This is spot on. Especially for people who are getting older. Strengthening your hip flexors is one way to prevent falls and older age, which is one of the major causes of hospitalizations and older people. This should be an ongoing exercise through life.
Yes.
YOU BET!
you seems to be working in nersing home😂😂😂
Broken hips is a great business for some . Didn't you know about this?
As a former Track and Field athlete, I learned early on the power of those muscles, the benefits are crazy!!! I love it!!!
Thanks I'll try these out
This is definitely a must speaking from experience
Yea, i stretch them but never knew what i was stretching. Didn't know how to train them till recently.
I love how he said train your damn hip flexors I have been training them since seeing this video
I need to do some of these exercises..
Recovering from herniated disc sciatica; this is gold! I'd like to see how breathing coordinates with the exercises.
I wanna move better as a crocodile though.
SO true !!! Too loose muscles from tooo much stretching. Strength training GOOD IDEAS !!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND TIME & ADVICE !!! LESS BACK PAINS!!! EXERCISE GET BETTER DAILY!!! 😊😊😊❤❤❤😊
I had a THR 16 days ago. The surgeon had to retract and stretch the hip flexors. Ugh. Now I have retrain the hip flexors! I'll get there.
Thank you for sharing ❤
“Training your hip flexors can help with a ton of things”
😂
Ayo
Deliciously vague, yes king
Love this thanks so much.
The only common sense effective strengthening exercises I’ve ever seen
Love the supine 2fer! Stretch n strengthen. ❤
Hip flexors are so key
This was helpful! Thank you for sharing!
I train them during sit ups
Nice bro those seated ones are something I haven’t tried, thanks!
Thanks. We need that help with older age. ❤
Another short explaining why in more detail and in what ways hip flexors that are not trained are deficient would help us a lot to understand how things work in our bodies.
Thank you, squat on.
Thank you for sharing
This video earn you my follow bro I have relapsing MS and the hip flexors would loosen up today and be stiffer than they were the day before so I need t see this video I appreciate you 💯👍🏿
Great video
I like streching in many different kind of ways that I know.
Also I like playing basketball.
All the running, jumping, and lateral movements made my body strong.
I saw these videos about hip flexors and got curious, but I found out that I dont have problems in that area.😊
This is great, thank you
When I start training hip flexor, I can Sprint faster and have better running form
I’ve been thinking that somehow my hip flexors were connected with my smaller/shortened stride length. That’s why I want to know more about how it works inside me
I want to start back running so I’m going to do these first so I don’t hurt myself. my hip flexors have definitely gotten weaker.
Yes..they hold u up!
Would you please let me know which band is being used in the elevated bridge? Thanks for the great educational video!
Awsome bro
Best humanistic exercise😊
Amen
Do true! Since THR I've focused on strength and flexibility
way better video than everyone
Appreciate the support! Thank you!
Yes, my chiropractor has prescribed a hip flexor exercise for me.
done that resistance band one before, accidentally tilted one foot and whipped myself in the testicles 🥴😭
Train them
When should you do these so they don’t interfere with workouts and recovery on a PPL regimen?
I do them on L.
Truth! I train mine. Everything is different now. I move with purpose. I’m faster than most men 6’4 I’m 5’1
💯
Ok bet
how are hip flexors used in squats?
I start getting back pain when I train hip flexor
Can this be used as a part of a dynamic warm up?
How many times a week pls?
The second exercise looks so easy but so difficult
It's sneaky hard for sure!
This shit causes more back pain where it hard to even sit. Thanks for the three days of pain
Ffs i want to move better as a butterfly, nobody online ever thinks of me 😔
What about leg raises?
Train them and stretch them as well. Most people sit a lot, creating shortened muscles.
For some, stretching does need to a be part of the routine!
Love this. Is there a hip flexor program in the app?
We have our Hip Prehab Program which is a perfect fit! bit.ly/tryprehabYT

Olen havainnut saman asian, että pitää tehdä jalkakyykyn vastaliikkeitä. Kuten lonkan koukistajaa ja säären koukistusta.
Can I fix my anterior pelvic tilt by strengthening and stretching my hip flexors pls reply anyone
Yes, to key to fixing anterior pelvic tilt is a strong core, strong hip flexors, and stretching\strengthening the lower back
While doing 3rd exercise my right hip is popping
Our bodies are meant to pop and crack and move, as long as it's not painful, generally nothing to worry about!
Greatest advice you’re gonna hear for the anterior guys. Wish I started sooner.
Don't listen to this insane person. 😂 train your muscles, sure, but your psosas is working just fine supporting your squats, standing, jumping, ect..
Streching too much and too far can be dangerous.
My x-rays showed I have hip tendinitis, is this excersize good. How about bridges and squats. Pls help, thanks😊.
This can definitely serve a role depending on where you are dealing with the tendinitis! Have you checked out our hip programs through our app? Those could definitely be helpful for you! bit.ly/tryprehabYT
That last one tho..
When should I do this? Before or after a long day?
Try both and see what works best for you and your body!
Why can't we save shorts?
I always have to send the short to myself so i can go bsck and watch it. Why dont we have the ability to favourite shorts??
I think one day UA-cam will hop on the "favorite" train, until then we may have to keep waiting!
Just add them to a playlist
Just make sure you don’t over train the flexors compared to glutes or you will end up with hip arthritis ultimately. Too often the hip flexors are stronger than the glutes from modern life and pull the hip into the socket too strongly. If your flexors need training than your glutes probably need more.
