you look like is a far better environment to live in than a world where everyone is clambering over one another to look the most perfect. Uglyville by what I've seen from this video is actually not about a making a heaven place look gross, or a hell place look appetising, but focusing on loving one another dispite our differences and embracing. And I imagine the kind of messy grace is much more heavenly than the perfection institute. The key in that film is that people's sights are set on the wrong things, the real treasure in these movies is often friendship, teamwork, overthrowing greedy tyrants etc.
Would love to hear your thoughts.

What deception was found in the 🐍 mouth of the Devil when he questioned Eve, show your work? Man is created in God's image why did things go so wrong right from the beginning for Yahweh and his creation that he became angry seeking to destroy it all and after the flood it continued to go awry to the point Yahweh became a genocidal, homicidal, infanticidal angry and jealous God of Armies ordering complete annihilation, ethnic cleansing, and land theft of the surrounding tribes the Hebrews encountered while wandering the desert after Exodus from Egypt, are you serious when you equate his behaviors with love, specially the animals and human blood libel ritual sacrifices and burnt offerings, sounds evil to me. I feel like the Truman Show is misrepresented here. Christoff wasn't God, he was clearly a man trying to play God. And his attempt to create a paradise paled in comparison to the beauty and complexity of the world God created. What's more, is that Christoff thinks he's motivated by love, but he's not. If he loved Truman he would let him have his agency, which is what God gave us. The reality is, Christoff was motivated by money and views. The movie is actually a biting commentary of human greed and idolatry, showing us the dystopian horror of what television and entertainment could become. It was eerily prophetic as reality TV burst into popularity in the 00s and has ruined thousands of peoples' lives and wasted millions of peoples' time.

Parables don’t have to map one to one on to the topic they address. Also, under the specific strain of gnosticism she is discussing without naming (Manichaeism), the Demiurge (Yahweh) is a subsidiary, weak manifestation of the real God, so “The Truman Show” can be read as a Gnostic parable.

With all due respect, I think you’re reiterating the message that the video was trying to convey. Of course Christof wasn’t an accurate representation of God. The theoretically gnostic creators of “The Truman Show” movie wanted the viewers to believe that Christof’s character was similar to God, but that he also came along with all the selfish, creepy, abusive, and secretive baggage that you just pointed out. Giving Christof these attributes would paint God as the same.
The “beauty and complexity of the world God created” within the movie is the theoretical movie makers trying to get you to believe that beyond the borders of God’s laws is something greater and freer. Within the movie itself , Christof IS the bad guy. These theoretical movie makers just want you to think that Christof is also comparable to God, which he really isn’t.

Answer: no. No they do not. This vid is such a stretch. Just because a movie is similar to something doesn't mean anything.
A perfect world that is a lie with an evil creator is a common TV trope.
Now is it possible it was based off Gnosticism?
Maybe but most likely not since Gnosticism isn't a very popular religion. And some of these movies aren't that famous, like ugly dolls. If Satan was behind this, wouldn't Satan know which movies would be a hit if he made them with this premise and which wouldn't? And, how is it trying to convince people if all people expect is a funny and silly movie and they won't pay attention that much since it isn't trying to directly shove Gnosticism in your face and it's barely there.

Might get some negative feedback but I am probably the only one here not seeing an inherent anti-Christian push of gnosticism on these specific examples. I see the association of an "evil" creator that made a "prefect" world, but the fact that in most cases the "creator" is just another human limits that association for me. There are other films and shows that push real gnosticism by showing an divine race of angels/gods that turn out to be heavily flawed/petty/evil, this is actually something that caused me to severely limit my anime intake- a lot of anime features some sort of divine species in charge that eventually reveal themselves as inferior/flawed/evil and the protagonist ends up overthrowing them. If anything the films featured here just reinforce the folly of humanity, not God, as humans create a tainted version of paradise whereas God created the real thing.
So yeah, apologies if this upsets some people or makes them believe I've been ensnared by the enemy, but probably the first video where my stance doesn't align with Taylor's.

