I tried the Phisicians Formula, Murumuru Butter Believe It! Foundation + Concealer upon your recommendation and I am in love!. The trick is to let it set down and only use powder where you absolutely need it and it looks incredibly flawless. I'm so impressed! I'm currently saving up for Cle de Peau. It looks like everything I could ever want in a foundation. Thank you for so mant amazing recommendations! This video is so helpful.
Hi Gemma my absolute favourite is the lancome teint idole - great shade match in 008/091, doesn't need powdered, buildable coverage, lasts all day and minimal transfer on a mask. I have very dry skin with rosacea and eczema - this is fragrance free and although it does contain alcohol it has all the layers of skincare, spf and often primer underneath, so the alcohol doesn't bother my skin. If I want something more sheer and more moisturising the Mac F&B in C1 is my other favourite, but for different reasons/occasions. It is really moisturising for the colder months and looks really nice on the skin for sheer to light/medium coverage. it isn't as perfecting as the lancome and it isn't as long wear on me, but I do really like it despite not being at all budgeproof - transfers onto a mask quite a bit. it is very skin like and I can wear minimal makeup with it - more of a thicker tinted moisturiser tbh for me. I like some coverage of redness (due to the rosacea) and this gives just enough coverage for a fairly natural look without being too sheer. Most tinted moisturisers etc don't really work for me now, as I want that bit of coverage. Prior to developing rosacea I used to use very sheer coverage products, but my needs have changed as I have become older/redder. Best wishes.
Estée Lauder double wear is my OG ride or die, but I also really love shiseido radiant lifting & Lancôme stick foundation or NARS sheer glow. My skin is dry and sensitive.
My favourite is Nude by Nature mineral powder. It has a sheer finish but I like light coverage so it suits me. It looks very natural with a lovely, subtle glow. I like to layer it over a heavy duty moisturiser as I have dry skin.
Took advantage of Chantecaille holiday sale and finally plunked down for Future Skin. I am SOOO excited to up my foundation game. Thanks for this video, I love your reviews and recommendations.
I really like these videos that are simply "the best products and why". . Prefer this format over the "high end vs drugstore" as it truly narrows down the best products & leaves the price range to a person's own discretion. Awesome job
I have the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better foundation on today! Fancy that!!! I hadn't worn it for a few months and decided to give it a try again. It didn't disappoint. My favorites of the ones you mentioned are the It Cosmetics foundation, Chantecaille Future Skin Gel Foundation, Dior Backstage Face & Body and the Cle de Peau Radiant Finish Matte. I do have a re-order of the Dior Backstage coming (Sephora is really running behind). Of those foundations, just like you and your Mum, I LOVE the Cle de Peau the best! There's nothing like it!!! I recently bought another bottle when Nordstrom had a discount going on makeup.
Bare minerals CC is my go back to every time I get super dry. My my favorite is Lancôme ugh I can’t remember but I think regeniris not sure on the spelling. When foundations become to dark or light depending on my self tanning then I still use them but as my contour and highlight. This helps me to know that I am using something that is going to work without the guessing. Great video as always. I’m in Alaska and I’m on tretinoin so the dry skin is ugh right now
Oh my goodness! My Sahara Desert dry skin would not reflect well under any foundation! Thank you for doing this! I know it wasn't your favorite, but the LE is my favorite foundation by far!
That is interesting I have really dry skin around my mouth and would think it would accentuate my wrinkles and dryness. I am 48 with very sun damaged wrinkled skin and struggle to find a foundation that is moisturizing enough but also doesn't highlight my pores and wrinkles. I have been searching for years!
Yes! Both you and Stephanie convinced me to get the Dior. So far I’ve been to 2 Sephoras that haven’t carried it. Grrr Trying the Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop right now..it’s super duper light weight.. as in - I used a LOT to get minimal coverage. Fingers crossed that it looks good for at least 4 hours!
I have the same view of the Lisa Eldridge one. I went to the pop up in Covent Garden and it was a lovely experience. The MUA’s spend a lot of time with you to get the right shade. When first applied its fabulous, not sinking in pores or lines and its like the best skin ever. But on me 3 hours or so and yes it becomes very shiny. Ive used it for a week with different moisturisers, primers. The best results so far is using Wetnwild impossible primer and Benefit porefessional setting spray. It looked good for most of the day. I recently got Dior natural nude and i prefer that one. I have normal skin for reference.
Thank you for this fantastic video! I love all of your choices which look so beautiful on you and which I cannot wait to try! My favorite right now is the Dior Backstage - absolute magic! I also love the Dior Airflash and Givenchy Prism Libre Skin-Caring Glow foundations! ❤️
Hi Gemma, thank you for this video and all of your content. I used to like the Sisley phyto foundation, which I found very skin-like. And also the Bourjois Healthy Mix is a good one in my opinion. Have a fab day. Loads of love
I noticed you wear shade 120 in the La Mer and I happened to order shade #5 in the Lisa Eldridge foundation…. I feel much better now as I went with shade 2 at first and was able to change it before it processed. I was still unsure but knowing you wear 120 in the soft fluid as it’s my shade as well and you going with 5 makes me feel a little more hopeful ,) not sure if I will be a fan but I’m picky with foundations….
I’m surprised that the Dior Forever Natural Nude doesn’t make it on the list. The review video that you made for it gave the impression that it’s really great and looking very natural.
Wow, Gemma, what a great compilation of skin-like foundations! I love the Dior. My current fav is the BareMinerals BarePro. Doesn’t look Casey on my aging skin. Thank you for all the time & effort put into this and your other videos.
Great video Gemma! How is the fragrance in the Dior? I have been wanting to try it but was concerned with the fragrance. Does it fade after application?
I needed to get in touch! I received my future skin foundation and OMG I love it I wished I didn’t but I wanted to because I’ve forked out but realised as soon as I applied it that there’s no going back! (Insert money gun 😂) So thanks for your reviews on this product it’s stunning ❤️

