It’s the same spec now, it’s been like that since before Silverstone. Fair play to him his doing well. It’s like him knowing his gone next year has taken weight off his shoulders to perform.
Yup, I hope he’ll return in the future at some point, he wasn’t given enough time, and not enough credit considering Alex albon is a fantastic driver and it’s hard for a new rookie To come and take him on, anyway he’s doing well now
I wonder how much his crashes alone have cost the team…Would be interesting like you said how much it’s affecting the development of car due to cutting costs.
It’s one thing to tell Max that RB isn’t playing the team game like other top teams, but it’s another problem where RB pulls Max down by spending R&D funds on fixing Checo’s car every weekend. Why would Max stay at RB when the team keeps lowering the chances of him winning the championship?
@@jakob.k_designi think maybe also because of the cost cap penalty in my opinion aswell and also red bull have less time in wind tunnel and CFD compare to Mclaren
@@MohamedLamkhiznicost cap penalty affected last years car if I’m not mistaken, but you’re right about the tunnel time. Also like OP said, they must be forking out a lot of money to fix Sergio’s car, I can’t even count how many times he’s crashed this year and most of the times is was quite hard meaning more replacements. What I’m hearing from other though is that McLaren has a flexi wing that the fia is okay with. Aston lost so much performance after theirs was banned last year.
@honeybadger1656 Yes you right maybe the cost cap penalty was affected last year car but speaking about the flexi wing is in it FIA banned it from singapore last year and yes AM pace is drop after FIA banned the flexi wing also Mercedes have very interesting front wing ever since they introduce him in Monaco they become so competitive not say it that front wing is illegal but they are genius in innovation like DAS as example in 2020
@@tunji4x if ur assessment only in Silverstone fine but before that and after that? His race pace is awful so Silverstone only can't be a proven point to said sargeant is better than perez for race pace perspective
For Russell (2:43) being knocked out he said that he didn’t have enough fuel. Mercedes didn’t fill the car up enough to be out there for the final laps on Q1
I think it is really important that McLaren do EXACTLY what Ferrari did at Singapore last year. Just say to the drivers tonight/tomorrow: "Look, we know you both want to win, but this is about executing the perfect race that gives Lando the best shot at the Drivers title, but mainly us the most points for the constructors as we can definetly compete. Oscar, you're job is to come home P2 bcs Lando is already ahead. And Lando your job is to keep Oscar safe of Max by lending him DRS and managing the pace correctly". It's not a "favourite child" situation, it's a "we cannot afford to throw this away for the sake of AT LEAST the constructors title" situation. Oscar and Lando are realistic and have been fantastic at playing the team game in their partnership so far, so I imagine they'll both go along regardless of scenario.
Honestly, I don't see Max challenging the mclarens tomorrow. Unless they get in a squabble amongst themselves or make any poor strategy calls, they'll run off into the distance.
@Root_boy why he can't challenge them is it because Mclaren is way faster better car than Red bull at the moment or Mclaren have great tyres management better than Red bull 🤔? EDIT" if Max have any chance to win the race if he overtake Piastri in first corner like he did on Lewis last year and then he stay close with Lando and put the presure on him and maybe with great strategy he can win but i can see only second place he can do is the maximum in this race even he will lose 6 to 7 points to Lando "
I'm rooting for Sainz this year because of what Ferrari did to him with signing with Ham... And he seems to be on track to beat Charles, despite the fact that he had to miss a race because of his surgery. ❤
I still think leclerc will beat Sainz. He's the quicker driver and the more consistent. After Spain, Charles had quite a lead over Carlos and I think he'll be able to pull it back out
@viking_2112 Carlos knows when strategy isn't going his way and makes decisions. He also is pretty damn consistent, not too many mistakes. Let's be real Carlos is out performing leclerc this year

Perez isn't even getting a second half of the season. Marko already said there will be a talk after Spa. And I'm 99.9999% that talk will be: "Checo, you're fired".
This has got to be the final straw for Perez and Red Bull. Move Danny Ric to Red Bull for the remainder of the year and bring in Lawson for RB, then sign Sainz for 2025 and beyond.
@bhuviking18 I think its getting more likely as his other options dry up and the rumours about max to merc keep going. I think sainz may take a chance on the possibility of max leaving
If anyone, Mick deserves a proper chance at F1. He was the F2 champ and poor guy got screwed. Ferrari dropped him from their academy and that God awful HAAS.
The HAAS in his last year was fairly decent. Kmag got points and did OK in it, Mick just wasn't cut out for it at that point. Maybe he's improved with more experience in other categories now. But he sucked because of his own mistakes.
I presume that sadly Perez has booked his exit from RB, and Yuki has handed the team an excuse not to promote him. Dan or Liam in the senior team after the summer break? I actually want to see Perez dropped now... doing so might give him time to arrange a shot at another team, and stop the pain.
Gonna go for Danny to RBR, Liam to VCARB. If Danny performs, he stays. If he doesn't, he can retire at the end of the year and RBR can promote Liam if he's fast enough or sign Sainz.