I think sometimes films and TV shows can act as mass peer pressure. I think one reason why a lot of people feel discontent being single is because of characters on popular TV shows and in films that are single are portrayed as these sad characters that are to be pitied and "fixed" by their friends in relationships. I don't think the creators intend to do this most times in the example I just gave, but I think when you consume a lot of media that sends that subliminal message that singleness is bad, it can cause you to view yourself in a bad light if you're single.

Unlike Ralph, Satan doesn't seek redemption. Also, I think it's a bit much to say "Snake and these other demon-looking characters" at 5:12 when it's just Q*Bert, Coily, Ugg, WrongWay, and Slick... characters that have been in gaming since the early 80's.

If you sympathize with villains too much at one point it becomes a norm and since people do like to pick sides well shit happens. Want a current example of the same approach used in media for a current belief? Do you believe gay people are born gay? Yes or no? Look at the media from early 2000s. They were slowly pushing that idea and it worked. Now most people believe people are born gay even though its not the case.

So any leader trying to control his subjects is a reference to god? Have you thought it could be a reference to dictators and absolute unfair rulers that seek to keep everyone controlled and oblivious? The Sophia character is used probably because she works as a love interest, guide, and motivator in many instances. The underlying theme with so many of these “perfect worlds” is that they are not actually perfect unlike how Eden was, so this comparison is not entirely true. A lot of these rebellious themes are probably put in to appeal to children and their proclivity to want to do their own thing. The whole conformity to a perfect world could also work as a reference to communisms nature on how it makes everyone conform to one ideology that promotes perfect coexistence, submission

Your description of Gnosticism is incorrect. Gnosticism has many branches, similar to the way that Protestantism does, but the general idea is that the Supreme God is unknowable and incomprehensible, as well as perfect. Our material world, according to Gnosticism, could not have come directly from this perfect being, but was created by a subordinate "demiurge," who had a nightmare that created the material world. Gnosticism views all material substance, particularly that which is associated with procreation, as sinful. Procreation is the method in which the divine spark in humanity is imprisoned in this sinful material world. Many Gnostic groups were opposed to procreation or sexual intercourse because of the connection with the material world.

    • @51gn4l50ul
      @51gn4l50ul 13 днів тому +9

An important distinction among many others indeed. For example, the canonical gospels were written before 100 CE while all the other heretical ones came at around 200 CE. Which is why things like the Gospel of Judas aren't taken as canonical. Nor is the Gospel of Mary. And etc.
As you stated, Gnosticism focuses on the impurity of the material realm and the need for man to ascend beyond it's impurity. It explains that impurity by the fact that only an imperfect god could have made such a world. A Demiurge. Christianity focuses on the need to purify the material realm. Because in case most people forgot, the kingdom of heaven is meant to descend on earth. And Jesus is meant to be a gateway to ridding yourself of sin. Another important difference is that, while Gnostics explain the impurity of the world through the creator being impure, Christians of the non-heretical branches explain it with Sin being the cause of the world itself and its free will, not its creator. While a Gnostic might propose that sin exists in the first place because of the Demiurge, the Christian will state that it exits because of free will and pride and nothing else.
(And if the Demiurge was created and sin, it would imply that the True god which made the Demiurge, by Gnostic logic, is also impure because what he made was impure. And it goes on and on. If you state the Demiurge was not created and there are two Gods, then there are no God, only gods. And it becomes Heresy because you no longer believe in one God that is omnipotent and perfect.)
Effectively, there are two explanations and none that can be proven through normal means. But if you wish to call yourself a Christian, you cannot be a Gnostic. And if you are a Gnostic, you cannot call Jesus your lord and savior without insulting what he stood for and what you believe in.
What really makes Gnosticism different from Christianity is the fact that one believes in Jesus and trusts him when he says he is God in the from of man. The other may choose to trust in Jesus, but it will be forced to deny his claims of being the God of the old Testament.

