I fallowed this video exactly on my drivers test and i passed! That was the only second time i tried. Thank you! Your videos helped me so much. I havent tried to take my drivers test after the first time in like 6 years.
dude i swear i know or have met like 5 different people who have the EXACT same face and voice as you. pretty good tutorial though, this is the same method my driving instructor taught me back when i learned to drive.
Can you please do a how to parallel park in tight spaces ? Please I still can’t do it and it’s so frustrating I never know when to straighten out I never know if I should turn all the way or one full turn because I live in the uk there are so many right roads and parking spots please send help
Easier way: Line your cars side mirror to the car next to yours side view mirror Turn the wheel and move back into the parking spot. Ram the fuck outta the car behind you till its far back enough for you to fit Do the same for the car infront Then your good
SlackersIndustry that was a perfect reality, can't stop laughing. Happened to me 3 times before I realized that I was just concentrating too damn hard. Now I can measure the space at first glance and just back that ass up into the spot with no problem. Confidence is definitely key to it all.
Summed up: -line up rear tyres with bumper, crank wheel fully to the right and reverse -line up centre of car with back bumper, straighten wheel and reverse -line up side mirror with bumper, crank wheel fully to the left and reverse -pull forward to be parallel with the curb, adjusting as needed
Nomadic Moons Ty very much I have my test in a week and a half and I've never been so nervous I'm 22 and waited far too long and sick of putting it off Wish me luck!
Parallel parking? Oh I'm sorry I didn't watch that part because of that sexy E39 M5. You should make this video with one of those driver ed Corollas. That way I won't have a sexy car to focus on.
You make it way to complicated. The simple way is to: stop just next to the car in front of the spot. back up till your front side window are next to his rear side windows. then turn your steering wheel 360 degrees, back up till your back fender (from the mirror's view) reaches the edge of the kerb, then turn your steering wheel all the way to the other direction, back up, you're done. :)
You had a really complicated way of explaining. There's a much easier way. When you're ready to start reversing turn your steering wheel all the way to the right and back up until you see the whole front of the car that's behind you from your left mirror. Then straighten the wheel and back up straight until your rear tire is close to the curb (about 20cm or so) and then turn your steering wheel all the way to the left and finish the parking :)
What if there isn't a vehicle behind you? Many road test centres don't make students park between two vehicles - they only make them parallel park behind a single vehicle. And how does the driver know whether he or she is 20 cm or 12 inches from the curb - what marker should they use? Thanks Cheers Rick
When there isn't a car behind you it doesn't matter as much how much you turn the car because you have a lot more room to work with. And for how to know when you're 20cm (or 12 inches) away from the curb, I like to watch my right rear tire from my right mirror and I just judge the distance, that's how I was told to do it and I've never had problems with it. If you still have questions, please ask :)
>stop next to car you are parking behind about a distance of half a meterish away >reverse until the back tires are just behind or inline of the rear bumper of other car >start to reverse and simultaneously steer wheel to reverse into spot >when reversing at that point, stop at 45 degrees of the road >reverse and simultaneously start turning the wheel in the other direction >stop reversing after you're inline with the car SOOOOO MUCH SIMPLER
Here's an easier way, line your cars side view mirror right next to the car your parallel parking behind, once you line it up, turn the wheel all the way to the right, then once your bumper is past the vehicles bumper turn the wheel all the way to the left until straight and there you have it.
+Karan Grewal "line your cars side mirror right next to the car you're parallel parking behind" But I guess it depends on how big or small the two cars are, right?
+miauabcd yea generally you line up your cars side mirror next to the other cars side mirror but if it's a long cab pick up or something then it will vary
Thank you for posting this video! The visual markers made sense in my head. I watched this a few times last night, and passed my driver's test this morning, even though I had no chance to practice parallel parking ahead of time! :)
He made this way more difficult than it needs to be. Pull up until the front your car lines with the middle of theirs . Cut the wheel fully to the direction of the curb and back up until your back tire slightly kisses the curb. You should be at about 1 o’clock. Cut the wheel fully the other way and slowly back in until straight. Boom. Works perfectly every time.
