- Back with another System Of A Down song. I didn't know which one to do next so I just chose one at random. I hope this is a song that interests a lot of people. System Of A Down's music has really grown on me since we first started reacting to them. Aerials was my favourite so far but who knows if Spider has taken its place.

Serj is an absolute genius! Classically trained opera singer! The guitar player also has an incredible voice. It's highlighted much more on Lonely Day.
He is a good singer, but he is not classically trained. In fact, he has said several times he never studied music.
Love watching your reactions, MollyBoy! I know and have listened to all the bands so far. I’m that 74 year old grandma from California, USA. My sons educated me in all of the grunge and heavy rock/metal music in the 90s. They’re 40 & 44 now and still musicians today, but they make their living with careers that pay the bills.

I've just started watching SOAD Rock in Rio 2015. Absolutely Amazing. I can't believe what i am watching Daron and the bass player are something i have never seen before. Fantastic Concert.

This is my favorite SOAD song. It is so arcane and elemental. The pain and desperation in Serge's voice merged with the power and drive of the music is like some kind of occult poetry. Love it so much and your reaction was very relatable

I haven't heard Spiders in a long time, and hearing it now, it's definitely one of their more "normal" songs. I've been reading Serj's memoir today. I'm only through 3 chapters, but i recommend it for sure.

Oh lord, I’m curious how you’ll like this one since it’s one of their weirdest songs imo. It also sounds grunge which is strange for them. It feels straight out of the alternative radio stations from the 90s and I love it. “Hypnotize” is a recommendation from me, it’s just super pretty.
ETA: DAMN I’m glad you like it, I was nervous after I heard your reaction to BYOB. 😂 Serj’s voice is crazy and haunting in this song and I’m just obsessed with his vocals in every songs. They are weird, that’s why they’re so great. “Sugar” is maybe my favorite song, it’s an insane banger.

Highly recommend that with System, you do go oldest album to newest because it's the smartest way to hear a band's progression through their journey.

The songs are good. The rythm is good, the technique on the instruments are good, the vocals are good. But whats really great wih SOAD that youll realize is when you look at the lyrics, the bars have hidden meanings and messages that blow my mind.

This is my favorite song of SOAD. The riff, the breakdown, the switching of the rhythm,the vocals so amazing. The vocal tone of the song was relevant to the song.

"When I first started listening to them, I thought they were weird" no hate on that one, they're weird as, but in a great way. So glad you did this, it really shows his range, from that super quiet mellow intro to that last throat ripping "befooooooooooooooore", brilliant song all round, probably my favorite.
Also brilliant, and one I guarantee won't get blocked is as always, week 7 of Demolisher by Slaughter to Prevail. A lot of people have reacted to it without issue, probably because UA-cam is flat out afraid of their lead singer, and for good reason. 🤣

I have been watching System of a Down video's tonight and you are the only person that i can ask to play Radio/Video because i know you are in to them and i could only find a few videos of it and i know you would love it. Apologies if it is on your playlist.
"That wasn't long enough... at all." - every fan's ONE criticism of this song. So the song is about a woman whose dreams (both in sleeping and in wakeful subconscious) are almost pre-programmed by the media (social, news, pop-culture) that she consumes daily and the possibility of them being manipulated by the government through conditioned programming. Serj's voice coupled with the poetic storytelling makes this one of my all-time favorites. You should definitely check out "SUGAR" next. It is a full-body head banger!