    • @Pooua

@@51gn4l50ul Gnosticism defines sin as a physical substance. The Bible defines sin as an action, the transgression of God's Law. In Gnosticism, you are a sinner because you consist of material substance. In Christianity, you are a sinner because you have violated God's Law. Gnosticism cannot conceive of a perfect Redeemer, Jesus Christ, having a physical body. Different branches of Gnosticism have different ways of resolving this problem. In some, Jesus was the physical man, Christ was his non-physical spirit. In others, the physical body of Jesus was just an illusion.

@@51gn4l50ul I don't think the Gnostics called Jesus a liar. However, they also believed that they saved themselves. @@Pooua Sorry, my reply is gonna be very long. I hope that doesn't bother...
I understand what you mean. But you can't call a man your teacher yet ignore the pillars of his teachings, which are all very clear on the fact that men cannot save themselves, that Jesus is the god of the old Testament and that salvation is meant to redeem the material world, not allow one to leave it behind.
They aren't calling Jesus a liar. But they are basically saying that Jesus is a liar because they are right and he is wrong. It's simply cause and effect.
The Gnostics may think that the views they have align with the ones of Jesus, which would explain why the common Gnostic might call himself a christian or might believe that Jesus had existed. But they do not. Jesus said "I am the way.", He explained that he is the only path for men to the Father. And as you pointed out, Gnostics say "I can save myself."
Other Gnostics may simply have been Christians who were convinced of Gnosticism because it gave an answer to a question they did not realize Christianity already had. My point is, you can't be a Gnostic and not also say that Jesus was lying. Because if you say Jesus was right, then that invalidates the whole religion.
I want to specify that I wasn't trying to attack either groups. I just wanted to explain why Gnosticism and Christianity are mutually exclusive. Even if the people that practice the latter may call themselves Christians and have a lot of respect for Christianity.

Turbo starts off as the favorite game character of the arcade.
Then a new arcade game came in and Turbo was JEALOUS and so he went and ruined it.
Both he and the arcade were punished, however Turbo shapeshifted into King Candy to escape punishment.
Turbo changes the code of the Vanellope and took her place as ruler of Sugar Rush Kingdom.
      Parable change time.
Lucifer starts off as the favorite angel of God.
Then Adam gets created and Lucifer was jealous at how Adam became the favorite, and so he ruined Adam and both he and Adam were punished.
Lucifer escaped punishment by shape shifting into an animal and escaped.
Lucifer then changes the Dna of Mankind and soon becomes the shadow ruler of the Earth.
      Do you understand?
      5. Sugar Rush Kingdom being destroyed is the Earth being destroyed, whilst the people leaving are Christians leaving with Felix(Jesus). Vanellope represents sinners and sinners aren't the ones following Jesus to safety.
So Felix staying at the gate with everyone else, is really Jesus leaving with everyone else to safety; which in the movie going through the gate is the safety.
Also Satan wants to rule people on the Earth, so Ralph saving Sugar Rush Kingdom to save Vanellope is like Satan wanting to stop judgement day to save the sinners.

      3) Yes he was jealous of Felix because Felix constantly gets all the reward, praise and friendship just by doing what he was designed to do, yet Ralph gets nothing but disdain and loneliness doing what he was designed to do. Doesn't seem fair does it?
      4) Turbo was the ACTUAL villain of the story as his jealousy drove him to actual harm and malice. Ralph just made a bumbling mistake which eventually resulted in far more good for everyone involved.