You take a lot of space lining your car like that because when you reverse you will end up far behind the front car and probably hit the car behind you. I would always turn the steering wheel all the way to the curb when I see their tail light on my back passenger door. Then back up until 45 degree angle (10 o clock or 2 o clock) then straightened the wheel and with my mirror lowered just watch the back wheel get very close to the curb and then turn the steering wheel all the way to the opposite to straighten the car.
The more weird fix points you need to guide you into a parallel parking space the more your technique becomes unique to a single car. A good rule of thumb is to use the c pillar, which is usually close to the center of the rear wheel and then turn in fully once that is passing the car parked in front of your desired space. Next look left over your shoulder (right for UK and other odd countries) and once your outside rear tire is about to pass the outside line of the car behind you, turn fully the other way. Now look forward to check that you don't graze your front against the rear of the car in front. That should do it.
If anyone watches this for road test Michigan you can't pull forward and re adjust or its a point of they don't care if it's crooked you have to be in these small dashes trust me it's easy
It's the same for me here in Washington. Unfortunately I think this is quite BS, they expect you to be perfect first time when adjustments should be ENCOURAGED. As long as you aren't holding up a city block or hitting the cars in front of you during this maneuver everything should be fine. Thankfully you can screw up the parallel parking test and still be able to get your license provided you do good on the rest of the road test! :)
When I took my driving test years ago, I actually slightly hit with my bumper the pole that was standing in for the car behind me. But, they passed me anyway! I probably didn't deserve it, but I'm not going to argue.
After you've been driving for a good amount of time, parallel parking is almost second nature. Practice makes perfect. I used to have a difficult time when I first started driving but now it's a lot easier.
i was looking for a video to show my daughter, who is moving to boston, how to parallel park. its a cute video, but couldnt you have found a spare car to park behind?! it was a little hard trying to imagine where to line the car up with the other one, when the point of reference was a golf bag. lol
The trick is to do it slow, and when cranking the wheel all the way, stay STOPPED. Don't drive and crank at the same time. STOP, CRANK (while stopped) and then reverse.
It's an easy way to do it, but you need to keep in mind dry-turning the wheels is also pretty bad for them, depending on road surface, causes wear-and-tear and possibly even wheel alignment issues on some roads (especially uneven bluestone gutters in some countries). Crank while moving super slowly is alright, but in the end it's just a feeling thing, when and how fast to turn. Practice makes perfect.
lol terrible explanation.. 1. If the car you're next trying to park behind is a Smart Fortwo you still align your seat with its? 2. Rolling the window down and adjusting the side mirror cannot be done electrically in many cars. 3. You complicated the fuck out of it..
+Nik Brudar He hardly made this complicated. How could you not understand what he was saying? Just because you're stupid and ignorant doesn't give you the right to criticize others.
Correction: You cannot go by where the other cars front seat is, as all cars are different lengths and this would be off. You need to align the ass end of the two cars, using your mirrors to approximate as best as possible.
Cause most of us are never in a situation where we ever have to.. but our driving tests test for it anyways. It's basically irrelevant in most of the country. Sorry that your tiny backwater doesn't have enough room for more proper parking lots.
Rachel Adria In Australia we have a combination of pretty much everything. Roundabouts and intersections(both give way and traffic light) are used in equal measure, and parallel and parking bays, unmarked and marked, we got them all. There's a time and a place for both types of parking, in the middle of the city if you didn't park parallel, good luck merging into the constant stream of traffic, you'll never find a room to reverse out of a parking bay. Whereas parallel you can just pull out, spurt of acceleration and you're golden. What i find funny is that most americans think that manual transmissions don't exist in modern cars anymore, very funny xD
Talk about over educating, its really simple, i reckon people trying to learn like this will end up bumping cars... just make a mental map of your surroundings and be familiar with your car
I Have 8 feet width or 16 feet long space in my home Or My gate width is 10 feet. There are 12 feet road front of my house can I parked xuv500 car in My houseIt's Possible...or NotIn case It's Not Possible So Give me Minimum parking spaces Required Minimum Width for xuv 500 car parking...& Tell me car turned inside in home so gate width size required ???There are 12 feet Street only...
