The 918cc Morris engine side-valve flathead was fitted to the Minor Series MM both the ones with the low headlights and the ones with the headlights in the wings.
In 1952 the Morris Minor Series II was produced and that used the 803cc Austin OHV A series engine.
This does have a 918cc Flathead side-valve engine and has the headlights in the wings.
So this is a a very late Minor Series MM or perhaps one from 1951/52 which had been sitting somewhere unregistered for a year or two. The GPN registration pins it down as a East Brighton registered car, I wonder whether it came from Caffyns who were a very big Morris and then BMC main dealer in Sussex & Kent at the time.

Where does it get the word split screen

The word split screen comes from the front windscreen which on this is split in the middle hence it’s name.