Ms Alesia, I’m a Christian, and I don’t mean to insult you over your ideas based off these movies, but I believe you should consider more the lore of some of them.
The LEGO Movie: President Business wanted to freeze the entire universe.
Wreck it Ralph: King Candy can’t be compared to God, because he was the most Satanic one of the movie. He is actually named Turbo from another game, getting it unplugged for invading other games in the arcade he was jealous of. He also wiped all the memories of the people in Sugar Rush to think Penelope was “Satan”, when she was infant the original ruler of that games land. As for Ralph, he stayed as a villain FOR HIS GAME, but when the arcade closed he was good to everyone else because he wanted to. Not to turn them to evil but to show that he had the ability to show kindness and wasn’t truly a villain. Though I do agree with you that including Satan was too far.
Free Guy: The creator of Guy’s game, Free City was gonna shut down all servers, killing him and all the other npcs. The “God” of that world also encouraged the lawlessness because his game was a GTA clone. The npcs, or should we say people, inside the game weren’t even made by Free City’s creator, but rather their code was copied by someone else. Sophia in the move was trying to save HER creation from being killed, for she created his code.
The Truman Show: They’ve literally held a man hostage since birth, and the creator of the show was calling himself God.
Another thing, perhaps the inspiration for some plots wasn’t from the idea that God could be bad, but maybe they’re based off other evil rulers in history or maybe even present day. The way I personally see it, the plot of the LEGO Movie could’ve been inspired by North Korea and that country’s lack of freedoms because of the Kim dynasty.
Again, not trying to say you’re wrong, and I certainly hope you don’t view me of someone who would feel sympathy for Satan; I just want you to consider the idea these films didn’t have any anti-god message as their moral.

I was following with Wreck it Ralph until I remembered that it shows King Candy taking over the game and turning Penelope into the glitch while erasing everyones memories. So I would like to argue that King Candy represents the sin that can be let into our lives turning us away from the way God intended us to live.

    • @kittenisageek
      @kittenisageek 15 днів тому

I disagree. Certainly you are correct that King Candy isn't the creator of the game, but he did re-create the game to put himself as the ultimate power. Thus for the purposes of the story and how the concepts develop in our mind, he represents the position of god. In the end, Vanellope comes out triumphant because she embraces her inner flaws and Ralph starts the process by breaking parts of the world. Ralph wants to be good --- but he doesn't want to stop breaking things. Vanellope believes she IS good, if only the powers that be would stop oppressing her. These are both gnostic ideals. The problem in the story is that both Ralph and Vanellope are being held back by their respective worlds and only by embracing their true self will they triumph.

@@kittenisageek could you not argue that the things holding them back are sins. Even in the story of Wreck-It Ralph, it’s not the world that is holding them back. It is the people in their world in the way that they are viewed because of a thing that they cannot change until they embrace their flaws, embrace the parts of them that actually make them different. I would even call them flaws And more things that they just are as humans personality things the role in life that they are putting in so no I grew up with that movie and I never once took theological or worldview things from Penelope and King candies relationship to one another. Funny thing I saw somebody take over a created world similarly to how sin runs rampant in our world, and somebody who is affected by sin like every single other person in our world or in Penelope’s case somebody who is affected by King’s wrath, go against that and reclaim the world back for good.

I understand the concern, but honestly, that's not the vibe I got from these movies- especially the Disney princess ones; those seem more focused on themes like love, sacrifice, good vs evil, etc. Even for the other more obvious ones, that's not the themes you'd pick up on, especially as a kid. For instance, The Lego Movie for me was about creativity and determination. Wreck-it-Ralph was about redemption and self-acceptance. So yes, it's something to look out for, but it's not something to be avoided like the plague, because it has a whiff of a Biblical parallel painted in a creative light.

In my opinion, Wreck it Ralph can represent Christianity. He is bad, yes. But Felix still forgives him. Still tries to help him learn how to be better. Felix doesn't shun him, but help him grow; and Ralph wants to be better. He tries to be better. He talks about being better, and not knowing how. But when he is with Felix (which you pointed out was a lot like Jesus) he slowly became better in his ways. By being with the Jesus like character he becomes GOOD. So I think, he could show Christianity.