Gemma, these all look beautiful! I have oily dehydrated skin (which I find is a very unique skin type) and my current ride or dies that are still available that I reviewed are the Milk Makeup Sunshine SPF Tint (the NEWER VERSION) and the Tarte Hydroflex Serum Foundation. When I reviewed the Tarte I was blown away how natural it looks and the Milk provides surprisingly good coverage and is great when I'm more dehydrated. Thank you for your comment Chrissy. It means a lot as always. I spent a long time wondering if I should include more drugstore, like you said to make it more balanced, but in the end, I cut out so many excellent high end foundations. it just seemed unfair. Xxx
Do you feel any of these need to be set to be transfer resistant? Now that the dry winter is coming I really am trying to stay away from powder but need my foundation to be transfer resistant or transfer proof. Thanks so much. Sending oodles of love.

I just picked up the LaMer foundation, (Got it at the Cosmetic Company Store for $47-yippy) and I'm curious what kind of skincare you use under it for that perfect skin appearance.
The It Cosmetics one does not look like skin, since no skin has naturally sparkling particles on it… The only foundation that really looks like skin I have found so far is Mac F&B the old formula.
Thank you for your presentation, informative as always. I must admit at the moment I prefer my boots foundation, that you recommended, to the Lisa Eldridge but I will keep trying as initially I was applying too much. Love Lisa’s lipsticks though. Thinking of trying the Dior foundation as my medication is causing ‘ excess moisture’ on my forehead. Once again many thanks

Thank you for this video, I have been on the hunt for THE least foundation looking foundation, I rather dislike the feel of it all over my face plus I can NEVER find my shade. I tend to stick to BB creams and spot concealing, if I am being bothered. I am 34, some lines, very blue under eye area, few sun spots. I have tried a dozen or so without being impressed. Go figure the product that grabs me most is $130 I am not for a few of the ingredients though but by far the best looking foundation on my screen, and tonight you are huge on my 42"tv lol I see no pores! What socery is this? Your skin looks lovely, like you get sleep ha ha ha :> Cheers
Please help! Do you know of any foundations that don't settle into pores? I get a poka dot effect on my chin. I have normal skin of 63 years + use niacinamide to reduce pore size but no matter what foundation I purchase (currently using Lancome) it still settles in the pores. Powder makes it worse.
Please help...I don't like a heavy foundation
Good question, would also like to know. Perhaps you could try a primer?
It sound like a primer is your only solution, or possibly a different application method. xxx
Wish I like the La Mer and noticed we wear the same shade…. It made my skin look horrible
Unfortunately all too expensive for me, would have been nice to include a budget priced foundation, for us paupers!
I did include a budget foundation. X
L’Oréal true match 4N.
I am still trying to work out your accent. Still not sure what part of the country you are from. I have narrowed it down to North 🤣
She’s in Sheffield, Yorkshire
I'm from South Yorkshire xxx
