Queen called King a "torture loving pervert", I think Oda intended it to be a hint towards King's past of getting expetimented on and the Lunarian endurance, but simply didnt end up following through on it when it came to King's actual character. He certainly could endure all kinds of torture and potentially be able to enjoy it more than most people but it doesn't seem like it's actually a thing he does

I think it shows more of Queen's character and his dynamics with King, while hinting on King's past. So it was never about King literally being a torture loving pervert. It's like Sanji describing Zoro to a stranger; it wouldn't be objectively accurate.

This chapter just solidifies how the right hand man's are some of the coolest characters in all of One Piece. Both Zoro and King just want their captains to succeed and have been with them for the longest time. Same can be said about Rayleigh as well.

All Oda has to do to entertain yall is draw cool explosions and power ups. 130 chapters of Wano and it turned out the "Beast" pirates are all fodder compared to the straw hats. Why was Wano 130 chapters and four years long for? Makes no sense.

I like the contrast between King and Katakuri. Both right hands, but King fights for the strong on his crew (Kaido) and Katakuri fights for the weak on his crew (Siblings)

I think that the final panel of Wano that Oda wants to draw so much is the entire alliance eating a big pot of Oden in the flower capital for the post fight banquet. I think it would be both a really fitting feast and final send off/funeral for Kozuki Oden

The Fact that Zoros and Sanjis Fights are now over means Oda wants to focus mainly on Luffy and Kaido in 2022 and wrap Wano up and draw „that“ final scene he mentioned at Jump Festa….maybe „that“ is the return of Rocks D. Xebeck ? We will see

No Reviewer in the community even casually mentioned how Zoro may break his fall after his finisher - I think he'll either use his mid-air blade jump technique (Nitoryu: Clear Lance) or he'll land on Momo. Then before the end, he'll remind Momo of Sunacchi which he will use to pull off his capital saving feat.

Is it just me or Luffy seems to be using his ability to look at the future more and more in the Anime ?! It feels like he reacts or issue warning too everyone around him when something is about to happen!!

In the last few years I followed a ton of One Piece UA-camrs. There's been many great ones that have emerged lately. But long before them, the very first manga content creator I followed years ago was Sawyer and throughout the years he still remains as one of the best. Thanks for all of the content and happy new year.
I always feel like the ultimate one piece fan every time I finish watching a sawyer review, the amount of little facts and information that he brings with his reviews is heavily appreciated.
I can't fault King...or Arbel for becoming Kaido's right hand man after suffering time at Punk Hazard. If it was Big Mom or Shanks or Blackbeard who freed Arbel ...he will accept their offer of allegiance.

The dragon connection you made with King and the dragon statues in both Fishman Island and Wano just adds to my headcanon:
- Both Shirahoshi AND Momonosuke display the SAME KIND OF POWER, the POWER TO COMMAND GIANT ANCIENT CREATURES
- Both are their countries' respective royalties
- Both countries were confirmed allies of the Ancient Kingdom
- This means it's only LOGICAL for the Ancient Kingdom to bestow each ally with an ancient weapon
- Poseidon, god of the SEA, power given to a mermaid to command SEA kings
- Pluton, god of the underworld, aka the land, power given to a normal boy to command Zunesha (and possibly more giant land animals), and elephant, a LAND king
- Uranus, god of the SKY, power given to a winged person to command giant flying creatures
Following this logic, it's clear that Uranus will be a sky person (Shandian, Skypeian, Burkan, or Lunarian)
But we it’s already confirmed that Pluton is a ship

Imagine momo as Uranus a.k.a the God of the sky and the boy freaks out when in heights. While vivi (assumingly) is Pluton a.k.a God of the underworld that has the power to erase an island in a single blow is scared of war. How ironic.
I mean vivi is the literal key for the actual pluton to be activated

Did anyone notice that Zoro actually charged in and cut King down himself at the end. His probablynot just going to fall down off the island, but it was a reallllllly small drawing showing that Zoro had gone through kings attack and past king, cutting him. It was a direct Conquerers strike (not an air/flying slash).

Everyone went all out?? LMFAO!!! Beast pirates turned out to be fodder, including the commanders compared to the straw hats. An 8 year old did more damage than any of the beast pirates. This was a cake walk. Just another Dressrosa 2.0 arc, just twice as long.

Wow, some of you fanboys/ fangirls are really easy to impress. The beast pirates are worst Yonko crew. They look pathetic next to the big mom pirates. Oda build this up for what? Almost 10 years? And this is what we get? I know that the Strawhats are very strong and have to win because they are the protagonists but what happens right now is just sad. Luffy fought Cracker for over 10 hours in gear 4 and needed Namis support to defeat him. And King and Queen go down like this? Seriously….

