RIP Dean. I saw an interview many years ago on I believe Johnny Carson with Paul Newman about the making of Cool Hand Luke. They were talking about how the film makers couldn't decide on what song to use in it and I guess you were in that meeting. You got up excused yourself and came back with your guitar and played & sang Just a closer walk with thee. They were blown away and said it was perfect and asked if you could do it just like that in the film. FLY NAVY!!!
I would’ve loved to have met him & heard him sing in person! I really do love seeing his movies in which he sings! Just watched a few clips of Cool Hand Luke. I loved Lucky & hope to see all of Paris, Texas. I thought he always looked much younger than he was. 😘♥️
Ry Cooder learned guitar by 6 years old. He could play slide better than anyone by 13. He went to Hollywood at 17 and the rest is history! I love Ry and Harry and all those guys. Now hit it!