Step 1: turn blinker on and approach the spot You want to get right next to the spot to make sure there is enough room to park Check around Pull forward next to the car infront of the spot in front of you Step : 2 align your seat with the cars seat in front of your Put the car into reverse Step 3: ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW ON THE RIGHT SIDE and adjust your right mirror down so you can look at the curb Step 4: back up straight until your REAR TIRES are EXACTLY even with the BACK of the persons bumper So the very end of the car Step 5: crank the wheel all the way to the right at around a 45 degree angle Keep making sure you check the distance Once your center pillar is RIGHT NEXT TO THE BACK BUMPER OF THE CAR or your MIDDLE LINE IN THE CAR IS NEXT TO THE BUMPER OF THE CAR straighten out your wheels and begin to move back in reverse straight Step 6: JUST BEFORE YOUR RIGHT MIRROR IS ABOUT TO PASS THE DISTANCE FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR, now crank the wheel all the way to the left. ( PAY ATTENTION TO THE MIRRORS TO KEEP CHECKING EVERYTHING and distance) Now your car has cleared the space and do it slowly watch THE CURB ON THE RIGHT MIRROR AS YOU MAKE SURE YOU DONT HIT THE CURB. After this point shift the gear into drive and straighten out and do what you have to do to make sure the car is 6-12 inches away from the curb. (MAKE SURE TO ALWAYS CHECK YOUR REAR WINDOW AND YOUR RIGHT HANDED MIRROR)
I've been driving a few years now and I could put my e30 in the most smallest spaces which was handy as the people on my street wouldn't attempt to fit in it so I'll always have a space when I get back. But I've picked up a brand new mx5 and I can't park... At all I will struggle to get into a gap that could fit two cars
Some people are just more challenged right or left brain-wise for backing up. I have a friend and my mother who can't back out of a straight driveway, even though the car's wheels are ALREADY lined up, and the driveway is straight. They make all kinds of unnecessary wheel turns, and weave their way down the driveway like they're pretending to be a snake. (My landscaping timbers in my driveway can attest. They are destroyed!) So there is a tip for parallel parking too. Stop making unnecessary turns. On most all my parallel parks, I turn the wheel only 3 times - right, straight, left, and I'm in. If you can't do it most of the time with 3 wheel turns, then you're doing it WRONG. I noticed in this video, that this guy had a bunch of unnecessary wheel wobbles, so this was probably a challenge for him to parallel park back in the day.
No no no, didn't you hear the new laws? BMWs are legally allowed to just jolt into the parking spot at a perpendicular angle. Helps turn that three-point turn into a two-point turn! Less turns = more gas mileage!
Why do you need to know this shit for the test? Too much work. Im just going to find another parking spot in a realistic scenario. My mom is 60 and has no idea how to parallel park. YOU DONT NEED THIS SKILL.
I have a much simpler way 1. Line up your car next to the other car so that your rear bumper/wheels aligns with theirs. 2.Start reversing and fully turning till you can see the whole front end of the car BEHIND you in the sideview mirror. 3.Straighten the wheel and continue reversing till your front bumper passes the rear bumper of the car in FRONT of you. 4. Turn the wheel to put yourself behind the car. 5. Adjust the distance by going forwards a little
I'm teaching myself (reteaching, the way I was taught in drivers ed was the way to pass the test, not the actual method to parallel parking) how to parallel park tomorrow, in my manual car... hope this helps!
I live in Skokie Illinois ,USA....How to measure your car with others cars coming opposit and same way parallel !!??Also changing line?? I need help please..