Like how you missed the details in these movies, most Christians overlook Gods flaws, which there are MANY. Most think he's only guilty of jealousy, as thats what god supposedly said himself. Early Christianity, and Gnosticism borrowed a lot from Greek teaching. Zeus was pretty flawed, with numerous infidelities, and actively wanting to keep the gift of fire from the human race. Prometheus was the actual architect for the human race, and was fond of them. Prometheus stole fire from Mt. Olympus and gave it to the humans, and the gift of fire made many things possible that were simply impossible before. Possessing fire helped the human race rise above the other animals, and allowed metallurgy, etc. Zeus was majorly upset with Prometheus, so chained him to a rock where an eagle pecked out his liver every day (because Prometheus was a God, it grew back). After many years of suffering, Hercules eventually freed Prometheus.

I suppose this idea of Gnosticism is based on prespective.
Speaking as a christian myself, I don't see Ralph as a representation of the Devil, more a representation of us human, because later in the story, He gained a friend and the devil is cunning and plots to sabotage you by giving into sin. Ralph doesn't do this. He's mostly angry but ends up earning a friend, if anything the one that's more representative of the devil is King Candy, cunning, plotting, deceitful, VERY deceitful, lies, manipulates the truth, and ends up becoming infused with a virus monster anlien bug at the end and quote "I am the most powerful virus ever, I can take over any game I want". He was called turbo and after breaking his game and his own due to jealousy, another trait of the devil, he again abandoned his game after it is unplugged, joined another and took over that game full of innocence people, tricking them, became king, under the alias King Candy and put the idea in everyone's head within that game that Vennelope the original Ruler was not only a glitch, but a danger to everyone, and herself and the whole world. I wouldn't paint Ralph as the devil but more a man with flaws and having an Existenial Crisis which is a real phenomenon amongst humanity, and eventually redeems himself on saving the world and excepting who he is, a role as a villain in his game, something the devil cannot do.
But this is my prespective of the character and you have yours and it's a unique prespective.

@@hette457 Yup, unfortunately a lot of Christians don't understand Gnosticism as perhaps being even closer to Jesus' teachings (and Paul's) than what most Christianity is portrayed as. Ultimately, Jesus' teachings were not worldly, they were spiritual. They weren't about having a nice family, being a strong community member, or having a pleasant physical life. They were about overcoming the physical world and the mortal body, which is damnation, and gaining salvation through one's spirit, thereby overcoming the flesh. That's basically Gnosticism.
To realize that we ARE spirit and not flesh is extremely challenging for most people to understand, not to mention it goes against worldly attachments we may have to things like families, communities, identities, businesses, organizations, churches, etc. So it's no wonder world-denying version of spirituality get shut down and dismissed.

