From a two L Michelle to a one L Michele: Congrats on your new teardrop. As soon as I saw your model, I knew we had the same one. We just picked up my boy, Argo, from TC Teardrops in February. His first trip is this weekend. I am happy to have a new teardrop channel to subscribe to. Happy Camping.

Hi Michelle! It’s soooo cool to meet another TC Teardrop owner on here (and one with the best name 🤣) How exciting. I can’t wait to hear about your first trip. It’s honestly so amazing and I love that you named him! Someone on here made fun of me for naming and gendering mine but I think it’s totally normal 🤣 Happy camping to you in Argo!

@@MicheleShanklin Awww…. How cute is that?! I’d be going out to my garage too if I had a Teardrop. I used to do that all the time whenever I’d get a new motorcycle so I totally get it. You’ve worked hard for it, you deserve it all. Looking forward to having you take us along ❤️

Hello Michele...normally from Ouray, but am in Phoenix for 2 nights! And...it is raining 😞
Whoooaaa....Pepper looks to be super cool! Many congratulations on your purchase! I am positive Pepper will provide some awesome sleeps, as well as a very functional camp or base camp!! I can't wait to see where you go with her first....and on and on hehehe.
My shepherd and I do still tent camp a bit. It tends to be mostly in the winter while snowshoeing here in the San Juan Mountains. I also have a small travel trailer. I have a full size pick up, so could get a modest travel trailer, with all of the amenities of home (toilet, shower, stove, etc). I also put a robust lithium battery and solar panel array on it; so I don't really have to worry about powering stuff (only when it is cloudy and snowy for more than 3 days).
    Have an awesome night!

Welcome to my neck of the woods. Did you bring the rain?!
Thank you! I’m totally in love and keep pinching myself to make sure she’s real! Our first trips will be around here but my first vacation and big trip…..you know it’s going to be Silverton!
Yes I went with a lithium battery and panel as well. Just a small one for now but eventually will probably install another for more off grid things. I plan to spend time working away from home and escaping the heat so that’s the dream…..I won’t have a shower though 🤣 So not quite like home!

@@MicheleShanklin Absolutely!! First, I criss crossed contrails all over the valley. The I spread government "cloud seeds" ....and wahlaa! hehehe. The desert is always awesome after a rain! I believe it is supposed to be rainy when I leave tomorrow too.
That is really great! I absolutely love what solar does for a camper! With just living life normal in my camper....and if it is crummy out, I can do a solid 2 days.....and somewhere on the 18th-24th hr on the 3rd day is where it would cut off (if it was cloudy). As you know, fortunately the western US is so RARELY socked in for 3 days. And, of course, I carry a small generator to fix that, if it were the case. Having said all of that, I completely maxed my roof out with panels. The trailer box is 22 ft long and was able to put 1495w of panels up there. I took the perspective that panels are relatively cheap; and the more you have, the more happy I would be with the system. In the summer, my system is completely charged by 10am. In the winter, it is more like noon-ish (assuming a somewhat clear day). Oh...that is with 500ah of batteries. I have the space to put in 4 more batteries. But, I have not seen the need for that, at all.
For planning purposes, especially for those of us with dogs......and being someone that goes out to the desert too, you can generally run an a/c (I know you don't have one; so just making small talk) for the number of hours 1 less than the # of 100ah batteries you have. I have 5 batteries, so theoretically can do 4 hrs (if the batteries started off fully charged). I would never expect to leave my long hair dog in the trailer for 4 hrs with the ac going in a full desert summer day. But, I would definitely put him back there for an hour at a restaurant on a travel day. I guess, theoretically, I could run the generator in the parking lot.....and of course, have it chained down...and get much longer. But...I just don't see the need for that ever.
In my desert experiences, so far, about 85 degrees is my upper comfort level, inside the trailer, before turning on the air.
      Have a super day!

See I knew it was you 🤣 JK
Yeah I’ve got to learn all of that about my set up! It’s exciting to have new things to learn and expand knowledge on. Scary but in a good way!
Yeah you know I struggle solo traveling with not having a place to leave him. I use the restroom out on back roads way too much 🤣 maybe some day I’ll have an AC option! Need to be as cool as you for that one!