I didn't know BMW's had blinkers
lol
.. i know it was a joke, but it's actually true in some of their models! LOL
***** wow I didn't know that lol, nevertheless that still was pretty damn funny
Tracer ya some of the BMW's have electrical issues somehow with the blinkers... so it could be a good excuse even if the blinkers do work! :)
He probably forgot to drain the indicator fluid when he left the house
Watched this right before I took my driving test, I owe my success to you and this video thanks a lot man!
Did you pass
+thegamer298 he won a nobel prize
Omg hopefully i pass😬 i struggle with parallel parking and im taking my test soon
lelouch GA did u pass
Taking my driver’s test tomorrow. Wish me luck. :)
I fallowed this video exactly on my drivers test and i passed! That was the only second time i tried. Thank you! Your videos helped me so much. I havent tried to take my drivers test after the first time in like 6 years.
Im very happy to live where you don't need to parallel park very often, its kinda a pain in the ars when you can just role up and stop, lol.
If only we had such large spaces in Chicago!
My instructor taught me the same way and I always parked the car perfectly!
I like the makeshift cone
Im trying this tomorrow.
Thanks this was so helpful
Dat steering angle tho, RWDs sure have their benefits.
I'll just stick to having to walk a few extra meters after finding a parking spot.
dude i swear i know or have met like 5 different people who have the EXACT same face and voice as you.
pretty good tutorial though, this is the same method my driving instructor taught me back when i learned to drive.
Thank you very much, great video, with this video I could do it after my 2nd try :))
I’m watching this the day before my road test
Why not go nose first into their and back up and turn until perfect? It seems a lot easier.
damn that's a nice Bemy (BMW) and halo lights jesse mccartney :D
Can you please do a how to parallel park in tight spaces ? Please I still can’t do it and it’s so frustrating I never know when to straighten out I never know if I should turn all the way or one full turn because I live in the uk there are so many right roads and parking spots please send help
Awesome video
I did this and I WRECKED. The car exploded into flames. But I passed. THANKS.
Can you do video on how to reverse park?
Thank you for this very helpful tip!
All I notice is the AP Royal Oak his wearing lol
do they let you mess with the mirrors at the dmv? already have my license but that wouldve saved me a couple points >:(
This guy and his BMW remind me of Elliot Rodger
I'm baffled
he looks like the kid from Toy Story
+fertolito jaja. to the top sir.
W
haha
LMAO
fertolito hahaha just realized that
Easier way:
Line your cars side mirror to the car next to yours side view mirror
Turn the wheel and move back into the parking spot.
Ram the fuck outta the car behind you till its far back enough for you to fit
Do the same for the car infront
Then your good
Thank you! It worked! Now i know how to park better.
W
does this work if i'm driving a smart car and the car im parallel parking to happens to be a suburban?
The opposite will happen. Your smart car will get even smarter and you can squish in. lol
AceHitz WHY WAS I ACTUALLY TAKING NOTES OF THIS UNTIL I READ THAT AND IM LITERALLY LAUGHING SO HARD OMFG
by this time someone else already parked in your spot nose first
😂😂
SlackersIndustry that was a perfect reality, can't stop laughing. Happened to me 3 times before I realized that I was just concentrating too damn hard. Now I can measure the space at first glance and just back that ass up into the spot with no problem. Confidence is definitely key to it all.
Nelsido Mejia 😁 I can't wait to feel that confident with my parking skills! I'll just keep practicing.
SlackersIndustry " This is america learn how to drive" hahaha
Mike The Bookie
Summed up:
-line up rear tyres with bumper, crank wheel fully to the right and reverse
-line up centre of car with back bumper, straighten wheel and reverse
-line up side mirror with bumper, crank wheel fully to the left and reverse
-pull forward to be parallel with the curb, adjusting as needed
Nomadic Moons Ty very much
I have my test in a week and a half and I've never been so nervous
I'm 22 and waited far too long and sick of putting it off
Wish me luck!
good luck!
