Yes make the episodes longer, however, whoever does your music composing should get a freaking raise, that is some legit sound bits, and it works well with whats going on in the show.
My favorite episode thus far; mainly due to the uniqueness of the body and your choice of power plant. Not to mention it will be a dual purpose rig, street and trail.
When my home remodeling projects is done. Which includes a project barn, so the daily drivers can use the garage. I plan to put one of those R2.8's in my '96 Jeep ZJ project. I also have a '78 Dodge van that was going to get a 4bt motor. But the R2.8 is lighter and quieter.
You are an effin artist mate! This is honestly what I’ve been dreaming about doing to my little 06 ram 1500 regular cab short bed since the R2.8 came out! I will certainly need a fabricators help though 😎
I have a 07 jk unlimited if your ever wanting to make another Cummins transplant! My wife says the budget is low 🙄 her and I have done everything else 👍🏻 love your show man!!
Great show idea, been wondering about fitment, I went with a AMC 401, 700R4, 241C, in my 1949 Willys Wagon, even with a SYE kit makes for a short driveshaft. Your Krazy Krawler, spring over will probably not have any issues with front axel clearancing, on a closer to stock application , might be an issue. I do like this powerplant kit, waitng for the video.
Thanks for another short video. I know it would be a lot of video editing, but it would be great if you could stitch all your short one into a long one with maybe a few extras in between... 😉 Ok, I know I pushing it... ;)
I saw the 7:49 play time and thought it was the pilot, the "what's to come" advert. But it's the entire show. At this point you are just bragging about yourself. I don't care what you own. I care how you made it my man.
37 year career as a heavy duty truck tec Cummins mid range specialist Never did I support an engine by the vibration damper or crank shaft We had a bunch of engine support brackets That I built that supported the engines along the pan rail (channel type iron with the u facing outwards on top of channel with a pocket for a hyd jack and room for jack stands) Would you hold a baby in the air by it head ???
What are your thoughts on the new Mickey Thompson 46” tires the same ones gridlock runs ? I am building a 65 merc truck and so far that is the tire i have to keep my rig street legal
I am surprised I figured as with all these online builds, you would throw some Chevy power plant in and then stroke off in the corner thinking about how cool you were putting a chevy in a jeep
Thank you! I have watched your shows for a long time. You're the reason I took the plunge on full links and coilovers for my 79 Cherokee! @@BigTireGarage
Hey Ian, I know your getting close to looking at wheel and tire packages and I was wondering about bead-locks. Why are most bead-locks illegal for street use? What are some DOT legal options that doesn't include the double bead solution? I want to make a street legal version of a stadium super truck but I don't want to have to remount my tires when I transition from off road too on road.
That Cummins engine is not the best option cost and performance-wise, sure it's brand new and turbo diesel but come on, anybody knows that the best swap for a rig like that one would be a LS engine, the diesel MAY be more fuel efficient, but the LS has inmediate power at the touch of the throttle and it doesn't have to wait for the turbo to spool up, i've seen the Range Rover with that Cummins 2.8 of the Ultimate Adventure series and that rig is a pig, totally underpowered, those diesel engines has a very narrow powerband, the LS pulls from almost idle to redline
A lot of that has to do with the weight and gearing in the vehicle. I have MANY rigs with LS engines under the hood and yes they are great..but this particular engine is perfect for this rig
Come on Ian, make the episodes double the length we want to see more!
They're so shorts its a tease! Haha
Yes make the episodes longer, however, whoever does your music composing should get a freaking raise, that is some legit sound bits, and it works well with whats going on in the show.
Thanks man.....and these are all me front to back top to bottom
The guy is the son of the Pastors he so blessed!

Yes..it is going to be a real mix of hot rod and rock crawler
Looks like Mickey Thompson Baja Boss M/T tires.👍
I'm officially protesting these short videos! You're killing us Ion!
Otherwise, great work.
Chip Foose of off road, awesome build!
That is a serious compliment, I am no where close to the skills and talent that Chip Foose has
Giday from Australia These Cummins are very popular in early toyotas good choice of power .
From one fabricator to another, that's some clean work! And the small beads you rolled in the sheet metal really show that extra effort.
Put a 2.8 in my 93 Ramcharger snow plow and make it into a rock crawling snow plow…a rock-plow!!!
Nice choice in power plants and trans. Can not wait to see it rolling on its own power. As I raise my glass cheers

I've wanted that motor ever since I seen it on DeD
Same!
about $10,000...
WTF To Late! I know it’s expensive that’s why I haven’t got it yet.
Love the Cummins 2.8.....
What does the willys weigh? How does the 2.8 do with that?
You are an effin artist mate! This is honestly what I’ve been dreaming about doing to my little 06 ram 1500 regular cab short bed since the R2.8 came out! I will certainly need a fabricators help though 😎
Always love watching you create. Like any talented person, you make it look easy!
You really do build the best stuff. Love watching your shows.

Willys wagon definitely coming along nicely!
Lots of talent you have !
Can't wait to see this rog done Ian! Its gonna be epic!!
Damn it! Where’s the next episode ☹️
Great vid btw! Been watchin You for years! Your my idol 🤔
Awesome build so far. Especially like the Cummins R2.8 power train! Will the finished build be on display anywhere for in person viewing?
It will be at EJS this year...and then SEMA in the fall
Brilliant stuff Ian 😎
Nice job

And those 2.8L can be tweaked and tuned for even more grunt.
Hey Ian, hi!!!😎
What happen to your last build with the r2.8?
cheers

kick ass man its going to blast !@@!! (I miss Jessie from Extreme 4X4 ) every time I see you build a rig man keep going with the great videos
Sooo what is Ian's boot of choice??
Wagon is sick, but what happened to the MJ ? Was that finished I must have missed it.
What transfer case did you use? I swear I heard you tell us but can’t find that clip.
Atlas II with 3.8 gears

What MPG have you been seeing in your Willy's r2.8 now that it has been on the road for a while?
Average 20-22 mpg...thats with a mix of highway and city...

310 lb-ft torque and 160 horsepower,
What's the advantage over gas, and what does this cost...
The R2.8 as a complete package runs about 7500 bucks. If you compare it to a similarbpowered LS crate engine its about 1500 bucks more

How much does the complete Cummins r2.8 kit cost

The DOT legal beadlocks are few and far between but you can look at Hutchinson or similar wheels that carry a DOT rating

Should put that motor in the bug 🐛 😏
Nope the Bug has a crazy motor all ready for it
Nice vid, nice build, but please loose the musac.

I wonder why I can't buy this engine in Texas....
I have no idea
I could seriously watch you fabricate for hours on end. It’s better than porn.