Even some of the early movies include witches and sorcery - Wizard of Oz (1939), Mary Poppins (1964), Fantasia (1940) to name a few. Its a sick and perverse industry where child actors are groomed. Not all stories have satanic themes though, but pretty much all the holly wood stories do. The Passion of the Christ was an independent film that Mel Gibson had to fund himself because hollywood studios refused to. Same with Sound of Freedom - Disney didnt want to fund it.. If anything the devil is represented in king candy, he put himself at the top(greedily replaced vanellope) like how the Pharisees rather put themselves above Jesus, Jesus doesn't need to directly be represented by a character but his valued can be, just like that of the devil with king candy, living out his selfishness. Some of these kinda fit what you're saying, but you're stretching a lot, at least for Wreck-it Ralph and the Truman Show.
In the Truman Show, the guy in charge of the show is an actual character trying to play God. This makes him more akin to the devil than Jesus. Truman isn't leaving heaven or a paradise. The movie is clear from the beginning that his life is not paradasiacal, what he's leaving is an elaborate prison constructed by someone imitating God (i.e. Satan).
And for Wreck-it Ralph, Felix reads more like a cross between Bob the Builder and Mario than an intentional analogue for Jesus. Yes, he has a magic hammer that can fix anything, which he inherited from his father. The fact that he can come back to life when he dies has more to do with the fact that he's a video game character. Every character in the whole movie can do that, as long as they're in their own game.
Ralph, the first character we're introduced to, was kicked unceremoniously from his home so some corporation could build a tower there. When he gives the cherry to the other background characters, he's being charitable. It's not a symbol of knowledge, forbidden or otherwise, it's a symbol of charity. Giving a homeless person an apple doesn't make you a stand-in for Satan, no matter what that homeless person looks like.
And portraying Vanellope as a stand-in for Eve is wild for a number of reasons. First, she wasn't innocent prior to getting Ralph's medal, she's making fun of him and clearly doesn't believe that he's telling the truth. Second, she steals the medal from Ralph, he's not tempting her with it. And third, if you're going to say that her glitch represents sin, then you cannot also correlate King Candy with God.
If anyone represents the devil, it would be Turbo, the usurper king, who uses a cheat code to insert himself into the game, disguise himself as King Candy, turn Vanellope into a glitch by removing her from the code, and return Ralph's ill-gotten medal to him. He's the one who lies to Ralph that the destruction of the world of the game will destroy Vanellope, tempting him to become an actual bad guy by destroying Vanellope's only hope of no longer being a glitch. And he's the one who turns into a huge monster at the end, determined to rule the game and even the whole arcade. When he is destroyed, the world of the game is renewed, everyone remembers the truth, and Vanellope is restored to her proper place.
In my view, Ralph and Vanellope both represent common, fallen people. They each desire to be good, but are flawed and incapable of achieving goodness on their own. You interpret the "bad guy affirmation" as saying to embrace sin, but when Ralph repeats it at the end of the movie, he's not using it to say, "Guess I'll just be evil," he's in the middle of doing the most selfless thing he can. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

Ancient animism isn't exactly popular, only remote tribes still practice it, so the primitivist traditions don't generally appeal to many modern people. You definitely see animism in movies involving tribal people, Celtic culture, and some Asian traditions.

"I don't agree with the argument in this video. While it's true that some films and cartoons use religious symbolism or themes, it seems like a stretch to say they’re ‘pushing’ a specific religion. Many of the examples she mentions could easily be interpreted in other ways, and often these themes are just common storytelling devices, not necessarily religious messages. It feels like some of these instances are being taken out of context or overanalyzed. Just because a movie includes a symbol or a theme that could relate to religion doesn’t mean it’s trying to push a religious agenda. Stories often explore universal human experiences that transcend any one belief system."

I would rather say that "these" movies or even most movies push the religion of "there is no God". Fullstop. Some movies are more obvious mocking God, others are very subtle or they spread the believes of those who make the movies that X is okay under certain circumstances or not so bad etc.
Surely these movies don't point to the creator. This is just a spontaneous thought but I think that movies can make impressionable viewers believe in aliens. Fantasy worlds. The Matrix. Secret Societies. Or even in concepts like "violence against bad people is good". Or movies can also scare you, futuristic dystopian movies, social unrest, crises, etc.
I think certain movies can be very effective means for implanting their ideas in the viewer's heads. I am unsure if those movies mentioned in this video deliberately attack God or not. The script writers surely have a basic knowledge about the bible, most people know the basics and they consciously or subconsciously put these ideas into their movies because a movie about any random normal person (Truman, Free Guy, Harry Potter, Frodo) being woken up and being forced to leave his safe space makes for a compelling story that many viewers can relate to.