@@einstijn138 I wouldn't recommend promoting Liam already next season. Even if he does well. Let him het totally comfortable and get him in for 2026. New regulations and car, fresh start.
Perez looked at the top of the Timing tower at the end of Q1 and saw RIP, rubbed his eyes in confusion saw it read RIC and realised it was essentially the same thing.
I swear, at this point in the season, after watching that McLaren, I truly think that they have a sneaky flexi-wing on the front. If you see that thing bounce, the performance through quick successive corners, the low tyre deg... Yeah.
@@zenunogoncalvif I’m not mistaken they decided against it because other teams like Aston (2023) and themselves (2021) put money for the development and were shut down after a few races. But the FIA apparently is allowing this wing from McLaren.
@@honeybadger1656 Which is pretty much some big bullshit if you ask me, since McLaren was one of the teams that made sure that when Red Bull originally had the first flexi-wing, it was banned almost immediately. I don't get how McLaren suddenly is allowed to have it, when it's also clearly giving them a huge advantage. And yet somehow, the FIA is going to check flexi-wings in Spa? But I bet they still don't shut down McLaren with it.
Should be a very interesting race. If the McLaren's start fighting each other, Max may be right there to catch them out again. Should be at least a 1 - 3 for McLaren, even a 1 - 2, but they need to nail the strategy and work together. Also remains to be seen the true race pace of the upgraded Red Bull.
On Channel 4 today, they had Horner on after qually finished. Even though he wasn't saying _bad_ things about Checo, it was the first time I've ever heard him _not_ try to cover for him or say something positive. He even said that they need Checo to improve and said how many points he'd scored over the last 5-6 races (or however many it's been that he's scored 15 points over). Despite what people say about Red Bull, they can be very supportive of their drivers (they've certainly had their less-than stellar moments with some, of course). Horner especially has gone out of his way for some. They gave Danny Ric another chance when it looked like his F1 career was over, for example. Think about Albon. Other teams don't renew contracts and that's it. RB kept him as an employee as a reserve driver, had him testing using the sim, paid for him to keep race sharp in DTM and then gave him their blessing to go to Williams. However, I think it's the end for Checo. Not immediately, and probably not until the end of the year, but he's costing RB a lot in lost points and repairs. Everyone makes mistakes, but it's getting to be too much. I feel lousy saying this, and I keep willing him to get over this bad time like he did last year. But were I in Horner's place, I don't think I'd be keeping him next year. They must have given him that contract to give him a morale boost, but it's like he's thinking that he's got the contract so he's safe and now he's pushing too hard and making more mistakes instead. Fingers crossed he has a good race. 😢
I love checo but it would he hard for any of the driver choices redbull is talking about to do any worse than checo at this point. Hell as long as they kept it on the track, theyd be considered an improvement.
The Red Bull car is odd as I feel it doesn't have a true benchmark at the moment. Perez under delivers whilst Max embellishes it. They're complete polar opposites.

Unfortunately the only person who could have saved Logans F1 career is Logan. It would have been good to see him perform better and get into a better car but I can't see that happening
As a big McLaren fan and Norris fan - they HAVE to win and HAVE to finish 1-2 IMO. The strategy and mistakes from the team and Lando have a chance to be righted tomorrow starting 1-2. Also, they mentioned that Russell wasnt fueled enough.
The last hope for Perez at this point is Spa, he has to either win or finish P2 or 3 behind Max. If he can't do that at Belgium, he's done. Even if he does do that at Belgium, he may still be done, but it could make the argument more difficult.
At this stage I believe that literally any driver on the grid would do a better job then Perez and that includes Logan sergeant. He is just abysmal right now. Any F2 rookie would be kicked out if they crashed this much and Perez has years of experience and is in the best car this can not be happening anymore. Literally everyone else: what have you been watching this season??
Daniel is already having a seat fit for RB20
I'm watching this after the race and noticed they directly predicted Piastri jumping Norris on the start then Norris being faster latter in the race.
I think it is really important that McLaren do EXACTLY what Ferrari did at Singapore last year. Just say to the drivers tonight/tomorrow:
"Look, we know you both want to win, but this is about executing the perfect race that gives Lando the best shot at the Drivers title, but mainly us the most points for the constructors as we can definetly compete.
I completely agree! Lando needs to give Oscar DRS so that Max can't overtake Oscar, and possibly win the race.
And if that plan a doesn't work, Piastri could slow Max down for as many laps as possible.
McLaren can't throw this.
Honestly, I don't see Max challenging the mclarens tomorrow. Unless they get in a squabble amongst themselves or make any poor strategy calls, they'll run off into the distance.
@@Root_boy Yeah Max might take it easy on them, he might be satisfied with third... would that be in character?
I'm with you there mate.
Ferrari signed the wrong driver tbh Hamilton and sainz would be incredible
nah Leclerc still clear, sainz only beats him when Ferrari fucks him up
I still think leclerc will beat Sainz.
