People hate it because they fcked up the adaptation heavily. They crammed a 100 chapters from the source material into one season. For comparison solo leveling did 45 chapters in its first season. They didn't even try to adapt the story for god of highschool.

There is wwwwaaaayy more to God of Highschool and it's really good the anime just had horrendous pacing they put 2 seasons worth of content in one season. The powers are better explained in the webtoon also the characters are just genuinely well fleshed out and amazing

The only reason why it's bad is because how they compressed a hundred chapters into 13 episodes, also, the real plot starts after the GOH arc
