I would die to have this James voice back... He did just sound awesome during 2013/2014
He generally always sounds pretty good. It got rough from 2016-2019, but he is back to form on this recent tour.

This is a 100X better representation of this concert than the DVD they put out. Especially the Awake set, everything just sounds fantastic, it's giving me chills. Thank you for this upload, I hope it never gets taken down!!!
+Dennis Atlas You're 100% right! I think the last really great sounding dvd they made was Score. Luna was decent but stil missing something... Let's hope they do a better job on the next one.
Totally agree! The last two DVDs were produced so badly. I could not attend that concert and I regret so much. Mangini's drumming sounded so natural and powerful, I don't know why they can't fix that when they produce a new album or video.
Dennis Atlas Most the video I've found for the images and words 25rh anniversary doesn't have the quality I expect. Go back too the original live I & w shows the quality is qmazing. This sounds much better. Good shit, enjoy it.
It's amazing how wonderful James LaBrie sounds when he isn't doused in bad auto-tune. It destroyed his tone on the DVD and it doesn't make him sound good, but god he sounds SO amazing here!! My two cents...

I've been listening to DT for almost 20 years but for one reason or
another I wasn't able to attend to a live concert in the past.
This years first concert finally in Milan (I'm Italian!) with The Astonishing show and it's really amazing.
However as you know some accuse them of being too concentrate on the technical elements of music that on the emotional elements and I have to say they are horribly wrong!
I don't get people bashing them as much as they do, but I suppose with Facebook or UA-cam in the 70s a lot of rock and hard rock purists would bash successfull prog metal bands of the time in the same way metal purists bash DT now.
According to some Italian Tool's super fans, the best attribute of Tool is to make us understand how thin DT music is!
I find this distasteful first for Tool as their best attribute is not playing a better or worse music compared to DT, second is distasteful for DT as if I can listen to both it means that maybe that normal person with an open mind are not that common! :-D

Music experts are on the stage, since 25 years ago I listened to their albums, images and words, until this moment, I still love DT.
I really like the JP solo during Trial Of Tears when he mixes the usual Gilmour/Santana tones with some Allan Holdsworth vibes..really good !
Can't believe it's been 30 years since I saw pull me under on MTV....the only album I purchased because of them. Corporate leaches that they are.
But I'm sure glad I did!

That sounds amazing band itself and sound recorded!
Labrie sounds better here and he sounded better in April when I saw him in Riverside CA on this tour than he did in the Boston DVD. The auto tune they use ruined his performances there and in Chaos in Motion. If you listen to fan recording from 2008, he sounds great.

Don't get me wrong. I love D.T....and Mike Mancini is an AMAZING drummer. But it's just not the same without Mike Portnoy. I hope one day they reunite.

Love this band. See interviews with them is cool, but.....John Myung is a badass bassist with a personality of a head of lettuce.

I don't know what it was 2 years ago...maybe JL's "In-ears" weren't working properly (or) he had an ear infection (or something), but he was really off!! It almost sounded as if he was "tone deaf" that night! I recently saw the Astonishing at Radio City and it was NOTHING like this!

Great concert, unfortunately LaBrie was far from his best shape and too often out of tune.
