Man, you really came through on this one. Appreciate it. Great Rundown!
I’ve been collecting materials for my hinged tower.. so glad I came across this video!!
Nicely done!! 👍👍
Thanks for the comment if I can help let me know.
What a great idea. It should work out great.
That`s some nice little fabricating there Kevin, that should work like a gem for years to come, keep em coming buddy, love watching the videos, Joe from Michigan.
Beautiful job Kevin!!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much my friend.
Your very good working with metal
Nice design. Gave me some good ideas for down here in Punta Gorda.
Thanks for the comment and watching glad to help Dave.
Great video sir. Nicely done. Obviously you have experience working with metal. Generally, only professionals have Hobart welders. Thank you.
I'm not a professional but I do like working with metal.
Thanks for the comment.
Just like downtown. Now you gotta paint that tower so it looks as good as the hinge plate.
Great job
I enjoyed watching the video. You did a great job. 73 AE4OY William Peacock EM-81UF Blackshear, GA
Thank you i glad you enjoyed the video.
i wish i would have seen this before i built my own lol
Maybe next time thanks for the comment and watching.
Great video brother 👍
are you using a flux core welder I now much of a welder .is that heavy enough ,I have a flux core welder also. enjoyed the video very much. I think I will try to build the same one Thanks very much
Yes i am using flux core welder and it works great, good luck on you project.
What type of pad would you need to pour to install this. If someone could point me towards a resource. I've looked on Rohn's site and there is pad specs for burying tower sections, but I can't seem to find anything for tilt bases. Thanks. Loved the video!
Sorry I really don't know. People give me a ruff time on my install.
But it still there lol.
bonjour , soper travaille avec un mat pivotant bien plus simple pour monter les antennes cdl louis
I really enjoyed this video and the one showing you putting it to use. I have one question. Why don’t you put the base section all the way to the bottom of the pins and let the plate take the load instead of the bolts? Maybe you explained it and I just didn’t catch it. Great design and fabrication.
I am glad you enjoyed the video, i am using the bolts to level the tower, thanks for watching.
@@Robinson-HomesteadI mean the bolts that secure the bottom section of the tower to the pins that you welded to the base plate. Why not have the base section sit all the way down on the plate? Around the 32:00 mark.
I couldn't get it down any further because of the hinge itsself but that probally would have been a better way to build it, thanks for watching.
I am putting up a 40ft on a tilt plate as well. What winch (and weight) do you use to get it up and down? Thanks and great job !
I just use 240 lbs of pure muscle lol(no winch).
How much twisting does it have when lifting?
Not sure still working.
Hello, do you by chance have any of this tilt base plates for sale? I really like your design.
I'm sorry I don't have any for sale.
Maybe drill and tap that pipe for a grease fitting?
Thanks for the comment.
How meny meter are the tower in the air
20 foot 2 10ft towers
@@Robinson-Homestead okay i look for a 3m one
How much did this cost in materials? And how tall is your tower?
I had most the metal on hand maybe $20.00 in the rest.
My tower is about 20 foot tall.
I would like to buy one for a Rohn 25G. How much are you selling them for?
I'm sorry I don't sale them.
👍👍
Nice job
Thanks Ronny
Very nice build, BUT, (well you know there is always that one comment, lol) the ONLY thing I would have done differently was use ACTUAL Hardened "L" anchors meant for anchoring towers instead of using weaker standard "threaded rod" which is NOT meant to be bent at any angle without compromising strength as they can easily break at the bend and or pull out of concrete if any excessive force is put on the tower latterly, I have seen home made anchors and or studs like these pulled out of concrete in the past.
Otherwise very nice construction! Thanks for posting, Tom in NV
Thanks for the comment my friend.
Be careful with that hardware store threaded rod. That stuff is typically does not carry a strength rating or grade because it is dead soft .
Thanks for the info
I have two antenna towers one of them is a Telescoping antenna and with a lay down base and is made out of steel tubing like the one you are working on and the other one is made of aluminum with a lay down base the first one is about 60' to 70' tall when raised up and the other one is a one piece mast and I believe it is about the same height maybe a little bit shorter and one rotating head so you can adjust the antenna for the best reception I'm wanting to sale one of them what do you think is a fair price to ask for one. And the are located in southern Nevada
How much?
That's a good question I'm not sure.
Is this for a ham?
Thanks for watching
Hinge not swivel...at least in my world.
Thank you for the comment.
