      The Herd with Colin Cowherd I think a kyrie IT swap with a couple of second rounders coulda worked out but boston threw jae crowder and the nets pick for absolutely no reason

      I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I think IT is a completely overrated stat stuffer that is always going to struggle because of his size. Boston looked even better when he got injured. This is not good for CLE but we all know LBJ is on his way out to L.A. because of his conflict with Dan Gilbert and admiration of Magic.

      Vale, are you a NBA GM? The Pacers were looking for a king's ransom to trade George within the East, and since he only has 1 year left on his deal it makes no sense to overpay for someone who wouldn't stick around. Bradley is good no doubt, but he only has 1 year left on his deal and will get a near max deal, which he wouldn't get with the Celtics having now two max deals on their books. Might as well get something for him in return.

      AidenHighlights well Lebron could settle down into a new role as a leader and offball player as the lakers develop into a team. He can't make the finals 20 years in a row, and the Lakers would be a good long term home

      LongJohn Silverthorne there's a difference between a rook to a third year player that reminds Kd playstyle plus lonzo ball will be second year and might prove he's all that and they will then get Paul gerorge and have a lot of good young players that aren't 18 but not 30 they like around the 20s so yea it's differen

    Bledsoe, JR, George, Lebron, Love could have been such a nice lineup and really compete with the warriors. Too bad Lebron didn't commit to the cavs so the trade was nixed.

    • @bwilly3615
      @bwilly3615 7 років тому +7

      I just meant versus the warriors to compete with their "small ball death lineup". During the regular season you'd play Love at the 4 and TT at the 5.

    • @thatsolokid8719
      @thatsolokid8719 7 років тому +2

      BWilly Even against the Warriors, Zaza and McGee are incredibly underrated rebounders, Love would get absolutely bullied if TT isnt helping him on the boards. Best thing for the Cavs would be to go IT - JR - LBJ - LOVE - TT. Then we have something to discuss.

    • @franciscosantoslopes4653
      @franciscosantoslopes4653 7 років тому +2

      +That Solo Kid bullied??? Ahahah TT helping on the boards. TT had só dee rebounds this finals that stephen curry outrebounded him. On the other hand Love in the first game got 21 rebounds

    • @bwilly3615
      @bwilly3615 7 років тому

      The warriors small ball death lineup is Curry-Klay-Iggy-Durant-Green so Zaza/McGee aren't important for this discussion.

    This trade sets the Cavs up for a few options, primarily for LeBron staying.
    If LeBron stays:
    They can let Isaiah walk and free up big money for Paul George, CP3, Cousins, Westbrook or other notable players in the 2018 off-season. They can use the 2018 pick + a piece (like Love) to get another star.
    If LeBron leaves:
    They lose his contract burden, they can drop Isaiahs, use the 2018 pick or trade for pieces.
    They opened themselves up from a prison cell with this trade

    • @tigera6
      @tigera6 7 років тому +6

      If Lebron leave, not one would want to come to Cleveland no matter how much cap space they have.

    • @dbstewart86
      @dbstewart86 7 років тому

      Loantastic They'd really only be freeing up money for one of LeBron's boys in reality. The Warriors are a huge obstacle to overcome for the next few years. If you're a free agent and you see GSW on the horizon, why choose Cleveland for basically the same result? Might be better to go to a city you enjoy which Cleveland is rarely on that list. Only if they show they can hang to some degree this year will FAs consider Cleveland if it looks like they could feasibly win.

    • @loantastic6140
      @loantastic6140 7 років тому

      That's why I said "use the 2018 pick"... I didn't say they can only trade it.. C'mon man.

    • @loantastic6140
      @loantastic6140 7 років тому

      LeBron would drop money for his boys at this stage.
      Also, they'd sign one of the players from free-agency and go after another player with Love + the 2018 pick. That'd free up a 5-year contract in Kevin Love.

    Honestly I feel like LeBron's best option would be to go to Washington next year. Playing with a top 3 PG in the league with a great 2-way SG star in Wall and Beal would be enough honestly, but the likelihood of signing DeMarcus Cousins is very real, meaning Washington could have a lineup of Wall, Beal, James, Morris, Cousins. That's 2, maybe even 3 more rings for Bron with no worry of losing pre-finals

    Is Colin continually pushing Lebron to LAL because Fox is pressuring him to or more because Colin lives in LA and wants it to happen?
    It is nutty to think even if Lonzo wins ROY and Ingram is at 18 ppg next year that a 2 year older Lebron + PG + a 20 year old + a 19 year old have a chance to beat GS

    • @QCongress83
      @QCongress83 7 років тому

      Jason Janisewski I say it's both because a lot of Fox Sports programs are done in L.A.
      And, Colin is pushing it because he lives in L.A. as well as he feels that LeBron needs to be in L.A. to be a mogul. And, almost everybody wants him in L.A. because they feel he'll be treated like a celebrity.

    Who is to say the Nets pick is top 5? In the weak East? If it wasn't for that pick, this is a win for Boston. Even then though, who is to say that pick is going to give you a Lebron or Irving as opposed to an Odom or Mayor or Russell. Shoot, Boston drafted Marcus Smart #6 and he is a bench guy on the very team whose fans are worried they traded a big pick.
    Think of it this way, Celtics weren't going to sign IT next summer and they used the Nets pick to draft Irving. That's a win and that's how C fans should look at it.

    Fantastic trade for Celtics; 5 reasons. First, much as I loved Isaiah, the nightmare of losing him next season when the Celts didn't pay him at supermax is now a non-issue. Second, addition by subtraction: no way could the Celtics have given significant minutes to all the very good (i.e. non-superstar) players on their roster. Shaking loose three good players now will give what remains a chance to thrive. Third, superstars are like magnets, you need one to attract others: the Anthony Davis' and Porzingis' of the world might find playing with a spitfire like Isaiah intriguing, but an opportunity to play with a top six uber-talent like Kyrie ought to fill them with visions of dynasty. Last, Kyrie is now out from under Lebron's stifling shadow, and is the centerpiece for a very young team that should look to him for leadership... the Celtics could use such leadership, and the opportunity to lead seems to be exactly what Kyrie is seeking. Sounds like a match made in heaven to me. (Footnote: that said, I think this trade, from the Cav's perspective, is an absolute blockbuster! Kudos to their general manager for making lemonade out of lemons. He even got a draft pick that may translate to another superstar by way of insurance should Lebron leave!)

    So everyone thinks that Lebron will go to LA, a team filled with 18-20 year old's, but he wouldn't want to get a 18 year old (Bagley/Porter) with more potential than all those dudes?

  • @crazytrain111

    The ultimate reason Cleveland won the deal is because they got backed into a corner by the trade demand. Teams could have just waited till the trade deadline and forced them to give Kyrie up for peanuts... instead they get 2 legitimate starters, who will help against GS, and a top 10 pick, to protect the team if Lebron leaves.

    Everybody keeps saying Lebrons going to the lakers and as a laker fan I see something else brewing. Especially with Jerry West on the clippers now. I think hes pulling or double move and heading to the clippers to win his own ring. And ultimately it would be since there's nobody that has won for the clippers. I just think the pieces are in place for him to come along with either Westbrook or PG13. Think about it they got DE Andre Jordan and Blake Griffin the pieces are there. I don't know I just feel that coming on if he does move.