But if you’re hip flexors are tight from a constantly sitting, wouldn’t strengthening only make things worse because it’s more tight?
No necessarily! Sometimes our body misinterprets weakness and tightness and oftentimes, people find that perceived tightness goes away when they strengthen.
I have a muscle imbalance in my hips, my right hip is weaker and higher than my left. Any suggestions? Would really appreciate it!
try a 3:2 ratio of sets, right:left! That will require more work from the right side without necessarily training it different than the left
@@ThePrehabGuys I will try that. Thank you! How many times a week do I do so? Or every day?
Me too.
@@sarahmobarak_ come to think of it I’ve never heard any of these videos recommend something done every day. It’s always spaced out, even if you do exercises every day.
@@agoogleuser4356 I have been consistent due to lots of schoolwork, but I wouldn't do them every day, especially in the beginning since my hips got sore and needed to recover. I also work on strengthening my core and activating my glutes. I hope you achieve your fitness goals.
Ok. are you going to add an extra 20000 years to my life to do every stretch ever every day 10x a day? holy f. we weren't made to just stretch all day
Well dammit I didn’t know 😂
snowshoeing is good for flexors. if only there was a cardio machine for that.
Is it normal for the lower back to crack when you bring your leg down? lol
Are knee drives and straight leg hip flexion the same thing? As far as terminology? Is it wrong to call knee drives a hip flexion movement?
Knee drives do require hip flexion as well!
Still have sciatica.
Check out some of our content on sciatica! We have a great video on it!
Weight of kettle bell used?
Start light and go from there, these are challenging!
The resistance band clip - why do you elevate your feet
Sets and reps?
Try starting with 2-3 sets of 5-8 reps as tolerated!
That last one with the bridge can it help with pelvic tilt?
Depends on the tilt ? Anterior or posterior ?
@@alanmorton5303 I'm not entirely sure my pelvis is in a slightly forward position i think. Spent a lot of time sedantary when I broke my heel. The only exercise my doctor gave me was laying side leg raises with a band
DO YOU HAVE TO SAY, "DAM HIP FLEXORS"?
A lot of these don’t look right for the hip flexor though
Give em a try and let us know what you think!
This
How often do You do this routine ?
Shooting for doing strengthening somewhere around 2-3x/week depending on your experience with resistance training is a good place to start!
Also how about sete and reps per excersise ? Thank You
How many sets n repe
If you did all these exercises the supposed experts say, it would take 10 hours a day
Hopefully not! Pull the most challenging ones for you from the exercises we demonstrated and get after those 💪🏻
Stretching needa more scientific research.
To know the benifits and harms.
It's actually eccentric hip 'flexion', not eccentric hip 'extension'... And even that's not true, because you're doing both concentric and eccentric. It's outer-range resisted hip flexion, if anything.
What shoes are those ??
Nike Metcons!
These are vivo barefoot primus
@@ThePrehabGuys what the heck
Eccentric Hip Flexion?
Whoops yes you caught us, Eccentric Hip Flexion. Thanks! It's a great exercise, give it a try!
@@ThePrehabGuys That came out more rude that intended! It's fine! Love your videos. As a PTA, I watch all of them for ideas/understanding!
my hip flexors always hurt.
Keep training them and see if it helps!
@@ThePrehabGuys Ok. definitely will try. Because only stretching isn’t working.
Any one wanna point out how he has to work concentrically through hip flexion to get his eccentric hip extension …… making it exactly the same as every other exercise. UA-camrs and fitness man always a car crash
It's like Rip says...people aren't satisfied unless it looks complicated. What makes stronger squats? Squatting heavier! Not fucking around with rubber bands! FFS.
Squats are also a great quad exercise as well!
What kind of band is that in the last exercise?
theprehabguys.com/product-category/physical/equipment/
😂do NOT train your psoas
I think he wanted to say glutes and core but doesn’t know how to express it.
Of those four stated benefits, only one is true - stronger hips. Specifically, stronger hip flexors.
They do not contribute meaningfully to loaded squats, there is no strong evidence linking back pain to hip flexor strength, and the term “move better” is a meaningless phrase without a definition (and a big red flag 🚩that the person saying it is a quack).
I tore mine working as a nurse. SMH
Yours are damned, not mine
What if i werent a human? Would i still be able to move better as an alien?
Asking for a friend 👀
You'll have to report back to us and let us know!
Stretching is not proven what works.
Our muscles are not towels.
Ask ur doctor!
Banded mountain climbers?
No L sit hold? Get outta here bro
When will the popping stop? 😂
As long as the popping isn't painful not something to worry too much about! Stay consistent with these exercises!
@ThePrehabGuys thank you 😊😊
why do you feel the need to swear?
are these speed up? I need to try some of these. Right now I just use cable machine with a bench to get my hip flexors. But I always go slow on the eccentric and have a pause, just like daddy rp says
Give them a go! The slow eccentric will help keep the tissue from shortening excessively
@@ThePrehabGuys thanks. Yeah I had to use my kitchen counter top to get a high surface. Originally I was just gonna put a punch of weights under the bench but I had an epiphany that I was too stupid to be improvising. Yes, that movement was super nice, I really felt a good stretch. Thanks again
He meant training glutes and core stabilizers not hip flexors.
What the f are you on about 🤷♂️