Sometimes an apple is just an apple. A thief is just a thief, not the incarnation of the devil in a movie or music. Jesus said "the truth will set you free", and when you find the truth, you find knowledge, they both go together and there's nothing evil about knowledge. The world is not 6000 years old as some people calculate from The Bible, a book full of symbols and stories designed to help people understand and face a world full of dangers, unknown and big, and its teachings are an instruction manual to behave in society, instructions needed because we were as kids and we're learning about a whole deal of complex stuff such as morals, ethics, good and evil and God and our relationship with Him.
But make a comparison between the Old Testament and the new and how Jesus Christ changes a lot of things.
Was that bad? No. But the religious authorities of his time saw his actions as bad, an attack to their power and they gave him away to the Romans so they would do the dirty job of killing Jesus of Nazareth for them. Nice, huh? They satanized Jesus, now you do it with a lot of movies, just as Islamics do with everyone and everything western or anything that gives women power and freedom. Don't commit a sin for being too righteous, you're not a judge and a jury.

Thank you. I'm a pastor's kid and try to educate people on these things. I'm so grateful my dad values the work of biblical scholars and theologians, rather than taking anything literally. So much in the Bible is symbolism and metaphor, and the writers were flawed humans and products of their time who wanted to control their societies, particularly women or anyone who didn't fit into their patriarchal mold. Even inspiration from God can get lost in translation. This whole modern "good vs. evil"/"Satanic influence" thing is something I've noticed is primarily a product of the West. This video doesn't even fully grasp what Gnosticism is. It's just straight paranoia involving overanalysis of symbolism and tropes. Most religions center around some type of wisdom, even early Judaism and Christianity had some esoteric elements. In this case however, we're talking about a society that would seem perfect on the outside, at least to everyone indoctrinated by it, and the themes show how people who don't fit into that patriarchal mold get abandoned and left behind, or when they resist, branded as "evil by nature". It's the broken system itself that causes people to steal and create chaos when their needs aren't met. Extremism is a product of lack.
Another reason I can't stand fundie literalists--aside from them ignoring the needs of 'the least of these'--is because of the damage they do and have historically done. There are two types of Christianity, one that is genuine, and one which is a tool of the state. I call the latter Constantine Christians, because they only "believe" for the purposes of saving souls and controlling people based on some fantastical myth they have in their head, and they believe they'll get rewarded in the afterlife. If only they actually read the Bible...

3:27, the resurrection that happened to fix it Felix is not unique to him. Any of the characters in the movie can resurrect from death, so as long as they die in their own game and aren't a glitch like Venelope. Video game characters come back from the dead all the time. For example, in Minecraft, your character is able to respawn after death. That is probably what the movie was going for. Also Wreck it Ralph giving the fruit to the ghosts (not demons) is not meant to be a parallel to Satan tempting Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. It is meant to show a few things. First off Ralph is an inherently good character in the movie by generously giving food to the ghosts without expecting anything in return (he does many more good things). Secondly, Ralph is more than just the "bad guy" he is programmed to be. He has his own character beyond the programming given to him by the game developers. That is also true of every other character in the movie (for example Turbo was programmed to be the hero of his game but chose to be the villain.)

In this instance, its absolutely a reach. Taylor is portraying Candy kingdom and the girls within it as the "good guys," (with ralph and vanellope being portrayed as analogies for satan) however in the film its very clear that King Candy has infiltrated this game unlawfully from another game, and has attempted to kill vanellope in order to take her place. The other girls were the exact same as vanellope originally, except vanellope is now just trying to fit in again after she was almost killed.
I see the similarities, especially with the carpenter, but its easy to find similarities anywhere, the real challenge is finding the differences.
Wreck it ralph (who taylor is again saying is a villian), is not actually a villian in the film, he is just the antagonist of the game, similar to an actor. In both the first and second films, he risks his life trying to save others (which is what jesus did).
I'm a big fan of Taylors content, and she has helped both me and my girlfriend come closer to jesus than ever before, however its clear that this video is a reach, and that her content is not always the most well thought out, which i will not bash on her for as it is not easy to discuss matters of the spirit and the heart using comparisons of the world.
This is also not me saying that she is wrong that Gnostisism is being pushed everywhere in media, that is undeniable.
