I think Erin’s reason was similar to Ant’s reason for trapping. Although different backgrounds, they both fell for the glamour of it all. A lot of us no matter our backgrounds loved trap music back then and wore street clothes and spoke the slang back then which came from the hood. I figured out which movie that was being hinted at at the end as soon as you said a long ride, broken promises of stardom and possibly pregnancy. Let me just say that the Ride was a hot mess. I can't wait for you to give a recap and commentary about this movie. 🤣
I literally was a senior in High school when this movie came out. I can’t believe it’s been almost 20yrs 😩 I’m always reciting random quotes from this movie 😂
Girl, please do roll bounce or you got served!
Yes please!
Please do Coach Carter soon that was my favorite movie. I got it on DVD and watched it everyday
Your commentary & these comments are sooo funny fr😂
IM SO READY! The way I used to watch this movie over and over all summer break was crazy🙌🏽
“Okay, who’s going into titty city to get the cash?”
THIS IS LITERALLY MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME EVERRRR😭😭 thank you for doing thisss🫶🏼😊
Omg, I remember when this movie came out during my senior year of high school, oh it was a time!! 😍😍😍 the movies theaters were packed and the soundtrack was so good! Watching it as an adult brings back so many memories of my high school days as we had a good time! ❤❤❤
That cuddy screen takes me out every time lol 😭😭😭😭😭
I was in HS when this movie came out. I remember watching it on TV but I don’t remember anything about it other than the necklace scene 😂 I’m gonna have to watch it again.
Me being from Atlanta and going to college in another state around this time, I FREQUENTLY got asked if I knew how to skate or if I had been to Cascade. 😂🤬🤬🤬
mannnnn this movie is such a classic… may not be the “best” movie but its wrapped in so much nostalgia and memories
The funny thing is the big boi scene with him and Ant was improvised
I remember when this came out, people were actually mad because T.I. wasnt a street cat in the movie. I was liked "didn't y'all see him say 'you dont gotta be a dopeboy to have money' in the trailer?"
I was at Spelman when this movie came out. To be fair, there were a lot of privileged Black girls and boys (Morehouse) cosplaying as "hood." I knew a few of them who went as far as selling nicks and dimes of weed, and would say things like "my parents are rich - I'm not" 🙄😂 I was from Bedstuy Brooklyn so, like Jackie Long, I saw through all of the performances, but unfortunately this was a thing that did happen.
Fun fact: the "dorm" they pull up to in the end is actually our financial aid building on campus called Packard Hall. 😂😂 I get it though, it is one of the more architecturally interesting buildings to look at on campus as far as the dorms go 💙💁🏾♀️
I listen to your videos on washdays chile, you really get me through it cause you’re commentary is all the thoughts I have while watching these films😂😂
I wanted to learn how to skate so bad when I first saw this😂😂Never did get it down tho🤦🏾♂️
I was 12 when this came out it was a cultural event. It's as close to the 90s hood classic era that we got in the 2000s.
I’m excited for the next video. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone talk about that movie. It’s one of my favorites. Use to watch it a lot with our mommy
What movie is it?
We don’t have many coming of Age films but this is one of the best ones. This was a great mid Y2K time capsule too!
I was in the 7th grade when I this came out. 😂 you HAD to be there.
Awesome 🤩 my childhood movie!
I want everyone to know ATL is not how Atlanta really is.
Not at all. 🎯
I feel you. Clark-Atlanta Panther here. You know....and I know, they could not get a deal to get the movie made if they showed how Atlanta really is.
@@TokyoCaliLove Not anymore! Like I mentioned, as the first commenter, I’m from Atlanta aka Grady Baby. After the Olympics came, that’s when Atlanta began to change. It’s like another world, now. People won’t stop coming. Traffic 24/7. Gentrification. You name it.
“Nah boi for play play” 😂
"Naw Dem 28's! 😅
"Where Your Ruler 📏 At?"🤣🤣
I cackle at every scene Tasha smith is in. “Ya asses not too old to be beat” 😭😭😭
Bro how did New New meet the twins??? 🤣🤔
Good question 😂😂😂🤔🤨
@@ShonnysLab1995 been wondering this for YEARS!! 😂
Probably while they were shoplifting and Erin was shopping for the “new new” ish 🤣🤣🤣
@@reneelovve640 on God! They saw her grabbing designer shit and latched to her because they thought she was stealing and she went along with it 😂
@@marcellusfinch6366 I can totally see this 🥴🤣🤣
It still tickles me Rashad acted so betrayed by New New when he ain’t even know her real name
I've always liked this movie. I guess it's because it came out when I was in the 6th grade, and that time brings back such good memories. I'll always have a soft spot for it lol ❤
Man, the soundtrack blew me away when I rewatched this. Like, thisntook me back to those early high school years!
I cannot wait 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾!!!