Thank you for the summary God bless you,
How did it go?
Powerage did you pass?
You're driving a BMW, all you need to do is quickly drive into a disabled bay with your hazard lights on and leave it there
+Matt Graves you actually never "drive" a bmw because it's always crashed into something somewhere
+NumbnutzTV lol
Matt Graves they don’t know what hazard lights are
You should've used a more real scenario, involving parking between two cars.
In traffic too, see how fast you can execute while under pressure. Add an uphill grade while we're at it.
oldtwins while godzilla attacks the town, and prostitutes run wildly.
@@SouLr0x 😂😂
Parallel parking? Oh I'm sorry I didn't watch that part because of that sexy E39 M5. You should make this video with one of those driver ed Corollas. That way I won't have a sexy car to focus on.
It is a little bit distracting :P
Well, you have to admit. That is a good reason to learn to parallel park right. Isn't it?
At least he wore long sleeves so I wasn't blinded by his guns.
I find a corolla more "sexy" than your shitbox bmw.
KanjoosMakhichoos Thats reasonable, as they don't get much else in India besides "sexy" Corollas.
DUDE IT HELPS IF THERE IS A CAR FOR REAL
+Chamal Paranavitane My thoughts exactly, maybe a couple of real cars. I'm surprised he didn't get more thumbs down.
+100PercentOS2 what does it matter?
***** wtf dude?! It was just a question. Don't have to be so rude.
It does but also there are some newer drivers who have to take a test with two cones
I'm about to test and I like this wayyyy better
Huh, I didn't know Faze Adapt had two channels.
LMFAAOOO
they really do look alike lol
i think hes more like Strobe from 2013 (just my opinion)
Adapt failed his driving test like 3 times he wouldn't be teaching how to drive
Randy Bobandy can I get some cheese burgers to go
There will be another parking spot by the time you do this! :P
LMAO! this made me laugh
+Sophie W. Me tooo😂
Sophie wassup baby

I agree. Who has time to adjust the side mirror! Lol Gotta get your car booty in and park!
@@beachchicken6268 I'm actually his cousin but thanks
I have a better way, steal the golf clubs then you can have all the space you want
Parking is the hardest thing to learn man. At least for me.
Who also has their Road test in August 2020?
Lol mine
fatbob03 I passed mine I’m so happy man
Chiefs-30- Ti nice i have mine in about a month, quite nervous haha.
bree ! Good luck i had to reschedule mine i was so hype but now i gotta wait longer
Would this work in a tight spot?
mimato It has worked for me but as expected it's harder
mimato It has worked for me but as expected it's harder
about to go take the road test wish me luck
me too, good luck!
+Blink Fret passed how about you
+ParamountFleet yup I passed too, good job
Fuck mine's today
I take mine on Friday this week, Hope you passed!
>stop next to car you are parking behind about a distance of half a meterish away
>reverse until the back tires are just behind or inline of the rear bumper of other car
>start to reverse and simultaneously steer wheel to reverse into spot
>when reversing at that point, stop at 45 degrees of the road
>reverse and simultaneously start turning the wheel in the other direction
>stop reversing after you're inline with the car
SOOOOO MUCH SIMPLER
Thought this was the easy way?
Is that a bag of golf clubs? I don't own a bag of gold clubs so can I use my pet dog? My dog will move if I get to close and bark at me.
You need to explain it better.
That is a beautiful car
i never paralleled park in my life until the drivers test and i passed. it was so nerve racking and all i kept remembering was this video
I just watched a video that says that you are supposed to line your back wheel with the back bumper of the other car! I don't know...
+miauabcd Yeah. You need to line us the ass-end s of both cars. Nothing else. Cars lengths vary too greatly to use any other method.
Thank you for posting this video! The visual markers made sense in my head. I watched this a few times last night, and passed my driver's test this morning, even though I had no chance to practice parallel parking ahead of time! :)
My road test is in less than two hours I'm so scared
Nicole West how'd you do? I'm curious
Thank you! i'm about to move to a place where i'll need to parallel park a lot.