@@benb5916 I am 28 and I started to read one Piece when I was 12. I love One Piece and I think that it’s the best Shonen Manga. However, after all this years I invested I excepted more than endless pacings for anticlimactic fights. So I will not swallow everything Oda tries to shove down our throats. What I learned in all this years is that One Piece fans just want to be happy with everything Oda does, so they just stopped using their brain and started to act like Every One Piece chapter is a genius and epic chapter, which they often aren’t

Definitely made the Nico Olvia connection after seeing King. What’s interesting is that Robin joins the Straw Hats and then immediately ventures to a Sky Island with them. In the same arc she has what was, until now, her only 1v1. Further, in the anime, her design changes to be lighter tone in skin. I think that was purposeful, to make us forget Olvia and to maybe throw off the scent that Robin was unique in her skin tone.
So what if Robin is also part Lunarian? I think it’s always been a fitting idea that Luffy has representatives of each type of human on his crew or in his alliance. We have the five original Straw Hats, then an animal who ate the human fruit, then a potential part Lunarian, then a cyborg, then an undead human, then a fish man. We have minks aligned with the crew, even if Carrot doesn’t join. We have giants, a tontattas, both long limbs. I’m sure the shandians and Berkans will find their way to the final war by Luffy’s side. There’s one more race I feel like we’ll learn of, which would be those humans who are larger than Luffy size humans but smaller than giants- those who are Kinemon, White Beard, Admiral sized. The Samurai would fit that role.
Unless King joins, or pulls a Katakuri, Robin would be a great fit as Lunarian representative.
It would also give more depth to her epithet “Devil’s Child” as considered from the WG perspective.
And if “Nico” is based to the Japanese onomatopoeia nico-nico which means to smile then she is literally named “Smiling Robin” and smiles connect to the ancient D clan.
the change in Robin's skintone was due to miscommunication between Toei and Oda. She was always supposed to have lighter skin.
It was bc at the time skip she was sent somewhere cold and your skin tends to be lighter in more colder areas

after luffy vs kata maybe i raised too much my expectations on zoro and sanji fighting YC..the action was cool but i did not feel the stress and tension as when they fought kaku and yabura..

Same for me as well tho. Like I get it they are stronger now, with power ups etc but I couldn't help but notice there is a liiiiiitle bit lacking in suspense. Maybe its just me but I was hoping both Sanji and Zoro will have like a life and death moment in this match and overcome thru it with like ultimate final techniques before finishing off Queen and King respectively

Anyone notice the pose Zoro used to slay King's dragon is exactly the same as when Ryuuma slayed his dragon in Monsters. Foreshadowing Zoro will become the new 'Sword God'.
It looks more like a tiger hunt attack, this attack is different hand positioning and 3 sword style rather than a 1 sword we see with zoro hiryu kaen or the monster one shot and when zoro cut a dragon in punk hazzard

Because I'm also probably loosing my mind, the first character that came to mind when I read that was Abel (I don't know, I was thinking about the trees, about King's race living on top of the red line, etc). Abel's name in Japanese is アベル, Aberu.

15:15 I thought Ushimaru's tattoo looked less like an olive wreath and more like the flowery semi-circle circle that the Kozuki's clans symbol has but more than that also Shusui's hilt, which makes sense. It doesn't seem to have leaves on the inside like an olive wreath would.

King's fire is a way to hype up Akainu i think
Cause you have this first commander and he can make fire like magma in his two best attacks that we have seen.
While Akainu is capable of not only doing that kind of thing casually but also be punching, spreading, throwing magma all around, changing the battlefield to magma, making it rain from the sky, etc etc
Now that I've read this, just remembered how much of a tanker Akainu is. Dude is freaking awesome in the marine ford

The 3 admrials would destroy Oden, but if someone like him is there on top of kaido, then sending kizaru wouldnt be enough, they would have to send at least two admirals and a good amount of strong vice admirals to fight any commander, if they want to be SURE of winning a battle there they would have to send 3 admirals, so they can overwhelm the enemy forces like they did in marineford. But they cant do that cause they also have to worry about Blackbeard, Dragon and Big Mom individually.

The speculation about Nico Olvia and Robin having ancestors who were Lunarians is a really interesting theory I never considered. The recent moment in the story where Robin was in her Devil form and had black wings could even allude to that connection. As well as earlier moments in the story where she used her devil fruit to create wings. Even Robin and King have a thematic connection in that they were both on the run from the world government simply for existing. King sought Kaido's strength for protection from the World Government while Robin also sought Crocidile and then Luffy's strength for protection from the World Government.

Very interesting ideas, I didn't pick up on a lot of the connections you laid out here. I'm not sure if you're saying Alber/King is Robin's father, or that he and Olvia just happen to be from the same race, but either way that brings up some crazy possibilities.
One thing I noticed you didn't touch on in the theology comparisons is that King seems to represent the fallen angel motif as well. He's a good-looking man, you might even call him beautiful, he has the huge black wings, he's from a race that was worshipped. Plus, we had a few references to a serpent in this chapter, both from King and from Zoro, and the serpent is also tied to a fall from heaven story - Adam and Eve's exile from Eden, and you brought up the connection to the Adam and Eve trees as well.

I am scared of what will happen to Zoro when Minks medicine wears out. Remember he was really in a bad condition and after the medicine wears out it will be worse then add to that the damage from King fight.
