    Love mine, too. Got out to the range to plink with a friend today. Loves his HW 85 that served him well many years. He asked to try my 97KT and couldn't put it down. Afterward he's texting me still at home about looking for a used one. He was that impressed with shooting it.

    Good grouping there. Nice shooting. It’s interesting with springers how the poi changes slightly with a change in hold / grip. Looks like you changed grip just slightly between the two groups. But the groups are very good, you have a quality rifle there.

    Good shooting, lovely stock on that HW!
    Boggy or not, I wish I had access to a range like that. Enjoy!
    There's a relatively easy fix for the spring twang: either order a full tuning kit or have somebody turn a properly fitting delrin spring guide and top hat - makes all the difference in the world and the OEM components (spring, piston seal) really aren't bad at all.

      My first thoughts also.. The anti bear trap on the HW97 isn't like the air arms tx200 and Walther under lever rifle whereby they actually lock the piston and prevent it from taking your thumb off.. In the case of the weihrauch hw97 the anti bear trap only prevents the trigger from being pulled. So if internal wear occurred, the piston wouldn't have anything directly stopping it. I ALWAYS hold onto the lever on mine when I load it. It may well not have failed yet.. But what if it does?...

  • @cheshirebowman4465
    @cheshirebowman4465 Рік тому +1

    It doesn't have a anti bear trap. Just a slider that stops the trigger from being pulled. The sear can still let go.

    I'll tell you something anti bear this anti bear that I was cringing every time you went to prod a pellet into the breech, please keep hold of that lever. Your range is proper tranquil and allso atmospheric. You could put some stone chippings in the troughs to keep your feet dry. Can't go wrong with h+n in any German gun, very good groups I think the tx 200 just pips the 97 two cracking spring guns. Keep up the entertainment THANKS!

      @@blacklabelqlewis sorry to here that, it can be very expensive trying pellets. My hw 100 in 22 loves h+n ftt and allso my 177 bsa ultra loves h+n ftt the ultra is very picky pellet wise

      @@michaelholt9378 Lucky the JSB Hades I bought to test for expansion in my NPXL 1100 shoot like a laser from my 48 so hopefully the two lighter offerings from them will follow suit. I have a 97k on the way so we'll see what it likes to eat. Hopefully something cheap like this stack of Crosman Premiers I've stocked up

    I find these great pellets, hits on a golf ball at 65mtrs from my hw97. Centre hits on targets at 45mtrs.

    I've seen almost all the videos of the hw97 and all the well known Weihrauch models. I'm 100% sure, that all Weihrauch springers, all are perfectly accurate. The only difference, is that some are easier to shoot than others, because of weight or the power of the rifle etc. So, the real problem with Weihrauch, is which one to choose to buy!!!

    Just shows what you can do with a basic scope ! It's hard to tell from the vid, but is this rifle quiet enough to use in an urban yard without upsetting the neighbours? Thank you. ATB MMMD

    • @RuralStuff
      @RuralStuff  3 роки тому +1

      I would say it's quiet enough to not bother any neighbours, sometimes the targets getting hit can be noisier than the gun. Thanks for watching.

    I have a number of weihrauch springers including the hw97k, they all seem to like h&n field trophy pellets.
    You mentioned in the video that you found the receipt for the rifle from 2004,may i ask what you paid for it back then?

    • @RuralStuff
      @RuralStuff  3 роки тому +3

      Thanks, I paid £340 in 2004. I think they're at least £450 to buy now. Weihrauch guns are very well made and accurate.