Yes let's all curb our rims
Thats an automatic fail on a driving test
it's more for the driving test at a dmv dude. once your tire touches that curb it's a automatic fail
Parallel parking is pointless
Dude you turned this thing into a mathematical equation 🤯🤦🏼♀️
Tough crowd. It seemed like a good video and I've been driving for decades but then I've never been more than average at parallel parking. Good work.

Whereas parallel you can just pull out, spurt of acceleration and you're golden. What i find funny is that most americans think that manual transmissions don't exist in modern cars anymore, very funny xD
Suppy Rainel I drive manual :p

what bmw model is this?
It's a 2001 BMW M5
Talk about over educating, its really simple, i reckon people trying to learn like this will end up bumping cars... just make a mental map of your surroundings and be familiar with your car

That must be a fake BMW, you used your signal at the start, real BMWs dont come with signals
Step 1: turn blinker on and approach the spot
You want to get right next to the spot to make sure there is enough room to park
Check around
Pull forward next to the car infront of the spot in front of you
Step : 2 align your seat with the cars seat in front of your
Put the car into reverse
Step 3: ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW ON THE RIGHT SIDE and adjust your right mirror down so you can look at the curb
Step 4: back up straight until your REAR TIRES are EXACTLY even with the BACK of the persons bumper
So the very end of the car
Step 5: crank the wheel all the way to the right at around a 45 degree angle
Keep making sure you check the distance
Once your center pillar is RIGHT NEXT TO THE BACK BUMPER OF THE CAR or your MIDDLE LINE IN THE CAR IS NEXT TO THE BUMPER OF THE CAR
straighten out your wheels and begin to move back in reverse straight
Step 6: JUST BEFORE YOUR RIGHT MIRROR IS ABOUT TO PASS THE DISTANCE FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR, now crank the wheel all the way to the left. ( PAY ATTENTION TO THE MIRRORS TO KEEP CHECKING EVERYTHING and distance)
Now your car has cleared the space and do it slowly watch THE CURB ON THE RIGHT MIRROR AS YOU MAKE SURE YOU DONT HIT THE CURB. After this point shift the gear into drive and straighten out and do what you have to do to make sure the car is 6-12 inches away from the curb.
(MAKE SURE TO ALWAYS CHECK YOUR REAR WINDOW AND YOUR RIGHT HANDED MIRROR)
Thanks again! I’m over 60 and still get nervous. This video helps a lot.
i should install a rear camera I’m terrible at estimating how close i am to the car behind me
parker thank you for posting this!! i had no clue. i took my road test yesterday and passed thank you!!!!!
Does anyone else think he looks and sounds like a non-drug addict, gay steve-o?
Omg😂😂yes
I've been driving a few years now and I could put my e30 in the most smallest spaces which was handy as the people on my street wouldn't attempt to fit in it so I'll always have a space when I get back. But I've picked up a brand new mx5 and I can't park... At all I will struggle to get into a gap that could fit two cars
Thanks man, this video really helped me on the driving test. I perfectly parked it first try!
I have a much simpler way
5. Adjust the distance by going forwards a little
How to parallel Park the easy way - Park somewhere else
I'm teaching myself (reteaching, the way I was taught in drivers ed was the way to pass the test, not the actual method to parallel parking) how to parallel park tomorrow, in my manual car... hope this helps!
dude your e39 is the EXACT way i'd have one.. that same blue..
Is that original Audemars Piguet or a replica? :)
One problem. BMWs don't have indicators. You must have modified yours
I live in Skokie Illinois ,USA....How to measure your car with others cars coming opposit and same way parallel !!??Also changing line?? I need help please..
I’m just a fourteen year old that’s absolutely terrified to drive watching driving videos at three am. Help.
“the easy way, honestly, it’s not very difficult”
