Good to hear you are positive about Nightbloom so far. I am not that attracted to The Maiden but not sure why so good to hear your impressions. Thanks for the tip about And Then She Fell. Snapped that up.

Yes I think I need to snap it up as well Ros, it's only £1!! I hope you're having a great People April, which I will try to include as I love those kinds of books 😊

I think you’re making great progress on the fiction prize, especially as you’ve also read several from the non fiction prize. There does seem to be varying opinions on a lot of the books but I like that, I’m a bit wary reading something everybody loved as it inevitably disappoints 😬 looking forward to Giovanni’s room 👏

So true - if everyone loves a book, it puts me off 😂 if some like it I'm intrigued. If no-one likes it, I'm avoiding it!! X

Good progress on the women’s prize. I’ve DNFed another one. 😬 I am quite interested in And Then She Fell, but I need to wait until it arrives at the library. I’m currently reading Hangman. Enjoying your end of the week wrap ups! 😊

I'm always interested in popular science books but often hate the way they are written! Sian

Hi Sarah, The Descendants sounds good and is going on my TBR. I'm currently reading A Sky Painted Gold by Laura Wood, (YA with a Great Gatsby vibe). This is my second book by her, Like the first, A Snowfall of Silver, it will get five stars. Have you ever done a genre tastes video? If not, I'd like to see one, You seem to enjoy harder hitting stories? I'd be interested in hearing why. I like realism too, but there has to be a balance of coziness or hopefulness,

Great 😊 I read under a dancing star by Laura Wood. I don't remember too much about it now, but I gave it 3*.
No, I don't think I have. Do you mean talking about the different genres I like, why, and a few examples?
I guess I do like harder hitting books, but probably not all of the time. I like walking in other people's shoes, and books that make me think. I definitely like a balance though, which is why I also like romance, YA, middle grade, fantasy etc.

@@YourTrueShelf Yes, talk about the genres you like with examples. Also include your interest in various prizes for us who aren't up on them. The fact that you have a balanced reading taste is why I subscribed

I was interested to hear that you didn't enjoy Gut. I read it (rather than listened to it) a few years ago, and I wonder if I would view it as positively now? I think gut research has moved on so much since it was published, but at the time it did pique my interest in the gut microbiome. Also, yes, isn't it great re Spotify books! This was a revelation for me too, but I was gutted when I ran out of hours halfway through a book 😥 xx

Yes I was trying to choose a book that was within my hours!! Not sure when they renew - I listened to a different book in March, so hope mine doesn't cut off!! Xx
